8 INCREDIBLE things to do in Kigali for under 15 USD
Kigali, Rwanda, is definitely one of the cleanest cities in Africa, if not the cleanest. A couple decades ago, most people had written Rwanda off but a visit to the country's capital opened my eyes to this gem! The city is set up on a landscape of hills hence the tag-name 'The City of A Thousand Hills' which makes for splendid viewing especially at night when the lights give the illusion of a city sprinkled by starlight. I spent a couple of days in Kigali and came up with 8 things anyone can do in Kigali under 15 USD that include:
- A motari city ride.
- Eating 'akabenz' which is a popular dish among the locals.
- Renting a mushanana; cultural dress for locals.
- Visiting the INEMA Arts Center
Among many other enjoyable activities guaranteed to make you experience and enjoy the Rwandese way of life. Have you ever been to Kigali? Is it on your travel bucketlist?

Africa’s cleanest and safest country blew my expectations out of the water!
There’s nothing better than having your expectations blown away by a city, especially when its media coverage hasn’t always been great. From what I saw and experienced, there’s a lot more the country has to offer. It shows what a country can do over time and with the right leadership. It’s no wonder The NBA's BAL (Basketball Africa League) chose to launch its billion-dollar league in Rwanda. Rwanda is home to a booming infrastructure a rapidly growing city, a fantastic culture, and one of the lowest corruption indexes in the world. On top of all of this, It has stunning landscapes and beautiful nature that’ll blow your mind.

A Tourist guide to Kigali, the capital of Rwanda
My arrival into the Rwandan capital coincided with the 18th anniversary of the Genocide. I check into the Top Tower Hotel and see the sights, including a city centre walk, a trip on the back of a motorbike taxi, a visit to the Genocide Memorial Centre, and a beer in the Milles de Collines, the hotel made famous by the movie 'Hotel Rwanda'.
