Take a right. Not too far after this you hit Alexandros. There’s a left. Go down and after a few twists and turns you’ll end up there. If you hit Melevio on your left you’ve gone too far. What to do in Thira, Santorini?! *INSANE & BEAUTIFUL* | Fira Travel Vlog

Thira, or Fira, is one of the most popular towns in Santorini, and for a good reason! We spent the day exploring around the iconic white houses, located on a steep cliff, or caldera. The dramatic views of the Mediterranean Sea are absolutely incredible, and the authentic Greek cuisine (aka gyros) cannot be bypassed.

Check out my video from Oia, Santorini:

Santorini Travel Tips:

1. Bring EUROS (not dollars)! Or at least exchange your money as soon as you land in the airport in Thira. We went all the way to Oia with US dollars only to find out that Santorinians only accept Euros, and that the only place tp exchange money is in Thira (at any bank). We didn't have money for a taxi or bus ride, so we hitch-hiked our way back to Thira.

2. Wear sunscreen. We made the mistake of not wearing sunscreen on our first day in Santorini and got as burnt as toast. It was windy, so we did even feel the burn happening, but it definitely was.

3. Bring a jacket out with you at night. It was so hot and sunny during the day, but as soon as the sun sets and the winds pick up, it is COLD.

4. There is a super cheap (1.60 euros/person) and easy-to-use bus system that will take you anywhere you want to go in Santorini! Including to and from the airport (much cheaper than a 30 Euro taxi ride to Oia). We were originally going to rent a car, but Ivan forget his drivers license, and it ended up working out for the best! It seemed tricky to drive in those super narrow curvy roads.

5. The people are so friendly and helpful. We received exceptional service everywhere we went!

How to Find the Blue Domes in Oia Santorini

There is just one thing we needed to know when looking for fun things to do in Santorini - How to find the blue domes in Oia Santorini.

In all the photos you see of Santorini, 90% of them seem to show 3 blue domes against the brilliant sea backdrop. These blue domes are the symbol of Santorini. They are the postcard shot.

So we set out on a mission, to find these domes and to get the exact angle you see in all the postcard photos. This was in fact the most fun of all things to do in Santorini.

Follow the instructions on this video and you can't go wrong. We found 3 amazing photo spots to see these blue domes. This is the only travel guide for Santorini you will need. Your instagram feed will never be the same again!

This vlog is the first part of our day where I do a tour of our cave house ( Magic View Canava) in Oia overlooking the caldera showcasing our spectacular view! This trip to Santorini was absolutely incredible! This Santorini Family trip was nothing short of amazing.

Our Airbnb was IDEAL for a HONEYMOON in Santorini and wedding photography too. We took so many incredibly beautiful photos from our balcony it was unreal!

I recommend you go after August 15th, towards the end of August early September you will get less crowds and find great deals on flights and if you decide to travel in Sept, you will find cheaper stays on airbnb. As far as airline tickets if you book late Aug Sept you will find tickets in the $400 range from the midwest roundtrip which is great.

SANTORINI TRAVEL GUIDE (Top Things To Do In Greece) This island is best known for its stunning views of the water, amazing sunsets over Oia and the Santorini volcano. In Santorini you can find some of the most luxury and expensive hotels that are in Greece. As for where to stay in Greece? Some of the main areas to stay here include Oia which would be the most expensive and Thira which is the capital of Santorini found right in the middle and since Fira is the hub of the island you’ll have easy access to everything if you stay here. A new up in coming area for boutique hotels is Akrotiri. Even though this area is kind of far out you will be situated near some popular tourist destinations such as the red beach, archaeological park and the lighthouse.

Since there are a lot of different areas to visit in Santorini you’re going to need to figure out some transportation options. there are a few ways to get around the island the most affordable being the bus - which is actually a really nice air conditioned bus that is mainly tourists and the best part of all is it just costs just a few bucks to get to the different parts of the island. you can also hire a driver or rent your own car or ATV.

How long should you stay in Santorini? Spending around 2-4 days here will allow you to see everything and have some time to relax as well. From dining at one of the many Greek restaurants on the island to doing a day trip to the volcano. There is no shortage of both relaxing and adventurous activities here. So definitely make sure to add Santorini to your list of places to visit in Greece.

Explore Oia & Thira Santorini. This Can't Be Real? ❤️???????? Travel Guide. Things to do on the Island.

Last week we explored the lesser known areas of Santorini, found some hidden gems as well as fantastic views:

This week we explored the more well known areas of Santorini. Likely when you picture this incredible island you think of white washed buildings perched on cliff sides and blue domes. These sites can be found in the main town of Thira, the neighbouring town of Imerovigli and the very famous and most western town of Oia.

We started by exploring Thira (pronounced Fira). This is also where cruise ships dock so you’ll find quite a few people around. Because it was so full of people we didn’t stay long but moved on to Imerovigli. Here you’ll find just as beautiful views but much fewer people!

