Leading figures from all around the world came to see this mansion but suddenly it all stopped when the site was abandoned more than 20 years ago. What happened to the former residents? From a distance, it still seems like a real-life fairy-tale castle. But take a closer look and you see that the facade is crumbling and that this is place is full of scars. During our big urbex roadtrip last February, our local friends decided to show us an abandoned luxury villa. Together with Luca from the youtube channel UrbexLuca we entered the overgrown property somewhere in Luxembourg. Apparently this mansion belonged to a successful building contractor. The business itself is right next door – and abandoned as well.

It's a fact that this time capsule has a long history and that it’s over a hundred years old but it's hard to find any more information. In the 1940s, there was a major fire inside the building and several floors were destroyed. Shortly after that the hotel was confiscated by the Nazi regime and used as a maternity hospital. After World War 2 this site was confiscated again – this time by the British occupying troops. Due to the massive number of refugees the total population of the village tripled – a lot of them were accommodated in the hotel. But here our chronicle is ending. We couldn’t find out why this place was abandoned – you can only speculate. Maybe the hotel was too far off the beaten track. But as it seems this place was still in use around ten years ago.

This Mansion belonged to a factory owner and was built in the 20th century. It is a beautifully designed and very luxurious home, unfortunately other than that not much is known about the place.

In this first full-length episode of Burbex for 2021, Brin and Senzuri hit their second location on Dianshan Lake outside of Shanghai. The duo clamber over the gates to an abandoned millionaires yacht club, and squeeze through a window to explore the luxury hotel. After that the two of them discover an abandoned luxury mansion, and try to figure out how to get into the boat house.
