Here we go through some budget travel options for travelers to Switzerland, whether you are heading to Zurich, or Geneva, or Lugano, or Luzern, there are a few travel budget tips that can go a long way to help you cut the cost of your Swiss vacation. Visit Switzerland on the cheap.

You can still travel to Switzerland on a budget even though it is one of the world's most expensive countries to visit. Here's my guide on how to travel Switzerland super cheap and some money-saving tips to help you afford Switzerland based on your travel budget. Have a look at this video before you visit Switzerland. ♡

Switzerland Budget Travel Guide:
Transportation - You can get a Swiss Travel Pass that gives you unlimited travel by train, bus and boat, including premium panoramic trains, plus public transport. If you are 26 years old and below, you can avail of the Swiss Travel Pass Youth which is 15% off the normal price of a Swiss Travel Pass. You can also consider buying Supersaver tickets from the SBB App.
Accommodation - Your cheapest options are youth hostels and Airbnbs.
Food - Typically, a meal in a Swiss restaurant costs around 20-30 francs or more! Your cheapest option is to buy and cook your meals. It's also important to note that you don't have to pay for water. There are a lot of water fountains both in cities and villages. Just bring a water bottle with you and refill it.
Activities - Your things to do and places to visit in Switzerland most probably are mountain peaks and viewpoints. So, go for a hike! It's free and will help you save on transportation should you go to mountain peaks and viewpoints.
Miscellaneous - If you want to buy a cowbell, the cheapest you can find will cost you around 8 francs. (Edit: I think I found the cheapest cowbell for 5 francs in Zermatt!!!) For the Swiss Army Knife, the cheapest is 9 francs.
1 Swiss franc is approximately 1 US dollar ????
????ATTENTION????
As of January 2020, Schilthorn is no longer free with the Swiss Travel Pass. From Mürren, the cable car ride to Schilthorn is 50% off the normal price.