The next day we headed into Oia where we spent the afternoon at one of the most beautiful hotels on the island Canaves Oia ( Here we had lunch and got to spend some time in their gorgeous pool. Later we made our way out into the town to catch the sunset. We actually found the streets to be packed with too many people so we headed back to our quiet hotel where no one else was around (except a cat) to catch the amazing sunset.

Oia: Oia is a small town located in the north of Santorini. It is also known as 'Apano Meria' or 'Anomeria' and the inhabitants are called 'Apanomerites'. The village is approximately 150 meters above sea level. Oia was severely damaged in the 1956 earthquake and much work has been involved to implement its restoration.

What Oia is, is a very photogenic town, a maze of small shops, restaurants and cafes, almost all with spectacular views of the rest of the island and the caldera, and the remnants of a counter-culture community from back in the day when Oia actually was a quiet village.

Thira: The capital of Santorini is called Thira or sometimes called Fira. It is located in the west of the island, located on top of a cliff looking at a volcano. Santorini is the result of a incredible explosion that happened over 3500 years ago. The island has been constantly shaken by earthquakes, the last one happened this century. Thira is located around 10 kilometres from the port of Santorini (Athinios).

There are plenty of museums and a lot of places to take the perfect Instagram picture, just remember that you will find it hard to find a place without a crowd.

Santorini is an island in Greece, located in the Aegean Sea, 200 km southeast of Athens, 150 km south of Mykonos, and 140 km north of Crete. Flights to Santorini take 4 hours from London, 3.5 hours from Paris, 2 hours from Rome, and 1 hour from Athens.

The towns of Fira, Oia, Firostefani, Imerovigli, and Akrotiri cling to the 300m cliffs and have magical views of the caldera and volcano to the west. The beach towns of Kamari, Perissa, Perivolos, and Agios Georgios are on the east and south sides of the island (not the caldera). For most travelers, the best place to stay in Santorini is along the caldera.

[TRAVEL DREAMS] 4 Days in Santorini Greece | What to do in Santorini

Took the SeaJet from Mikonos to Santorini. Rented a car from the airport. That felt like a mistake because we couldn't fit our luggage and parking on the island was no picnic.

Santorini is one of the most dreamy places we've ever traveled. We couldn't believe our eyes and four days felt like one. We continued to dream by glancing at Santorini real estate prices (ha).

We stayed in two AMAZING houses -- you'll see them both featured here in this video

1) In Oia:
2) In Imerovigli:

- SITES: Oia, Imerovigli, Akrotiri, Santorini Caldera, Ancient Thera, Red Beach, White Beach, Three Bells of Fira, Byzantine Castle Ruins

- FAVORITE RESTAURANTS: Melitini, Lolita's Gelato, Roka, Panigyri Festival Food

- CITIES: Oia, Imerovigli, Thira, Fira

- SUNSETS: The sunsets on Santorini were so beautiful they literally made me cry. Incredible views from both Oia and Imerovigli. Slightly different angle but both were breath-taking. Crowds are heavy in Oia, but we had a private villa with a view, so we didn't feel that pressure.

- PRIVATE BOAT TOUR: Booked through Aegean Wonder Santorini Tours. We had a full catered meal, the entire boat to ourselves, for a very reasonable price (for what we got). Highly recommended!

Santorini, Greece Part 2 - Sunset Cruise

Santorini Sunset Cruise, Greece – August 2018 (PART 2)

Click “HD” before watching.
Sharing video highlights/slight vlog-ish of our Santorini Sunset Cruise (late upload).

Some observations/highlights during this Santorini Cruise, Greece trip:
1. Brief background – Probably one of the best activity you can do at Santorini, the Santorini Sunset at Cruise was way more romantic for me than the actual Santorini Sunset at Oia.

2. Travel time – the Tour starts afterlunch and will finish around 7pm.

3. Price - We booked for a Delphi tour (its more convenient) - SG$131.74 (around Php 5,000). (via klook). Food, wine, included.

4. Inclusion in tour - The tour includes Volcano Hike, Swimming in the Hotspring, Watching the Sunset at Cruiseship, with Wine and Buffet dinner, Transpo from your place back and forth included. A little bit of party (dancing) before the tour ends.

5. Observation – Highly recommended for newly wed couples coz the ambiance is too romantic, a bit pricey, but definitely worth trying, especially the Swimming in the Hotspring (though limited time was allotted for this). Watching the sunset inside the cruise is definitely one of the activities you will love, together with the background music they provided, surreal will definitely be an understatement.

I do not own any of the music used in this video. All rights belong to the respective owner.

