Nagasaki - Japan Cultural Expo - Vatican & Japan - 100 Year Project

Nagasaki, City of Hills, is considered one of the most beautiful cities of Japan.
A cultural and historical hub, surrounded by magnificent nature. Nagasaki offers unique access to Japanese culture.

Since ancient times, as a key port of trade with Japan, Nagasaki has been interacting with foreign countries of different cultures separated by a large ocean. For this reason, it has a diverse culture and history with a distinctive character that is sometimes referred to as “cultural mixing”.

Discover the Hidden Christian Sites in the Nagasaki Region that bear testimony to a cultural tradition nurtured by hidden Christians who secretly transmitted their faith during the period of prohibition from the 17th to the 19th century. The sites are recognized by Unesco as World Heritage.

Try the delicious food, a Chinese mix such as the “Champon” or the more elaborate ”Shippoku”, one of the oldest Japanese fusion cuisines, a mixture of traditional Japanese, Chinese and Western dishes. Several recipes developed during the Edo period as a result of exchanges which took place when Nagasaki was one of the only gateways to Japan.

Experience events influenced by Chinese culture, like the Lantern Festival, that never ceases to amaze hundreds of thousands every year, with the lighting up of more than 15,000 lanterns.

Marvel at the night view of the city from Mount Inasa, recognized as one of the most spectacular night views in the world.

The unique culture of Nagasaki cannot be experienced anywhere else.

And much more…

This video was made in collaboration with the Prefecture of Nagasaki and Kadokawa Culture Promotion Foundation for the Japan Cultural Expo initiative.

Nagasaki Highlight - Glover Garden Tour (4K)

The beautiful Glover Garden was the highlight of our Asia cruise stop in Nagasaki, Japan. Beautiful flowers, including cherry blossoms, tulips and Wisteria Floribunda, were abundant on the grounds of the former home of Thomas Glover. Glover Garden park is perched on a hill with a great view of the Nagasaki skyline and the cruise terminal where we walked from. We definitely recommend visiting this attraction when you are in Nagasaki! As a bonus, we some some clips of us getting back to the cruise terminal, and passing by other attractions such as Oura Cathedral & Inori-No-Oka Picture Book Museum.

See the pictures we took here:

This was from our 14 day Asia cruise in 2018 aboard the Majestic Princess cruise ship.
