WHO ARE KARA AND NATE?!
New here? We are full-time travel vloggers with a goal of visiting 100 countries before 2019. We make daily travel videos. In these videos you can expect to see the best foods and adventures of every country we visit. ;)

Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, we got married June 2013 and quickly caught the travel bug! We started traveling full-time January 10, 2016. While daily vlogging was not the original plan, we were having way too many cool experiences not to share every single day! Now travel vlogging is our full-time gig and we feel like we have the greatest job in the world! We are incredibly thankful to do something we love every day. :)

We’ve pulled inspiration from several of our favorite travel vloggers on YouTube, such as: +CaseyNeistat +FunForLouis +Jon Olsson +Mr Ben Brown , and any other talented travel vloggers that YouTube’s algorithm will hopefully connect us with ;)

Driving 2,700 miles through the Atacama Desert | Chile (road trip vlog)

Our week-long road trip through the oldest and driest desert on Earth showcased spectacular varied landscapes, from salt flats to snow-covered volcanos, home to flamingos and llamas, and some of the most fascinating geological history of our spectacular planet! We camped in a tent, stargazed at the milky way, and barely made it out alive after smashing the rental car on a very sketchy mining road.

TOUR OF THE ATACAMA DESERT, CHILE

There are few places around the world that truly take your breath away, but the Atacama Desert is one of those places that’ll leave you breathless… and that’s not just because of the high altitude!

I've wanted to go back to the Atacama Desert ever since I first set foot in it back in 2012.

Then, I hardly spent any time exploring this beautiful part of the world, but I always knew I'd be back.

This time around I took a tour to see the El Tatio geysers, the pink flamingos at Chaxa Lagoon, the mountain lagoons of Miniques and Miscanti, before finally watching the sun set in the Valle de la Luna, the Valley of the Moon.

The Atacama Desert really is like no where else I've been, so here's what I got up to on my tour of the Atacama Desert. Enjoy!

✈✈✈

You can read all about the El Tatio geysers here -

Also, these are the lagoons of the Atacama Highlands -

We spent 5 days in the ATACAMA DESERT IN CHILE ???????? (Chile Travel Guide)

Enjoy this 4K travel vlog from the Atacama Desert in Chile! We spent 5 days in San Pedro de Atacama, the driest and darkest place on earth. The landscape in Chile was truly stunning and we had so much fun on our day trips through the Atacama Desert and the Altiplano (high plateau). Being on more than 4,000 meters elevation was challenging and the cold temperatures during the Chilean winter were extreme!

We booked our tours with Layana Travel in San Pedro de Atacama and were very happy with them!

Journey Through the Enigmatic Atacama Desert ????️

Journey Through the Enigmatic Atacama Desert ????️

In this video we take a long drive through the Atacama desert which is a truly unique experience in itself. There’s no one out there! It’s great :)

We make a stop off at the Tropic of Capricorn which was pretty cool to see the sign just standing out there in the middle of nowhere, Craig was super excited to see it!

After a long drive and an even higher climb up into high altitude, we got out to explore another famous area; Salar de Talar or Piedras Rojas (Red rocks). This place is beautiful, but freezing and really takes your breath away at over 4000 meters above sea level.

A British couple from just outside London, England. We got married in 2018 and decided instead of a honeymoon we’d travel the world together. We saved money and travel points, quit our jobs, rented our house out and boarded a one way flight in 2020. We started this Youtube channel to share our experiences with friends, family and anyone who plans to travel to the places we’re visiting. We leave TKT tips/facts in our vlogs and blogs to give information that we wish we’d had before visiting. We hope you find our content fun & useful :)

Uyuni Salt Flats Bolivia - Three Day Tour | Atacama Desert | Red Planet Expeditions

Welcome to our channel! Our names are Ged and Kelsie and we are two Aussies sharing our adventures through South America.

This is one hell of a ride! We had been super excited to go on this tour since we started our trip and are even more excited to share it with you now! Just in case you missed the title we went and explored the epic salt flats and surrounding landscapes of Uyuni.

To get there we caught an overnight bus from La Paz (see our last ep here: which was tough but couldn’t dampen our hype to start this tour. Even the weather seemed to be eager to get us on our way with beautiful sunshine and a crisp breeze (also see: bloody freezing hell wind). Loaded up into Landcruisers, our road trip had us reminiscing of family holidays back home, but it soon became apparent we were not in Queensland (Kansas) anymore.

Our first stop was a train graveyard which we immediately decided to climb all over and have too much fun almost breaking our necks. With this leg stretching out of the way it was back on road and straight to the main event. The Salar de Uyuni, aka the epic (we say this a lot) Salt Flats! This barren landscape of crunchy salt and even more crunchy salt combined with the sunny blue skies was epic (told you). It was like standing on another planet that is also a solarium (sunscreen is a must). The only detractions were the constant and unrelenting wind, plus whatever sickness Kels had picked up (poor gal). We spent the rest of the day taking funny photos, visiting an island that had some plants older than time and watching the sky change patterns with the approaching dusk.

Day two and our first stop was a bit of weird one. It was a small town that was pretty much a ghost town but had some interesting old bits of equipment that used to be used to service steam trains. Some more driving got us to a valley of llamas which were reluctant to make friends with us - no matter how much we tried to get close to them. Turns out our stealth skills need work, as we found out at the next stop called ‘Stinky Lagoon’, a aptly name place home to flamingos. We tried get a closer to the pink beauties using a new tactic, a kind of hunched shamble, but to no great success besides laughing at ourselves.

Driving through the ever—changing landscapes gave us a break from the wind and kept us captivated between our last few stops. Some wind craved rocks (more climbing), Red Lagoon, home to an accurate few THOUSAND flamingos and a very active pocket of geysers (geezers) filled out a busy day two. That night we got to soak off the day’s exploring in a natural hot spring under the stars. Few too many wines were had.

The last day of this epic (again) adventure was a little marred by a knee injury sustained on the walk back from the hot spring and, you guess it, wind (like so bloody much wind). We did manage a short exploration of Green Lagoon which turned out to be as close as we will get to Chile (visa fail), but the rest of the day was spent rolling over dunes on our way back to town. Another overnight bus got us back to La Paz for blessed hot showers and much needed shave.

Where we go next is a little bit of mystery as we didn’t manage to sort out our visas for Chile. One thing is for sure though it will be less windy than this part of our unforgettable journey.
