????10 Top Rated Tourist Attractions In Andorra Top 10 Things To Do In Andorra Popular Video

If you want to learn more about 10 top rated tourist attractions in andorra, you need to check out:

This video is about 10 top rated tourist attractions in andorra valuable information but also try to cover the following subject:
-top 10 things to do in andorra
-top 10 tourist attractions in andorra
-tourist attractions in andorra

1. The Capital City: Andorra la Vella.

Perched high in the eastern Pyrenees, Andorra la Vella - the capital of Andorra - is this small nation's busiest tourist attraction. At an altitude of 1,029 meters, it's one of the world's highest capital cities. It's also one of the smallest, too, with a population of less than 23,000 people.

2. La Casa de la Vall.

LaCasa de la Vall is one of the top attractions in Andorra la Vella. Built in 1580 and now the seat of government, it's notable for its ornate coat of arms and other historical emblems of the country's former rulers.

3. Winter Wonderland: Vallnord.

One of the most popular winter sports destinations in the Pyrenees, Vallnord draws skiers and snowboarders from across Europe to its many fine slopes. Located in the northern part of Andorra and boasting a peak altitude of 2,625 meters, Vallnord is really three unique ski resorts in one: Arcalis, Pal, and Arinsal. Together these three resorts provide a vast amount of terrain to explore.

4. Sant Joan de Caselles Church.

A little way north of the picturesque village of Canillo is the chapel of Sant Joan de Caselles (Església de Sant Joan de Caselles). Considered one of the country's finest Romanesque churches, this splendid old stone building dates from the 11th century and contains many interesting features.

5. Caldea.

Found in the heart of Andorra la Vella, the huge Caldea spa complex (it's the largest in Europe) dominates the capital's skyline with its magnificent glass pyramid tower.

6. Ordino and Casa d'Areny-Plandolit.

The chief destination in Andorra's picturesque Valira del Nord Valley is the small town of Ordino, idyllically located at the base of the 2,740-meter-tall Casamanya mountain. Shutterbugs will find it's one of the most beautiful places to photograph in Andorra.

7. Postal Museum, Ordino.

Also worth visiting while in Ordino is the Postal Museum. Highlights of a visit include audio-visual displays outlining the growth and development of the country's postal service, including the delivery by mail of the country's first pair of skis.

8. La Cortinada and the Church of Sant Martí.

The village of La Cortinada is one of the most attractive smaller communities in Andorra.

Surrounded by meadows and rugged mountains, the village is home to the lovely 12th-century Church of Sant Martí de la Cortinada. This well-preserved medieval place of worship is notable for its Romanesque frescoes, its charnel-house, and a beautiful old dovecot.
9. The Town of Les Escaldes.

The Andorran town of Les Escaldes, just a few minutes' drive from Andorra la Vella, takes its name from the many hot springs dotted around the community. Known for their high sulphur and nitrogen content, the town's waters range from a pleasant 22 degrees Celsius to a scalding 66 degrees Celsius and were well known as far back as Roman times for their medicinal qualities.

10. Touring the Valira d'Orient Valley.

A highlight of a visit to Andorra is the chance to explore this small mountain nation's stunning scenery from the comfort of a car. One of the best routes is along the Valira d'Orient Valley.

Andorra fun facts:

1. Andorra is the 16th smallest country in the world by land and the 11th smallest by population. It is only about a 40km drive from one side of the country to the other side. The total population of Andorra is only about 77,000 citizens and residents.

2. Andorra is the world’s only co-principality. A principality is a place ruled by a prince. Monaco is an example of a principality. Andorra, however, is a co-principality. They have two princes who jointly share the title of prince. Surprisingly, neither of the two princes are from Andorra. One prince is the President of France, Emmanuel Macron. The other co-prince is the Bishop of Urgell, who is currently Joan Enric Vives Sicília. The position is a constitutional one similar to the British Monarchy and holds no real power.

3. Andorra is the only country in the world with Catalan as its official language.

4. Andorra has never been in a war in almost 1,000 years. Given its non-strategic location in the Pyrenees Mountains and lack of natural resources, Andorra has been without conflict almost since Charlemagne came through to fight the Moors. Technically, Andorra did declare war on Germany in WWI, but it never sent anyone into the conflict. Given Andorra’s lack of participation in WWI, they were forgotten about in the Treaty of Versailles and didn’t officially declare peace with Germany until 1957!

5. Andorra has no national bank and has never had its own currency. Andorra currently uses the Euro as its currency. Before that, it primarily used the Spanish Peseta and sometimes the French Franc. There is no national bank in Andorra, so it has to use private banks if the country wants to incur debt.

6. Andorra is not part of the EU, EFTA, or the Eurozone. Andorra is not a member of most of the major European associations. Even though it uses the Euro, the country is not technically part of the Eurozone. It has a special relationship with the EU in which it follows the trade rules for the industry, but not for agriculture. It’s also not a party to the Schengen Treaty, however, you can only access Andorra via Spain and France, which are party to the treaty. And since Andorra doesn’t have an airport, it’s de facto subject to the agreement.

7. Andorra la Vella is the highest capital city in Europe. At an elevation of 1,023 meters (3356 feet), there is no higher elevation capital in all of Europe. In fact, it’s the 10th highest city of any kind in Europe and boasts a population of over 10,000.

8. Andorra has the most tourists per capita in the world. With over 10,000,000 visitors per year and a population of only 77,000, Andorra has the most visitors in the world per capita. The vast majority of the visitors to Andorra are Spanish and French citizens who go there to shop and purchase fuel at cheaper prices.

ANDORRA: EUROPE'S FORGOTTEN NATION

Brian travels to the tiny European principality of Andorra, the birthplace of Catalan culture. Despite sharing a border with Spain and France, and being just a three hour drive from Barcelona, few people have heard of this nation, due to centuries of isolation. It truly is Europe's last forgotten nation.

After traveling through the charming villages and windy roads of the French Pyrenees, Brian arrives in the small Andorran border town of Pas de la Casa. After making a brief stop at scenic overlook, Brian travels to a picturesque mountain valley, where he visits a traditional Andorran village. Lastly, he heads to the nation's capital of Andorra la Vella, famous for its duty free shopping. However, Brian wastes no time at the modern shops, and instead heads to the city's old quarter. After exploring the city, he crosses back into Catalonia to conclude his journey at a roadside restaurant.
