10 BEST FOODS to eat in Hong Kong (and exactly WHERE to get them) | THE CLASSIC HONG KONG FOOD TOUR

WELCOME TO HONG KONG!
Whether you're just coming to visit, or you've just moved to Hong Kong or you're moving out of Hong Kong and want to make sure you haven't left any stones unturned before you leave, this is the tour! This is what you have to eat in Hong Kong before leaving! The MUST EATS of Hong Kong. These are the most classic, well known, and famous Hong Kong dishes and foods. Make sure to try out these foods at their most famous restaurants respectively to really get in the ultimate Hong Kong food experience.

All these restaurants are super well known so don't worry if they look off the beaten path because they're not. Also, whoever tells you these places are hidden gems are clearly lying to you LOL English menus are available at all these places with the exception of Joy Hing so don't worry. This Hong Kong food tour is meant for you to do it yourself so it shouldn't be intimidating. This food tour is also within a small area (the more touristy areas of Hong Kong) so you'll be able to do it within a few hours though I would recommend you spilt it up before two days as there is quite a bit of food.

Once you've done this, come back and we'll go through the more hidden gems of Hong Kong but start here first so you get a basic food foundation of the flavours of Hong Kong. =) If you go straight to the hidden gems without a base, you'll won't really understand why those are hidden gems, if that makes sense.

EDIT: Just doing my tour guide training and there's a correction. Cookie crust arrived in Hong Kong in the 1940's and puff pastry in the 1950's.

Taste the Legends: A HONG KONG Food Adventure | Michelin Guide

Hi everyone ????????

In this video, I want to take you to have an unforgettable culinary journey through the streets of Hong Kong as we explore legendary flavors and Michelin Guide’s recommendation.

I started with a delectable lunch at Tsim Chai Kee a legendary noodle shop.
Then we indulged in the extraordinary Don't Yell at Me to have a Wintermelon Chrysanthemum Tea, along with the legendary milk tea at Lan Fong Yuen. And, of course, we couldn't resist the iconic Tai Cheong Bakery egg tarts.

???? As we continued our adventure, we strolled along Sneaker Street, taking in the vibrant atmosphere, and couldn't resist trying the irresistible egg puffs, a street food favorite.

???? As the night descended, our culinary exploration led us to Kai Kai Desert, where we indulged in sweet delights that left our taste buds tingling. To cap off the evening, we enjoyed a sumptuous dim sum feast at a charming restaurant near hotel.

Don't forget to subscribe, like, share, and hit that notification bell to stay updated on our food explorations around the world.

Best CHEAP EATS in Hong Kong - Michelin Recommended | Hong Kong Food Guide

This was our last full day in Hong Kong before we sail off to Macau; and of course we had to try to fit as much food into our day.

We didn’t let the rain and train delays stop us. We caught the double decker bus to Sham Shui Po district for HK breakfast at Sun Hang Yuen. Their Beef and Scrambled Egg Toasted Sandwiches are a must! Also order the HK Style French Toast and Beef Brisket Noodles if you’re hungry.

Another well known establishment is Hop Yik Tai (合益泰小食) a Michelin recommended restaurant famous for their Hong Kong Style Chee Cheong Fun 港式猪肠粉 (Steamed Rice Noodle Rolls). There is always a long line to takeaway but there is also room inside to dine in.

The next neighbourhood we visited was Prince Edward where we saw some very unique sighs; a Goldfish Market and Bird Market! Lunch we had delicious and affordable Dim Sum at One Dimsum and grabbed tried the HK Egg Tarts and Cheese Tarts at Queen Sophies.

For dinner stopped to check our McDonald’s Next; the only one in the world! If you want to try a daring dessert stop by Kai Kee Desserts for their the black sesame soup or try one or there other many Cantonese style desserts.

Incredible Crispy Roast Goose and Claypot Rice in Hong Kong — HK Travel Food Guide!

