#BlueLagoon in #CominoIsland, #Malta: The crystal clear waters in Blue Lagoon reflect the blue sky with a lovely cyan as well as let you see the pure white sand bottom of this part of the Mediterranean Sea. It is one of the best beaches in Malta, situated between the island of Comino and Gozo.
Comino island was named after the cumin seed that could once be found everywhere in Malta. The rocky island of Comino is a bird sanctuary and nature reserve and very few people live there permanently. The peaceful landscape consists of cliffs, two small white sand beaches, coves and creeks.
Blue Lagoon island only has an official population of less than 10 people. This way, these Maltese waters are sure to remain clean and transparent for years to come. During the Middle Ages, pirates used to shelter and hide near the limestone cliffs in the rugged coastline and inside its caves.

Today we will fly above the Blue Lagoon in Comino island.
The island of Comino, part of Malta, is a must-visit location.
Blue Lagoon in Comino is the most photographed area in Malta.
Comino's population: 3 however during the season the Blue Lagoon is totally overcrowded. That's why I like to visit Comino during winter and spring time.
A few facts about the Blue Lagoon:
- The Blue Lagoon is one of the most beautiful spots around the Maltese islands.
- Crystal clear, azure water
- Main tourist attraction, very popular and busy in summer.
- Popularized in blockbuster films
- Girls, Brad Pitt was here :)
This video has been recorded in January 2020 however I'm going to get back with another one in April as during spring time there are lot of flowers and colors.

Gozo, Comino and the Blue Lagoon | Malta Travel Diary
Gozo is the second largest island in the Maltese archipelago. Packed sailing boats take day trippers to the island to visit the natural wonder of the Azure Window, immortalised in Game of Thrones since it has now sadly completely collapsed into the sea. The tiny island of Comino and its famous Blue Lagoon awaits afterwards, packed with friendly, tanned tourists who make you do crazy things like take a jet boat ride for the first time!

Die fahrt mit der Ferry kostet ca. 8-10€.

Although the beach space at the Blue Lagoon is limited and can get crowded it is still one of the beat beaches in Malta and has everything you might need.

THE BLUE LAGOON - COMINO
Situated between Malta and Gozo, the smaller island of Comino is a paradise for snorkelers, divers, windsurfers and ramblers.
Only 3.5 square kilometers, Comino is car-free and apart from one hotel, is virtually uninhabited.
The island's main attraction is the Blue Lagoon. In summer, this sheltered inlet of shimmering aquamarine water over white sand is very popular with day-trippers.
Comino is also worth a visit in winter, and is ideal for walkers and photographers. With no urban areas or cars on the island, one can easily smell the scent of wild thyme and other herbs.
