More than 61% of the total land area is covered in forest
Unlike many other countries today, the forests of Slovenia are actually expanding. Today, it accounts for more than 12480 square kilometers.
In these forests, one could also find the world’s smallest mammal, called the Etruscan Shrew. If you like to spend time in nature, you’ll love the Slovenian forests, especially during autumn before the leaves fall.
Slovenia has more than 90.000 beekeepers
With a total of 2 million people, it’s quite fascinating that about 90.000 Slovenes are beekeepers. Honey is definitely a delicacy here, and if you have the chance you should both taste and buy some home for your family and friends.
There are more than 1000 brown bears living in the forests

The mysterious pile dwellers of the Alps lived in Slovenia
The prehistoric pile dwellings in Slovenia are estimated to be from 5000-1500 B.C. In 2002, the oldest wheel ever encountered was discovered and it is estimated to be at least 5000 years old.
Slovenia has the second largest ski flying hill in the world.
Planica is an epic place for ski-lovers, especially if you like heights. The Ski Jump here is legendary and many world records have been set here. For example, the world record by Bjoern Einar Romoeren of 239 meters.
Lake Bled is the most popular tourist destination
In recent years, the popularity of Lake Bled has once again risen, and hundreds of thousands come here each year to enjoy the beauty of Lake Bled.

Starting off in Lake Bled, we swam in one of the most postcard looking lakes you’ve ever seen before heading off to sail in the Adriatic. From here we explored the Soča Valley — a region with turquoise blue rivers and limitless adventure options. Farm to table food and family-run wineries are a way of life in Slovenia, and we were stoked to spend time with world famous chef Ana RoŠ from HiŠa Franko restaurant as well as Aleš Kristančič, the storied winemaker of Movia vineyards. Don’t overlook this country when thinking of your next travels to Europe.

I spent 7 days travelling round one of Europe's best kept secrets, the gorgeous country of Slovenia.
Starting in the picturesque capital of Ljubljana, I then made my way round to Lake Bohinj, where I took the cable car up to Mt Vogel.
I went white water rafting near Bled before swimming in the crystal clear waters of Lake Bled itself.
Then I travelled round to the Soča Valley and stayed in Bovec where I went canyoning, zip-lining and took the cable car up to Mt Kanin.

Ljubljana, Slovenia Art Nouveau (Secession) in short with pictures and fun facts
Tina shows you the most beautiful buildings of Ljubljana’s Secession and brings up interesting facts about the Art Nouveau movement.
The filming was done mostly in Miklošičeva street and Prešeren square. Pictures were taken in different locations around the city, easily reachable on foot.

We are Oskar & Dan, two boys from Sweden who decided to change the course of our lives, drop out of university and live life full-time.
