We Visited Pinel Island - St.Maarten's Best - Kept Secret
Hello guys, greetings from Pinel Island!
Pinel Island is only ten minutes from St. Maarten and is known as the place where locals go. Pinel Island is a preserved area and is a very popular snorkeling, kayak, and hiking spot. Later on, we will explore the island and visit the only three facilities on the island: two restaurants and a gift shop. Also, you can walk around the island to see amazing wildlife, nature, and a couple of other beaches, but because of coral reefs and rough waters, swimming is almost impossible.

Saint Martin (French: Saint-Martin; Dutch: Sint Maarten) is an island in the northeast Caribbean Sea, approximately 300 km (190 mi) east of Puerto Rico. The 87 square kilometres (34 sq mi) island is divided roughly 60:40 between the French Republic (53 square kilometres (20 sq mi)) and the Kingdom of the Netherlands (34 square kilometres (13 sq mi)), but the Dutch part is more populated than the French part. The division dates to 1648. The northern French part comprises the Collectivity of Saint Martin and is an overseas collectivity of the French Republic. As part of France, the French part of the island is also part of the European Union. The southern Dutch part comprises Sint Maarten and is one of four constituent countries that form the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
The Netherlands Antilles was a constituent country of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. The country consisted of several island territories located in the Caribbean Sea. The islands were also informally known as the Dutch Antilles.

After Saint Lucia we visit many more gems in the Caribbean. Whether they will match with Saint Lucia remains to be seen! With the best views of the gigantic pitons, overnight stays in tree houses in the middle of the jungle and the most beautiful snow-white beaches, Saint Lucia is high on the list of the most beautiful islands in the world. We sleep in Soufrière, visit the Diamond Waterfalls, hike the Tet Paul Nature Trail and visit the beaches Anse Chastanet, Sugar Beach and Jalousie Plantation Beach. From the west, we drive our small jeep through the rainforest to the south and east, before relaxing at an all-inclusive resort in the north.
This year we travel all over the world and after the Canary Islands, Oman, Cape Verde and Martinique, Saint Lucia is our fifth destination. Last week we had the opportunity to visit the Beautiful Island Of Sint Maarten/ Saint Martin. What makes it an interesting destination is that two countries share it. To the north is the French side of the island called St Martin. To the south, which is the Dutch side of the island, they call it Sint Maarten.

About Sint Maarten: is a constituent country of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in the Caribbean. Sint Maartens capital is Philipsburg. Collectively, Sint Maarten and the other Dutch islands in the Caribbean are often called the Dutch Caribbean. Before 10 October 2010, Sint Maarten was known as the Island Territory of Sint Maarten (Dutch: Eilandgebied Sint Maarten), and was one of six island territories (eilandgebieden) that constituted the Netherlands Antilles. Sint Maarten has the status of an overseas country and territory (OCT) and is not part of the EU. On 6 and 7 September 2017, the island was hit by Category 5+ Hurricane Irma, which caused widespread and significant damage to buildings and infrastructure. As of 2018, Sint Maarten has the 14th largest GDP per capita in the world (including territories) when measured by purchasing power parity, over three times as high as its French counterpart. // Saint-Martin is an island in the northeast Caribbean Sea, approximately 300 km (190 mi) east of Puerto Rico.
