We went for a hike on the eastern side of Sao Miguel, Azores, Azores, which is also known as the Lost village of Sao Miguel. If you are planning to visit the Azores, and looking for some recommendations on hikes, there is a good website, where you can search information on different trails on the Azores:
We are also talking about drugs and the Azores, about what happened in the past and how drugs came to the island. NETFLIX is currently filming a comedy show about the Azores and drugs, recorded respectively. It should come out in 2023.
One of my favourite places in Ponta Delgada, which is the capital of the Azores, is the farmer's market. For the best experience, try to visit it during Friday/Saturday - there are many sellers!

This video shows my first two days exploring the island Sao Miguel in a quick tempo (I will return for a longer period after exploring two other islands). I went waterfall hiking and explored the Sete Cidades area. On the second day I went to Salto do Cabrito and Lagoa do Fogo before taking the plane to Terceira.

The Azores (Portuguese: Açores) is one of the two autonomous regions of Portugal (along with Madeira). It is an archipelago composed of nine volcanic islands in the North Atlantic Ocean. All the islands have volcanic origins.
São Miguel Island is the largest and most populous island in the Portuguese archipelago of the Azores. The island covers 760 km2 (290 sq mi) and has around 140,000 inhabitants, with 45,000 people resident in Ponta Delgada, the archipelago's largest city.
Similar to other islands in the archipelago, São Miguel is influenced by ocean currents and winds, and, in particular, the cyclonic Gulf Stream. This keeps temperatures hovering between 14 °C (57 °F) and 26 °C (79 °F) throughout the year. The island's location also makes it susceptible to many Atlantic storms.

The next stop in our Portugal adventure is the beautiful islands of the Azores! This has been on our travel list for years and we were so excited to finally have the opportunity to visit. We will be sharing three videos to our Azores adventure and this is part one! We spent the entire time on Sao Miguel Island which was just a magical place.

We took in some amazing sites at Lagoa do Fogo, hiked to the waterfalls of Salto do Cabrito, and also enjoyed our first (of many) hot springs at Parque Terra Nostra! We also had some side visits to Cascata da Ribeira Quente and Lagoa das Furnas.

If you are an adventurer and love exploring the outdoors this is your island! We recommend renting a car (rentals are extremely affordable). Despite the island being small, some of the well known destinations can take 45 minutes or more to drive to.
The Azores are becoming increasingly popular and with cheap flights from Delta, TAP and Azores Airlines you can get there on a direct flight from a few major US cities. Instead of an extended weekend trip to Vegas- head to the islands!

São Miguel is the biggest island in the Portuguese Azores archipelago. It’s known for its volcanic scenery, flora and rich marine life, including whales. Ponta Delgada, the capital, is home to the 18th-century City Gates, Gothic St. Sebastian Church and 16th-century Fort of São Brás. The twin crater lakes of Sete Cidades, one green and one blue, lie to the northwest. To the east, Furnas has fumaroles and hot springs.
