Exploring El Paredón: Paradise on Guatemala’s Pacific Surf Coast | Travel Vlog
Welcome to our first vlog from our backpacking trip in Guatemala!
On Guatemala's Pacific Coast is the tiny surf town of El Paredón ????????????♂️ Dan spent a week here in 2019 and back then there was barely more than a couple of hostels/hotels, and now it is becoming a buzzy surf spot and popular travel destination.
It is the perfect spot to spend a few days relaxing in tropical paradise, exploring the volcanic black sand beaches and mangroves, and also catching some waves if you can. Unfortunately when we were there, the waves were way too huge to surf.
Our recommendations:
???? Stay at Casa Zala the most tranquil and beautiful Airbnb
???? Eat at Pez Paredón for tacos, Yoli's for ceviche and Sandra's for fish and just general local food
???? Take a tuk tuk to Playa 14, the beach club owned by a craft brewery
???? Catch at least one sunrise and one sunset on the beach - they truly are so magical
???? If you are there in the right season (Sept-Dec, we weren't this time but Dan was last time), wake up early to watch the baby turtle release.

We are back travelling! This time, we chose to explore Guatemala, the Land of the Maya! This Central America country is loaded with natural, historical and cultural appeal!
From ancient Maya cities lost deep in the lush rainforest to intimidating smouldering volcanoes, through jungle-fringed lakes in the highlands, colourful colonial cities and distinctive indigenous culture, everything in Guatemala is magical.
Guatemala is of course the birthplace and heartland of the ancient Maya where traditions and religious rituals mingled with Catholic belief continue to thrive,.
Guatemalan delicious food is a based of Maya cuisine with Spanish colonial influences. Dishes prominently include corn, beans, rice and chillies. it is also the birthplace of chocolate and home of the popular Hass avocado! And of course, their arabica beans produced one of the best coffee in the world.
After chilling for a few days in the candy-colored city of Antigua, a local Guatemalan recommended us to head to the pacific coast at El ''muy tranquilo'' Paredon beach.
This secluded sleepy fishing village with a beautiful glossy black sand beach is perfect to unwind and chill thanks to its bohemian vibe and stunning sunsets.
Mainly a weekend destination for Guatemalans, El Paredon hasn't made it onto everyone's radar, yet! creating a more authentic and undiscovered vibe. But this beach town is becoming more and more popular amongst backpackers and surfers and is growing rapidly.
It has made a name for itself has one of the top surfing destinations with some very cool beach parties at night.
The only sad downside of this place was the trash and plastic pollution found on the beach...

TRAVELING FROM ANTIGUA TO EL PAREDON | No A/C but awesome sunset!

Today we took a semi private mini van ride from Antigua to El Paredon in Guatemala.
The ride was not so long, only a few hours, however it was super hot. The van did not have air conditioning, and El Paredon was 95 degrees Fahrenheit.
The hostel we stayed at is called the Mellow Hostel, and we could not recommend it more! It has such good food, and really fun vibes. It's also only a 2 minute walk to the beach!
We would 100% recommend booking the air conditioned rooms there. Those are only $1 a night more than the non air conditioned rooms, but they were all booked out :(((.
Once we arrived, we ate some food and watched a beautiful sunset, before heading back to go to sleep!

Welcome to the next Bali, Indonesia! In this video, I take you to the small town of El Paredon, Guatemala on the Pacific Coast, which I think will be the new Bali in 5 years. After visiting both Bali and El Paredon, I noticed a lot of similarities and I think that the beautiful town of El Paredon could very well become the next Bali in the coming years. El Paredon reminded me of what Bali would have been like before all of the tourists started flocking to this tropical island in Indonesia rather than Bali 2021. This is not a Bali vlog or a video about traveling Bali, but rather the beautiful town of El Paredon, Guatemala!
In this Guatemala Travel Vlog, I will show you exactly why I think El Paredon is going to become the Bali of Central America. Similar to Bali, Indonesia, El Paredon has a warm and tropical climate with both a dry and rainy season. Both Bali and El Paredon are home to incredibly friendly locals, delicious food, and beautiful black sand beaches great for surfing. I really think that Bali living 10 years ago would have been very similar to living in El Paredon, Guatemala right now.
In this travel vlog, I take you with me as I eat an authentic Guatemalan breakfast and go to an authentic bakery. At this bakery, I end up making friends with the local owners and help them make some traditional pastries, called Pan Dulce, which translates to Sweet Bread. After breakfast, I take you back to my accommodation in El Paredon and show you why it reminds me so much of my trip to Bali, Indonesia 4 years ago. This place has a beautiful blue pool, tall palm trees, sleek white walls, hammocks, and an overall great atmosphere. After taking you to my Bali style accommodation, I show you one of El Paredon’s newest cafes, where the design and atmosphere was inspired by the owner’s previous trip to Bali.
To end the vlog, I show you one of El Paredon’s magical sunsets on the black sand beach before taking you to eat some street tacos for dinner. If you visit Guatemala, making the trip to El Paredon is an absolute must!

I CRASHED… MANY TIMES in 1 DAY… [Vlog 45] El Paredon, Guatemala
In today's motorcycle diary, I continue my journey toward El Paredon beach town in Guatemala and while taking the rumored road to have thieves, it turned out they were the least of my challenges. I end up going down on the bike THREE times, it was rough. Falling on the motorcycle NEVER feels good and one was more like a crash. However, see why at the end of the day, it's something I deeply appreciated. Hope you enjoy watching my laughable off-roading skills and my struggles with a heavy bike! So grateful for all my road angels who are always there to give me a helping hand.

3 days in El Paredon, Guatemala | Vlog
Arrived to Guatemala 15th march, Thursday and decided to go visit El Paredon for the weekend. Stayed at: The Driftwood Surfer - and also went out to watch turtles. Amazing vibes!
It's a surf heaving for surf and beach lovers.