Eat Like a Local at Four Seasons CLAYPOT RICE (Bao Zai Fan) | Hong Kong Food Review

Hey guys,

In this video, we take you back to Hong Kong and show you to eat like a local with a famous #HongKong dish called clay pot rice (bao zai fan).
#ClaypotRice is basically a rice dish cooked together with some meat toppings in a clay pot. The most popular one is with Chinese sausage (lap cheung).

Tips:
When the dish is first served in front of you, don't eat that straight away, not only because it'll be still piping hot, but also they said the rice is still cooking. So best to leave it at 10 minutes minimum (at least that what the waiter tried to say to us in a mix of English and Cantonese). We googled it after and apparently, some bloggers say so.

Hope you guys enjoy this video and let us know what your favourite claypot rice topping is in the comment below.

Hong Kong Street Food Michelin Eats & Cute Yum Cha in Tsim Sha Tsui - vlog #050

Today I'll be exploring the Tsim Sha Tsui area in Hong Kong. There numerous street food vendors here in Hong Kong and I thought that a good place to start was to try some that were recommended by the Michelin Guide. After leaving my airbnb couldn't resist dropping by Lee Keung Kee North Point Egg Waffles 利強記雞蛋仔 in Tsim Sha Tsui 尖沙咀 again. This place was on the Michelin guide. I really enjoyed their egg waffles here and it was perfect for a quick snack while I head to the Avenue of Stars which is similar to the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

The Avenue of Stars pay homage to celebrities in the Hong Kong film industry and the construction for it should now be all complete if you visit there today. Nearby this area there is a small park called Salisbury Garden that has a area where food trucks stop by. I tried Chee Kei 池記 and enjoyed my light lunch here of a Braised Beef Brisket Bowl and Ice Lemon Tea. I was quite surprised at the Ice Lemon Tea this is very different from Iced Tea that I'm use to back in the U.S. It is very fragrant and I assume it's because they brew their tea and flavor it. I found out afterwards that Chee Kei is on the Michelin Guide, however if you want to try this place you should go to one of their many restaurants in Hong Kong and try out their wonton & noodles.

The next place that I'm going to try is Cheung Hing Kee Shanghai Pan Fried Buns 祥興記上海生煎包 in Tsim Sha Tsui. They were also in the michelin guide and have many locations now in Hong Kong. They make pan fried buns are also known as Sheng Jiao Bao and they are a Shanghai specialty. They are quite similar to Xiao Long Bao, which are soup dumplings. The outter wrapper for SJB is a bit thicker and chewier and how they are cooked is a bit different. While XLB is steamed, SJB is fried and steamed to give you a nice crispy texture on the bottom and soft on the top. Both of them contain some soup gelatin in the filling that turns into a soup while they cook. It was my first time eating SJB, it's not a common dish to see back where I live. This dish was phenomenal, I highly recommend it!

Also nearby is Fat Boy 第三代肥仔, which serves interesting array of skewers made from kidney, liver, octopus, heart, and other organs. I've had liver, heart, and some of these organs before, usually in Vietnamese cuisine this would be eating with some nuoc mam (fish sauce). The one's that caught my eye were the orange and red pieces which were the octopus, sausage, and intestines. The flavor on these were very clean, a bit chewy and tender which was nice. My least favorite was the sausage, I'm not sure what meat was inside of it however it was a bit too gamey for me.

The last place that we are headed too is Yum Cha located on the 3rd Floor of Attitude on Granville Hotel. This restaurant is one of the most photogenic places that I've been too. Ideally I wanted to try many things here however most of the dishes that I wanted to try are only available in the morning for dim sum. I ended up trying a few things here and they look quite amazing, my favorite out of the three dishes were the Molten Egg Custard buns. Although I didn't try everything here, I would say that my impressions of this place is that it has pretty good food, but not amazing, visually beautiful, has some of the cute dim sum characters, and quite expensive when compared to other places in Hong Kong (comparable to what I would be paying back in the U.S.). However don't let that deter you from coming here if you want to try it, since I only tried 3 dishes here! I would recommend you coming in the morning if you wanted to visit this restaurant and also go in a bigger group so you can try out more things.
