VisitGuernsey: Welcome To Guernsey

Nestling snugly in the bay of St Malo and 70 miles from mainland Britain, the Channel Island of Guernsey is a heady mix of French and British cultures. This collision of lifestyles has created a unique environment, where familiarity is tempered by the unexpected, but where you'll always feel welcome. It's a very special place, one that leaves a lasting impression on all who visit.

Here you'll discover a community that looks to the future for inspiration, but where traditional values still hold sway; where the influence of the Continent is keenly felt, but not to the extent that it dents an unwavering loyalty to the British Crown; and where the dynamism of the global finance industry sits easily alongside centuries old traditions.

Of course for many people, it's the scenery that makes Guernsey so special. And it's easy to see why. Our cliffs, coves and commons provide a real treat for walkers and the abundance and variety of our floral heritage will inspire you. Plus there are the sister islands of Herm, Sark and Alderney to explore.

Guernsey Island (Part One)

Kia Ora whanau, now todays vlog is a little different. Yes it is a travel vlog but I am in this location for work.

I had the opportunity to represent my engineering firm overseas in the UK to carry out some maintenance in a hospital on Guernsey Island. This was is the furthest from home I have ever been but man was it an experience. A lot of history on this island and nota location I would have thought to visit but I'm glad I can say that I have.

Check out the vlog, tell me what your favorite part was and keep your eyes peeled for part two!!

Discovering Jersey - the island of dreams (and nightmares)

#jersey #channelislands
Jersey is in the Channel Islands, just off the coast of northern France but they belong to the UK. Or do they? In fact, this is just one of the many mysteries of this beautiful little island that we attempt to uncover during our five night Cosmos Stay and Explore trip. There's so much to unpack and so much to discover we just had to make a video to try and convey our surprise at how much we fell in love with this island, it's quirky and unique features and it's horrific and harrowing journey through enforced occupation by the Nazis in World War Two. If you've never been, this little video journal will hopefully inspire you to find out more.

Voluntary Disclosure:
We were invited to Jersey as guests of Cosmos. We paid for our own flights to Jersey and received no fees or remuneration for producing media during and after this trip from Cosmos. A WEEKEND IN GUERNSEY, CHANNEL ISLANDS

Are you planning a weekend in Guernsey? Then this is the video for you!

Recently I visited Guernsey and I had such an amazing time. I knew the Channel Islands were beautiful, but I didn’t realise they were this beautiful.

From the moment we flew over the island, I knew I was in for an amazing weekend away. It felt like we were flying over the Caribbean with sapphire blue waters below us.

In just a few days we packed in so many activities. We went kayaking around the coast, spent the afternoon on Herm Island, explored the harbour around St. Peter Port, and of course visited some of the best beaches.

So, if you're planning a weekend in Guernsey, hopefully this video will give you a bit of inspiration.

First impressions of ST PETER PORT - The capital of GUERNSEY Channel Islands

Hi everyone! In this video, I explore St Peter Port (or Saint Peter Port), the capital and largest town of Guernsey. Walking around St Peter Port was very special, especially after my recent visit to St Helier in Jersey, one of the other Channel Islands. This allowed me to draw comparisons between St Helier and St Peter Port which I briefly touch upon throughout the vlog in various parts.

The vlog starts off with me walking around the harbour. I immediately notice the statue of Albert the Prince Consort on a roundabout and the vast presence of flowers and flower beds around the city. I also notice a town church and the beautiful buildings near the harbour.

I walk towards Castle Cornet and notice the traffic and number of boats in the town. Getting to the castle was not easy and it was also shut due to it not being tourist season, but the walk itself was lovely. I mention along the way that I really like the pace and vibe of the town.

After exploring the area near the castle, I head back to town but stop for a bite to eat at a cafe in the harbour. I order a Guernsey Gache and give my feedback...

Back in town, I walk towards Liberation Square and notice several commemorative monuments and other related references to the liberation in 1945. Whilst having a patch of sunshine, I also visit the statue of Victor Hugo, the famous French writer who once lived in Guernsey.

I then head back to my hotel for a quick breather and show you my room. I then talk about the one pound (£1) note you find in Guernsey. Following this, I spot a map of the island in the reception and talk a little bit about the size of the island as well as St Peter Port's location in Guernsey.

After a brief stint at the hotel, I head back to town and visit another garden before exploring the shopping area including Main Street, Lefebvre Street and the North Pier Steps. I also talk about the Donkey Statue and visit the Market Buildings Inner Street Arcade and the Old Quarter.

The vlog ends with me having a final walk in the harbour area, where I also give my verdict on St Peter Port as a place to visit and how to get there from the United Kingdom.

I hope you enjoy this vlog - please give this video a like and subscribe to my channel if you haven't already! This really help my channel to grow which in turn means that I will be able to make more vlogs such as these for your enjoyment :)

CRUISING TO GUERNSEY | British Channel Islands UK | Cruise Vlog #5

Guernsey is part of the British Channel Islands - a beautiful part of the UK - our cruise docked at St Peter Port and we...⬇ More Below ✈ Our 220 page guide on how to travel non-stop —

Quick recap — we're on our first cruise, departing with Princess Cruises on Sapphire Princess from Southampton UK. Today we arrived in St Peter Port, Guernsey, to explore our last cruise port.

Guernsey is in a unique spot in the UK, it's actually part of the British Channel Islands so is quite popular with various boat trips and cruise travel as well. We were pleasantly surprised with how welcoming, similar and yet so different Guernsey was to the other spots in the UK we've travelled.

Guernsey is one of those places we never really imagined we'd get the chance to travel, thankfully it was the last included stop on our cruise and we had the whole day to get lost, eat food and embrace the local good stuff ( aka cider ???? )

That's the last cruise vlog from our trip on Sapphire Princess with Princess Cruises.

Safe to say we love cruise life! Having our bags unpacked for a week onboard the ship, travelling over night, new locations to explore almost daily - this is special! Check out Princess Cruises here —
