Here's what a day in my life looks like in India when my family visits from New Zealand! We hosted my parents at our homes in New Delhi and Bahadurgarh, Haryana, so they could meet Manisha's parents and extended family.
I'll take you through our day from the time we wake up and I make my favourite masala chai until my parents leave that night to the airport.
Before this, our families travelled around India's Golden Triangle together. But this was the first time they were spending an entire day together at home where they could relax.

My Father-in-Law's Political Rally in India ✔️ WHAT AN EXPERIENCE ????
My father-in-law, Prem Singh Malik, is entering Indian politics! Come with me as we attend his political rally in Hansi, Haryana.
Needless to say, I've never experienced anything quite like this before. We rode through Hansi, population 86,770, in a motorcade greeting everybody we passed. We stopped to give speeches, dance, and finally ended up at a community centre for a big Haryanvi feast of chole, puri, and jalebi.

It's not normal in Indian culture for them to marry outside of their caste or social standing, not least to a foreigner! Join me at a real arranged marriage in an Indian village in rural Rajasthan. Experience the Hindu wedding food, ceremony, rituals, party, and the bride leaving to her husband's house (Vidai ceremony). I'll tell you my thoughts on why arranged marriage isn't as bad as foreigners think it is too!

I start with a tour of the bride's village house. Then I get interested in the wedding food which is cooking out the back of her home. The entire village has been invited to come and eat lunch to celebrate the wedding. I show you how Pani Puris (Gol Gappa) are made too.
After I eat that yummy Indian wedding lunch, I give my opinion and reaction to arranged marriages in India and love marriages in the West.
Then we discover the dinner food, and it's a massive feast for an Indian village. They have an enormous selection of Indian street food, curry, and Indian sweets all set up in the village town square. It's Indian foodie heaven! My favourite dishes are the Chilla and Aloo Tikki.
Then, after dinner and dancing, the Groom arrives to take his bride. It's time to say goodbye to the bride as she leaves in her husband's car and goes to his house.
This Shaadi (wedding) took place in a real Indian village on the border of Haryana and Rajasthan in India.

Saving My Grandma from Scammers
I arrived at my Grandmother's house to find a scammer calling her! I took the phone off her and dealt with him. After that, you'll hear from my Grandma talk about her experiences being scammed before by tech support scammers.
Previously she had been scammed for $619 / ₹33,000 by scammers scaring her into thinking her computer was comprised by hackers. She's also received calls from scammers saying that her internet connection was about to be terminated and another time threatened that if she didn't pay the Police would be called.
Her phone number is clearly on a scammer's list and being sold around to different scam call centres.
Please educate your elders about scam calls ????.
Also, the call was definitely not from Wellington. I got in touch with the phone provider who owned that number and they said the call came from offshore.

The Indian villagers were very welcoming and I got to see and learn how to live the simple life from my girlfriend's family in this village on the border of Rajasthan and Haryana. This wasn't a tourist village, it's a real and remote village where foreigners do not go.

Are the days of joint families over in the UK?
The famous joint families culture of India has few takers with NRIs in the UK. Most feel the community has changed over the years with the younger generation now preferring nuclear families to taking care of their parents. But there are still others who feel that children and parents can still be close and stay connected even if you are not in a joint family.
Adopted by an Emirati Family... Emirati Culture Found! ????
After I vlogged complaining that I couldn't find Emirati people or culture in Dubai, an Emirati family contacted me and invited me to spend time with them. And what a time I had!
This Emirati family adopted me and took me behind the scenes of life as an Emirati. We explored everything that makes up Emirati culture: their food, religion, history, and the desert! You might also be shocked to see how interested in the Indian culture they are too; they're big Bollywood, Salman Khan, and Shah Rukh Khan fans.
If you want to meet Emirati people and experience Emirati culture when you travel to the UAE, you MUST get out of Dubai. Dubai is just for business, shopping, foreigners, and tourism. There's only around 12% of Emiratis living there; it's made for foreigners. Get outside and go to Abu Dhabi, Ajman, Fujairah, Ras Al Khaimah, Sharjah and Umm Al Quwain, and you'll experience real Emirati culture and the beautiful people of the UAE. I can't wait to go back!
