Bamako's Martyrs Bridge (Documentary)
Glimpses of Mali: A documentary on the Martyrs Bridge (Pont des Martyrs) of Bamako, the Capital of Mali. This bridge connects the city of Bamako on both sides of the Niger River, the older parts in the north to its suburbs on the south of the river. The Martyrs Bridge is also called the Old Bridge. It was opened in 1957. It was renamed the Martyrs Bridge after Mali's independence in 1960.

Glimpses of Mali: Tour d'Afrique/The Tower of Africa is one of the iconic monuments and roundabouts (Traffic Circles) of Bamako, 11 December 2020. This Africa Tower has a museum and stairs leading to the top of the tower from where a panoramic view of Bamako can be seen.

Bamako is situated on the Niger River floodplain, which hampers development along the riverfront and the Niger's tributaries. Bamako is relatively flat, except to the immediate north where there is an escarpment, being what remains of an extinct volcano. The Presidential Palace and main hospital are located here.
Pont des Martyrs
Originally, the city developed on the northern side of the river, but as it grew, bridges were developed to connect the north with the south. The first of these was the Pont des Martyrs (2-lane with 2 pedestrian sections) and the King Fahd Bridge (4-lane with 2 motorcycle and 2 pedestrian sections). Additionally, there is a seasonal causeway between the eastern neighborhoods of Sotuba and Misabugu inherited from colonial times (alternated traffic on 1-lane with 5 crossing sections). The Sotuba Causeway ( Chaussée submersible de Sotuba in French, and Babilikoroni in Bamanankan) is typically under water from July to January. A third bridge (1.4 km long, 24 m large, 4-lane with 2 motorcycle and 2 pedestrian sections) is being built at the same location[10] to reduce downtown congestion, notably by trucks.

Dans cet épisode, je suis allé explorer Siby. Siby est un village situé dans la région de Koulikoro au sud du Mali. C'est un village qui regorge d'histoire hors du commun et de ressources naturelles. J'ai eu l'honneur d'en visiter quelques-uns comme l'Arche de Kamadjan. C'est un trou creusé dans la roche qui donne l'impression de voir une arche. Selon la légende, ce fut Kamandjan Kamara, un guerrier de l'époque, qui transperça la montagne avec son sabre, donnant ainsi naissance à ce magnifique site touristique. Au loin, j'ai pu apercevoir les Monts Mandingues dans un paysage spectaculaire. J'ai aussi eu le privilège de me baigner dans la cascade de Djendjeni qui est une oasis au milieu de la forêt. C’est un lieu préserver de toutes la pollution. Il est possible d'y pique-niquer et se baigner tout en respectant les lieux et obéir au règle imposer.
