AUGSBURG - WHY You NEED TO visit THIS Bavarian city! | Germany Vlogs | Jazmin Angelique

In todays vlog me and my friend Carola explored our own backyard. For Caro's birthday back in July I gave her a voucher for a day trip to somewhere in Germany and wherever she wanted to go. Carola chose Augsburg in Bavaria as it has the same name as her hometown in Italy (if you translate it from Italian into German).

So a few months later we took a train to Augsburg, which is actually only an hour away from where we live. We both were so surprised how pretty Augsburg is and we can definitely recommend coming here.

Enjoy the vlog :)

Augsburg City ASMR - Bavaria, Germany • Virtual Walking Tour in 4K

Augsburg is a city in Bavaria (Bayern) Germany. It's a medieval city with a lot of history! Augsburg is Germany's third oldest city and was named after the Roman emperor Augustus. We started at the Augsburg market and walked the city center. We take you on a tour of the 11th-century cathedral with the beautiful and oldest stained glass windows in the world. Then walked further down to the old medieval city walls to locate the statue of the baker. It is said that touching the nose brings luck. The statue is in honor of the baker who saved the city inhabitants from starvation during the 30 years' war. #4k #augsburg #germany

I’m a German South African and this was my first time traveling to Germany. Germany is the country of my family roots and this was my experience there.
Day 1 I arrived from Qatar and pre-booked an airport shuttle with booking.com to take me to the Novum Gates Hotel. The hotel was very comfortable and close to a subway station. The breakfast was very nice too. I had an afternoon nap and walked around the area and I ended up at Maxxim Night Club. It was fun dancing all night.
Day 2 I went to the Berlin Zoo which the most viewed Zoo in Europe. I saw a variety of animals there and they all came from different continents. Then I visited the Brandedburg Gate which was used to mark the reunification of Germany in 1990. I visited the German Historical Museum and they had a model of Auschwitz and I learned that Zyklon B was the killing tool in the gas chambers.
Day 3 I went on a boat ride in the Spree river. The Spree river is 400km long. The weather was raining but at least it was warm inside the ferry. Many people from East Berlin tried to use the river to cross the wall and a lot of people drowned.
Day 4 I went Sachsenhausen Concentration Camp. It was a forced labor camp and it imprisoned 200,000 Jews. The conditions were so unbearable and as a result 30,000 Jews died in the camp.
Day 5 I wen to Potsdam, Berlin to see some of the castles where Frederick the Great lived. The Sanssouci Castle was his summer palace. The name means ‘without concern.’ It is one of the most visited castles in Germany.
Day 6 My family and I went to Tropical Islands which is the largest indoor water park in the world. It was a 27 m high water slide and you travel very fast when you go down it. We also enjoyed the outdoor water slide called the Amazonia. We went down the slide nearly 10 times.
Day 7 I went up the tower at Alexanderplatz. The tower is called Fernsehturm which is the location of TV stations and radio broadcasting for Berlin. Fernsehturm is the tallest structure in Germany and is occasionally called the Alex Tower. I later went down to Checkpoint Charlie to see the history of the Berlin Wall. I did not know it was 157 km long and 200 people died trying to cross from East to West Germany.
Day 8 I traveled first class on the ICE Deutche Bahn train from Berlin To Munich and then took another train to Augsburg. I met my cousins in which I have never met before and I went to the Fuggerei which is the oldest house complex in the world and it still exits today. Augsburg had a thriving textile industry in the 19th Century and I went to the textile museum which employed nearly 2000 people.
Day 9 I went to Thierhaupten which is a town in the district of Augsburg in which my great grandfather was born. My great-great grandparents grave still exits in Thierhaupten today. My great grandfather traveled to South Africa in 1923 where he started his own textile company.
Day 10 My cousin and I went to the lake at Merching. It was a stunning lake and I saw wild swans for the first time in my life. We also went sailing on a boat down the lake. The wind took as at quiet a high speed.
Day 11 I went to Munich and I stayed at the GS Hotel. I went to a museum and then took a bike ride in the Englischer Garten which is one of the largest urban parks in the world. It was amazing to watch the surfers in the river wake.
Day 12 I went to Füssen to see the Neuschwanstein Castle designed by the Ludwig II. It was a beautiful castle and he was inspired by Roman Catholic culture to design it. It took 24 years to build and is one of the most visited castles in Germany. Walt Disney based the Disney castle logo on the Neuschwanstein Castle. Unfortunately I was not allowed to take pictures inside the castle
Day 13 I went to a public pool but you were not allowed to take pictures inside the pool area.
Day 14 I went to the BMW museum. I learned that BMW first stared out by making aircraft engines.

Driving Germany: St2032 Augsburg - Lauingen - 4K drive through Augsburg Western Woods Nature Park

The 4K road tourism video features a drive on secondary roads through the beautiful Swabia region. We are traversing a hilly area with altitudes between 450-550m and end the drive in the nice historical town of Lauingen, after passing through Dillingen. We are crossing the Augsburg West Woods Nature Park on the way, a forrested area west of the city of Augsburg. As I drove there in fall, there were very nice colors during the drive. Photos from Augsburg and Lauingen are also integrated in the video. Enjoy!

The photos from Lauingen and some of the ones from Augsburg are shot by Cinxxx, please check also his Youtube Channel and Flickr account:

Jahrhundert stammende Sozialsiedlung.
