SUMMARY:
- Big Ben isn't the name of the clock or the tower it’s on – it’s the bell inside!
- At an astounding 443 feet (135 m) in height, the London Eye is the 4th tallest Ferris wheel in the world. A single rotation on this bad boy takes roughly 30 minutes to complete.
- The towering British Library in King’s Cross, London has lots and lots of books for you to enjoy. It’s got over 170 million items in its catalog!
- London has THE oldest and one of the largest underground transport systems on our planet. The London “tube” includes 270 fully functioning stations and at least 40 more that aren’t even in use.
- In Scotland, you can take the world’s shortest flight between Westray and the Papa Westray Islands. Get ready because this flight will take…just 2 minutes!
- Make sure you don’t stick a stamp with the Queen upside down on an envelope in the UK. Otherwise, it’s considered an act of treason!
- It’s illegal to wear an armor suit into the House of Parliament. I know, I know, it’s always been on your bucket list, but you’ll just have to forget about it and wear your armor somewhere else!
- The British drink it more than any other nation in the world. For instance, they drink 20 times more tea than Americans do!
- If you make it to 100 years old in the UK, The Queen will send you a telegram and wish you a happy birthday. You can get another one if you celebrate your 105th birthday, and still more each year after that! How thoughtful!
- You won’t find any US eggs in the UK. They’re illegal since they get washed.
- Speaking of strange laws, it’s actually illegal to go to the cinema on a Sunday in Northern Ireland. You can even be fined up to £50, or roughly $65, for breaking this law!
- In the early 1800s, just about a quarter of all women in Britain were named Mary. Sophia has held onto the #1 spot for 9 years in a row, and Mary didn’t even make it to the top 25 in 2018!

This History of London England| The Culture of London England| London England Travel Vlog| London

The Romans founded London about 50 AD. Its name is derived from the Celtic word Londinios, which means the place of the bold one. London has always been a city that represented power and authority. Where monarchy is the government system, with Queen Elizebeth being at the Helm for the British royal family, continuing to captivate Londoners, the media, and the world. Especially with Meghan Markle, with speculation of her possibly being one of the first person of color to enter the British royal family in the history of England. The metropolitan area of London with a population 14 million is largest in the world and full of culture. People from all over the world dream of visiting this eclectic cosmopolitan city.

Art: Coming back to London gave me an opportunity to show my family some of the things I experienced.

When you think of London, you think about Big Ben and all its glory, you have the London Eye, the double decker bus and the iconic subway system called the tube. Big ben is undergoing contruction right now. The london Eye has an amazing skyline view of the city if you’re willing to wait in line, and cruising around on the double decker bus is a great way to city the on the ground level. But if you wanna get anywhere fast? The Tube is the way to go. In my opinion, the metro in london, is more organized, reliable and expansive than New York. You can get to any suburb, north, south, east or west within a reasonable amount of time. Which makes traveling plans that much more easy.

The history within Lodon is undeniable, even with how modern the city has become, you can still see its old roots in the buildings. But the British say, if you want to get the real vibe of the United Kingdom, you gotta get yourself out of the city.

Art: My family wanted to see Stonehenge. So off we went in the countryside to see it.

For centuries, historians and archaeologists have been puzzled over this prehistoric monument that Neolithic builders built for an estimated 1,500 years. While many modern scholars now agree that it served as a sacred burial ground, they still cant explain how a civilization without modern technology—or even the wheel—created this mighty circle of upright megalithic stones. Stonehenge’s outer ring consists of sarsen sandstone slabs that hail from local quarries, but its inner ring is made up of smaller rocks called bluestones that scientists have traced to the Preseli Hills in Wales, some 200 miles from where Stonehenge sits on England’s Salisbury Plain. How did the workers who broke ground on Stonehenge as early as 5,000 years ago transport these 4-ton boulders over such a great distance? The world may never know.

(Fish and chips footage)

Art: Then you have the proper Full English Breakfast, consisting of bacon, eggs, and sausages (also called bangers in the U.K.). Accompanied by grilled tomato, mushrooms, fried onions, toast, and marmalade. Washing down your breaky with a cup of tea.

The meat pies, the pasty

The jewish staple salted beef bagel bake from brick lane

The Curry and halal on the east end of the city

Bens cookies

So many different dishes to devour

But only one thing surpasses delectable delight

And thats the good ole pint

from any pub on almost any corner of the city. The true community watering hole of any english nieghborhood.

Now if you had to guess, what goes good with a pint and food at your local pub? FOOTBALL. And we aint talking your american version either. International football is the most popular sport in the world. Hands down. But what makes English Footy special is that, they were the creators of the world’s most sacred game. Any english man or woman who loves the sport will tell you that with pride! The history of modern-day soccer was established in 1863. Representatives from London clubs and schools met at the Freemason’s Tavern to set up common fundamental rules

Narration: International Football may rule the globe but American Football rules Sunday. And as Sunday approaches, the Eagles have flown in, fans and the team. According to Stubhub, 41% of the tickets bought for this game came from Pennslyvania alone. which is a staggering stat because the London games are events where fans from many different teams come to watch. This goes to show again how passionate this fan base really is. everywhere the eagles go its a home game, even if we are in foreign lands.
