Having stayed in multiple different villages on my previous travels, I was inspired to do the same in Belarus. I reached out to several Belarusians and got the wonderful opportunity to visit Krupitsa village after meeting Ira through Couchsurfing. Ira was so excited to invite me to come and stay with her parents and her son. I was excited to see life in the countryside and got lucky to be present during Ira’s father's birthday.

ABOUT ME:
Hello there, welcome to this channel!
I am an Indonesian female solo traveller, who started solo travelling in 2013. After working for the government till 2016, I left Indonesia to pursue full-time travelling and to document myself as I explore different cultures as a solo female.

Having initially travelled for 5 months throughout Asia, I moved to China in January 2017 for an English teaching job, which was my first experience living abroad.

Since leaving China in 2018, I have taken the move to become a full-time YouTube creator and traveller. I strive to create unique, culture-driven content and capture authentic interactions as I travel.

German tourist discovers Belarusian cuisine / ENG subs

Going on a gourmet trip to Belarus, vegetarian Anna Steinmann did not hesitate to try country-style sausage. If one wants to grasp the culture of a country, they need to have a bite of its cuisine, the German citizen believes. Watch another episode of Welcome To Belarus to know whether Belarusian chefs and cooks managed to surprise the foreign guest.

Her culinary journey started in Minsk, where Anna looked for street food sanctuaries together with vegetarian food expert Valeryia Prakofyeva.

But to catch the real taste of the country, the WtB crew took her to the farm stay not far from Bellavezha Forest. Anna even dared to milk a cow for the first time in her life!

LOCAL FOOD MARKET - must visit in Belarus

minsk #belarus #foodmarket

My favourite hobby on Sundays when I'm in Belarus - go to the local food market. it is here and not in the store where I can find the freshest farm products.
people from villages grow delicious fresh vegetables, berries and fruits in their gardens. and in the summer season sell them on the food market. so they can earn extra money. our country is lucky because we have very fertile soil. When you arrive in Minsk, be sure to visit the local food market. you will love it.

Farmer's Market in Belarus? (WATCH IN 4K)

Follow me on Instagram:

You might not know this, but Belarus is a largely agricultural country. On all of the major highways you will drive past farmland and run into farmers selling their goods on the side of the road.

Whenever I travel to a new place, I like to check out the local farmer's market, because I usually find the freshest, best & most unique products that that place has to offer. In Minsk, the capital city of Belarus, the largest farmer's market is the Kamarovsky Rynok which is an enormous indoor market where you will find produce from Belarus and nearby countries.

Cooking and Eating Russian Oladushki, Sweet Small Pancakes. Minsk Street Food, Belarus

Follow her :

Street Food Festival VULITSA EZHA in Dreamland Park, Minsk, Belarus

Oladushki are one of two types of pancakes known to Russian cuisine; they are the thicker ones – the other being the thinner crepe-like blini.
Oladushki are Russian pancakes that are essentially made of flour, eggs and water.
Instead of water, and to give a creamier consistency, you can use kefir, which is a sour milk product traditional to Russian cuisine.
But rarely are these the only ingredients; oladushki are also usually cooked with an assortment of toppings or added ingredients and can be either savory or sweet.
In this case they can be served with other sweet garnishes, such as syrup, whipped cream or strawberries, for added flavour.
Usually the cook prepares them freshly for the customer. They are sold on a small cardboard (sometimes plastic) plate and come with a small disposable fork the size of a pastry fork.
They looks similar to Poffertjes, a traditional Dutch battertreat. Resembling small, fluffy pancakes, they are made with yeast and flour. They have a light, spongy texture.
Typically, poffertjes are sweet treat, served with powdered sugar and butter, and sometimes syrup or advocaat.
Poffertjes are not difficult to prepare, but a special cast iron pan or copper pan (also available in aluminium with Teflon coating) with several shallow indentations in the bottom is required.