Friends a.k.a. the Travel Squad visiting the beautiful country of Greece. following on the previous vlog... we’re finally going to Santorini..!!! as you can see i was quite excited.. but before we get there… we had to ride the ferry and boy was that an experience.. bearing in mind it was peak season (August).. just wasn’t expecting the ferry to be that packed and chaotic… just make sure you’re on the correct boat because they don’t check you’re tickets going in.. they will only check once you’ve stacked your bags and the boat has already left.. anyhow we arrived safely in Santorini and I got to experience driving on the other side of the road.. the views were breath taking.. so it was worth it.. most of our day was just really eating and chilling.. soaking in the experience of actually being in Santorini which was one of our dream destinations..

Stay tuned for the next vlog or why not watch my previous vlogs while you wait :)

EUROPE VLOG #4: Santorini, Greece

Met up with some of my favorite humans in Santorini last week! Greece, you have my heart! My new favorite place in the world.

What to do in Santorini 2020 - [ Santorini Greece ] - What to do in Santorini

What to do in Santorini 2020 - [ Santorini Greece ] - what to do in Santorini ?
Santorini scuba diving is great if you are looking for adventure. What else to do if you travel to Santorini? You can hike the Fira Trail on donkeys, you can admire the beautiful Santorini sunset from Oia Village in 2020 or drive atv or quad.

Here are some other things to do in Santorini Greece in 2020:

1. Go cliff jumping at Amoudi Bay.
It was honestly one of the best things I did during my stay in Santorini. You can swim straight off the rocks, or if you are game, climb up the stairs of the massive boulder in the water and do your best dive in!

2. Hike the Fira Trail

If you want a chance to up your Instagram game with some of the BEST photo opportunities Santorini has to offer, this hike is a must. I recommend doing the hike at sunset, as it won’t be as hot at this time of day, AND you’ll get the most beautiful photos at this time of day!

3. Stay in a Cave house
We stayed in a lovely hostel called Caveland in Karterados for five nights during our stay in Santorini. The hostel itself felt wonderfully Grecian- think traditional, white-washed cave-style buildings featuring bright blue doors framed by fuchsia flowers. Complete with a pool, super friendly and helpful staff, and even morning yoga classes, it was incredible as far as hostels go (not to mention a total bargain)! On the downside, the location was quite isolated and was a fifteen-minute walk to get into the main town of Fira. If you are looking to be in the center of all the action, your best bet is to actually stay in Fira, although you may pay a little more to do so.

4 Hire a quad bike and drive around the island
What better way to explore this beautiful island then cruising down the roads with the wind in your hair!? Hiring a quad bike (or ATV) for the day is surprisingly cheap and only requires a standard license. It’s a great way to discover areas that aren’t accessible by bus (and to feel super cool while you’re at it).
Alternatively, if you don’t have a driver license, you could cruise around the island on an electric bike tour instead.
If you want more of an adrenaline dose, Santorini also offers an endless array of activities including helicopter tours, parasailing, and scuba diving.

5. Go on a Sunset Wine Tour
Santorini is home to many fantastic wineries, so make sure you don’t leave the island without sampling the island’s finest grapes! If you want the full experience, take a sunset wine tour, where you will be taken to 3 traditional wineries to taste over 12 wines. On the final stop, you’ll get to sip your wine whilst watching Santorini’s famous sunset- there isn’t really much that can beat wine with a view!

6. Eat Frozen Yogurt for dinner - best thing if you don`t know What to do in Santorini 2020
Alright, I’ll let you off if least make it your second course after 2€ gyros. But seriously, the frozen yogurt I had in Santorini still lingers in my food dreams. If you are in Thira, you must check out Chillbox. They’ve even got Bueno sauce topping to put on your frozen yogurt- it’s almost too good to be true. Once your mouth is in heaven, you can sit back and think about how cool it is that you are eating frozen Greek yogurt in Greece. Yep, that’s next level cool.

7. Jump off a boat into hot springs
Picture this. You’re on a boat. You dive off into the cool Mediterranean ocean. You swim about twenty meters and suddenly, the water changes color and temperature and you’ve just swum into hot springs. This is just another one of those unique things you HAVE to do during your stay in Santorini (just don’t wear your best swimsuit in the hot springs, I’m still mourning over my ruined bikini).
It’s not every day you have the option of dining with arguably one of the best views in the world. Even if you’re on a budget, choose at least one night to splurge a little at one of the many restaurants overlooking the ocean. Time your reservation for sunset and prepare to have your mind (and hopefully tastebuds) blown. The last night we were in Santorini we ate out at Volcano Blue, a reasonably-priced restaurant along the water at Fira with a priceless view.

9. Sunbake (or fry) on the black sand beaches this is What to do in Santorini 2020
For a unique, and to be honest, slightly painful experience, head to the black sand beaches of Kamari and Perissa. Within seconds of stepping on to that hot sand in summer, your feet will fry and you’ll turn three shades darker. But hey, that’s all part of the fun- right?

10. Get the perfect spot to watch the best sunset in the world
So I know it’s an obvious one, but there is a very good reason why this is recommended on every Santorini guide imaginable. I’m not exaggerating when I say that sunset at Santorini. Now you know What to do in Santorini 2019
