MONTSERRAT FUNICULAR RAILWAY REVIEW / BARCELONA, CATAYUNYA / FULL RIDE
This video is of the Saint Joan Funicular railway which takes you higher up Montserrat Mountain after you drive up or take either the Narrow Gauge Rack Railway 'Cremallera' or Cable Car to the Monastery level. The other funicular is currently closed for renovation.
Montserrat Monastery near Barcelona
Santa Maria de Montserrat is a Benedictine abbey founded in the 10th century and located on the mountain of Montserrat about 48 km from Barcelona in Spain.
This is a really worth trip if you are in Barcelona. Just take FGC train R5 from Plaça Espanya train station in Barcelona to Aeri Montserrat station (if you want to use cable car) or to Monistrol Montserrat station (to take Rack railway Cremallera Funicular). The journey time is about 90 minutes.

Il modo migliore per raggiungere il monastero di Montserrat. Cinque minuti di meraviglioso panorama per giungere a 700 metri d'altezza.
Molto meglio la funicolare a cavo che a cremagliera, da li il panorama non è così bello :)
Montserrat Monastery & Cable Car
Our trip to the town on Montserrat in Catalonia, Spain.
From the base of the mountain, we took the cable car (Aeri de Montserrat) 544 Meters up to the Santa Maria de Montserrat Monastery. The monastery was founded in the 11th century and rebuilt between 19th and 20th centuries.
Montserrat Abbey also contains the Virgin of Montserrat statue, who is known as the is the Patron Saint of Catalonia.
After exploring the monastery, we walked about 30 minutes to the Cross of San Miguel, which provided superb views back across to the monastery, even with the thunder and lightning closing in all around us. We headed down from Sant Miquel's Cross back to the Abbey before getting the cable car back down to the valley below.
