night time city view of Kaula Lumpur in Malaysia

Malaysia is a unique travel experience that is much different from its neighbors. From the dense urban jungle of Kuala Lumpur to the pristine beaches of the Perhentian Islands, Malaysia is a beautiful and often underrated country. Spend the day with a traditional tribe or in a tea plantation in the Cameron Highlands or trek through the huge national parks of Gunung Mulu and Taman Negara, encountering incredible wildlife including tigers and orangutans. Make sure to head to Borneo and explore the jungle, and dive at Spidan, one of the best dive locations in the world. Malaysia has a ton of stuff to offer travelers and is often quickly visited by travelers who breathe through on their way to or from Thailand. Take this country slowly, enjoy all the great Indian food and curries, and get off the beaten path to get the country to yourself.

5 Reasons I Love Living in Malaysia ???????? Kuala Lumpur Malaysia Travel

In today's travel vlog, I discuss the 5 Reasons I Love Living in Malaysia and plan on returning to Malaysia often in the future. I am currently in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia with Remote Year. I have visited Kuala Lumpur Malaysia a lot in the past during my time in the Navy.

KL Malaysia has always been one of my favorite places to visit and I travel Malaysia as much as I can. The Malaysian culture is amazing. It's a melting pot of various different cultures. The Malaysian food is probably the best in the world - you have everything from street food to world class restaurants. Kuala Lumpur street food is right up there with Bangkok street food in my opinion. My absolute favorite malasian food is nasi lemak. Nasi Lemak isn't for everyone but you have to at least give it a try!

I can say without any reservation: I love Malaysia! Now go get some Malay food - definitely some nasi lemak. Also don't forget to check out the Petronas Towers in Kuala Lumpur!

I also talk about George Town Penang as a spot you should check out. It's a great cheap Malaysia spot! George Town Malaysia was on Lonely Planet's top places to visit list a few years ago for good reason. The malaysian food in George Town is probably the best in Malaysia.

Traveler Facts About Me:

* I prefer rolling luggages over backpacks

* I always bring power extension cords when I travel.

* I always have problems sticking to my budget when I’m traveling.

* The worst thing that happened to me while traveling so far was when I was held by the immigration officers in Paris. I made a mistake in my visa application and I actually overstayed in France. But all is well, they did let me go. And they were very nice to me.

11 Amazing Things To Do in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Get more things to do in Kuala Lumpur, and travel tips:

I'm Mark Wiens and thank you very much for watching this video about a few of the top things to do in Kuala Lumpur, a city that just happens to be one of my favorite cities to visit in Southeast Asia. It's the largest and probably the most important and influential city in Malaysia and truly has some amazing sites to offer. Along with modern skyrise towers like the Petronas Towers, there are still lots of traditional historic buildings as well. The awesome mixture of cultures, the mix of traditional and modern, and very importantly, the outstanding cuisine is what makes Kuala Lumpur such a great city to explore!

1. On this list of top things to do in Kuala Lumpur I first stop by the most famous landmark of the the city: the Petronas Towers. These twin giant sky scrapers are huge, and they literally reach towards the heavens and touch the clouds. On the bottom of the Petronas Towers is a pretty fancy shopping mall while the tops of the towers are filled with offices. On the 41st and 42nd floor, there is a sky bridge which connects the two towers together and which is open for visitors. Years ago, it used to be free entrance but unfortunately now they have started to charge a rather steep 80 Malaysian Ringgits per person.
2. After the visiting the Petronas towers, number two on the list is the historical district of old Kuala Lumpur. Visiting and walking around the area is one of the top things to do in Kuala Lumpur and you shouldn't miss the opportunity. From Merdeka Square to the old railroad station, you'll see some amazing architecture and buildings. Another must visit is the National Mosque, which is known as Masjid Negara. With a capacity of 15,000, this is the central and most visited mosque in the city.
3. The Menara KL Tower, along with the Petronas Towers, is one of the dominating features of Kuala Lumpur's skyline. At 421 meters in height, it's one of the world's tallest communications towers. I was lucky enough to be invited to the annual BASE jumping event which was held at the KL Tower so I had a pass to go to the top for the incredible view and to see the event ( The KL Tower also offer look out viewpoints and a number of restaurants where you can dine with an incredible view.
4. Number 4 is Little India which is better known as Brickfields. Kuala Lumpur is home to many Indian's many from the south of the country. Brickfields is a popular place to browse, shop for all sorts of Indian products and most importantly to eat at some seriously delicious Indian restaurants. If you're looking for good Indian food in Kuala Lumpur, check out this restaurant:
5. Chinatown, located on Petaling Street, is one of the biggest Kuala Lumpur attractions. It's mostly known for it street shopping and restaurants. You can find all sorts of fake brand names and nearly everything imaginable.
6. Thean Hou Temple is one of the most impressive Daoist temples in Kuala Lumpur. It's free to visit and offers insights into the Hainanese community in the city and there are also great views of the city.
7. Central Market, is a top tourist shopping attraction in Kuala Lumpur. Though many of the products are rather touristy, there are some good things waiting to be found.
8. Within central Kuala Lumpur are the KL Lake Gardens and Bird Park. It makes a great tropical escape to the bustling city life.
9. The Batu Caves, located just outside the central part of the city is one of the best things to do in Kuala Lumpur. The caves and shrines are one of the most sacred Hindu sites outside of India.
10. Chow Kit Market is the central fresh wet market in the city. Everyday thousands of shoppers get their Malaysian food ingredients at this interesting market.
11. Malaysian food is the ultimate attraction to visiting Kuala Lumpur. With a great mixture of local Malay, Chinese, and Indian, there's no shortage of incredible dining that will leave you satisfied and hungry for more! For myself, eating is one of the best things to do in Kuala Lumpur!

Hope you enjoyed this list and hope you have a wonderful visit!

15 Days in Malaysia : A Budget Trip (550 Ringgit) - 2019

This the last video of my Malaysia trip - 2019, How expensive is Malaysia? As video title shows that I lived 15 days in Malaysia through different cities, which are:

Kuala Lumpur
Langkawi
Kuala Perlis
Penang
Malacca and
Johor Bahru

Let's talk about expenses, first accommodation, the minimum price I spend on living which was Ringgit 13 and the maximum was Ringgit 20. Usually, I stayed at hostels, some of them are very good with FREE BREAKFAST. I lived in one hostel in Penang, the hostel owner has two Nationalities Pakistani and Russian, he was very helpful person and told me, eat breakfast and drink tea whole entire day for free and the hostel price was on Booking.com Ringgit 18, and I got on spot just on Ringgit 18. I enjoyed two days there.

I booked four domestic flights but just flown two for Ringgit 107.
In the last I just say 'Selamat Jalan' which means Goodbye in Malaysian language.

HOW EXPENSIVE IS MALAYSIA? - COSTS OF LIVING & TRAVEL

How expensive is Malaysia? In this video we will cover costs for accommodation like Airbnb & Hotels, transport like Uber & Grab, eating Malaysian and Western food at restaurants and shopping at the supermarket! All the prices have come from our time spent living in Kuala Lumpur.

We've found Malaysia to be one of the most reasonably priced countries we've ever been to, eating out and transport especially is super cheap! It's important to note also though that the exchange rate of 5 ringgit to 1 pound helps us out a lot, the same would go for US dollars, meaning that it's an ideal place for living in as a digital nomad!
