Oh hello, you've caught me walking in downtown Montréal! Come join me on this walking tour on some of Montréal's most popular hotspots and scenic cityscapes on this beautiful and busy October day.
Montréal, nestled in the south of the french speaking province of Québec, is Canada's second largest city. The majority of Montréal is on an Island in the Saint Lawrence River and the city is named after Mt. Royal, the mountain smack in the heart of the city. Its boroughs, surround the mountain and include neighbourhoods ranging from the old cobblestoned French colonial Vieux-Montréal to the bohemian Plateau.
We're going to explore the busy commerce and university area today, locally known as the Golden Mile and Ville-Marie, arguably the most well known downtown tourist areas. We'll walk Saint-Laurent Boulevard & Saint-Catherine's St, go through the university grounds of McGill & Quebec, walk to the base of Mt. Royal and head back down along the beautiful Victorian era houses and public buildings.
It's mid October and peak fall. The city looks beautiful, and is presented here in 4K definition with volume-edited city sounds ambience. There's a music track for the intro only, which is Travel to the City by Lesfm.

With a history stretching back more than 100 years, the Quartier des spectacles neighbourhood has always been a popular cultural and entertainment destination in Montreal.
Today we explore the Quartier des Spectacles, a super exciting Montreal neighbourhood. Every year, around 40 events take place in the Quartier, including several major festivals, such as the Festival international de jazz de Montréal , the Francos de Montréal and Just for Laughs . Two important centers are found there, that of the Place des Arts and Saint-Laurent Boulevard to the west and that of the Latin Quarterto the East.
Entering the Place des Festivals, this animated public space which often host festivals and large public gatherings was hosting local fashion in a colourful pop up market. Walking through the bustling crowds, we venture back onto the street.
The wide Sainte-Catherine Street which stretches 11 kilometres (9 miles) from west to east across the city. It is Montréal's main commercial artery and one of North America's longest and liveliest, for good reason.

René Lévesque Boulevard (French: Boulevard René-Lévesque), previously named Dorchester Boulevard/boulevard Dorchester) is one of the main streets in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
It is a main east–west thoroughfare passing through the downtown core in the borough of Ville-Marie. The street begins on the west at Atwater Avenue (though see below) and continues until it merges with Notre Dame Street East just east of Parthenais Street. This boulevard is named after former sovereignist Quebec Premier René Lévesque.
