10 Top Tourist Attractions in Bangkok - Travel Video
Bangkok, with a population of over 9 million inhabitants, is one of the biggest cities in the world. Its heavy traffic congestion, intense heat and naughty nightlife do not immediately give visitors a warm welcome. But first impressions can be misleading. It is one of Asia’s most cosmopolitan cities with magnificent temples and palaces, extensive canals, a vibrant nightlife and great shopping, that has something for every traveler.
Due to the city’s congested traffic, the best transport options around Bangkok are the Skytrain, the metro and tuk-tuks. A memorable way to experience Bangkok is by a boat ride on the canals. Here’s a look at the top tourist attractions in Bangkok:

Thailand is one of my favourite countries...with good reason. There are so many amazing things to do in Thailand. The country is great for any traveler who loves beautiful landscapes, delicious food, lots of activities, wonderful people, interesting culture...and the list goes on. Myself and 3 of my YouTube friends, travelled to Thailand to take part in the #Thaifitchallenge with GoPro and Adidas. Each day was spent sweating and being active as we participated in the most amazing active adventures you can have in the north and south of the country.

Top 8 Things to do in Bangkok, THAILAND
We absolutely love Bangkok, Thailand. From mouth watering food to eye opening experiences. We've been to Bangkok a few times (before we started vlogging), so in this video we've rounded up our top 8 things to do in Bangkok to help out first time visitors to Thailand.
First up, the Damnoen Saduak Floating Market. This was our second time visiting the floating market which is located just a little bit outside of Bangkok but it's a must visit when you're in Bangkok as it's well worth the eye opening experience especially if you've never been to a floating market before.
Damnoen Saduak is the most famous floating market in Thailand. It's common practice and even expected for tourists to bargain at Damnoen Saduak Floating Market (just not for food and drinks). We booked this attraction and the Maeklong Railway Market tour through Klook if you're looking for a tour operator to bring you to these two places.
Address: Damnoen Saduak, Damnoen Saduak District, Ratchaburi 70130, Thailand
Hours: Monday - Sunday 7AM–5PM
The Maeklong Railway Market is a local market despite the number of tourists that go to witness the train that runs right through the market daily. The Maeklong Railwar Market is a short drive from the Damnoen Saduak Floating Market and it's definitely a must-do experience when you're visiting Thailand. Watch the shop owners promptly pack and unpack their stalls and get a front row view of the train that runs super up close and personal. It's perfectly safe as long as you listen to the locals about keeping behind the safety lines before the train approaches.
Maeklong Railway Market
Address: ตลาดแม่กลอง แม่กลอง Mueang Samut Songkhram District, Samut Songkhram 75000, Thailand
Hours: Monday - Sunday 8AM–7PM
Thailand is the birthplace of Muay Thai kick boxing and Bangkok has countless Muay Thai gyms so for the adventurous fitness junkies you can try your hand (and legs!) at learning some moves with a muay thai kickboxing training session(s). We found a gym run by former competing kick boxers called Jitti Gym. We would recommended that you have a bit of boxing gym familiarity/experience and a somewhat decent fitness level if you want to try this activity. You can turn up and pay on entry for Jitti Gym without any bookings necessary.
Jitti Gym (Muay Thai Gym)
Address: 5 Soi Vibhavadi Rangsit 16, แขวง รัชดาภิเษก Din Daeng, Bangkok 10400, Thailand
Hours: Monday - Sunday 9AM–12PM, 2–9PM
Next up we head to Lumpini Park to track down the infamous water monitor lizards that inhabit the area. Lumpini Park is located right in the middle of central Bangkok so it's a great escape from all the noise and heat while you're out and about.
Address: ถนนพระรามที่ ๔ Lumphini, Pathum Wan District, Bangkok 10330, Thailand
Hours: Monday - Sunday 4:30AM–9PM
Perhaps the most popular attraction in Bangkok or even Thailand has to be the The Grand Palace. See the stunning royal architecture and the Jade Buddha statue. Do make sure you are dressed appropriately though as they are very strict on covering shoulders and knees.
The Grand Palace
Address: Na Phra Lan Rd, Phra Borom Maha Ratchawang, Phra Nakhon, Bangkok 10200, Thailand
Hours: Monday - Sunday 8:30AM–3:30PM
Right around the corner from The Grand Palace is Wat Phra Chetuphon (Wat Pho) a beautiful temple which houses a gigantic gold reclining Buddha statue.
Wat Phra Chetuphon (Wat Pho)
Address: 2 Sanam Chai Rd, Phra Borom Maha Ratchawang, Phra Nakhon, Bangkok 10200, Thailand
Hours: Monday - Sunday 8AM–6:30PM
A must-do when in Bangkok, Thailand is to get a traditional Thai massage. It's both rather painful and relaxing at the same time but something we highly recommend if you're visitin Thailand. Check Google for a street massage store near you with reputable recommendations to avoid anything extra.
Finally we don't often put eating local street food in our top things to do list since it's a given (we usually dedicate a whole episode to it for most places we visit) but Thai cuisine is unmissable in our opinion. If you miss the street food even though you've been to Thailand then you haven't experienced the real Thailand. We hit up legendary food stall Som Tam Jay So.
Som Tam Jay So
Address: Phiphat 2, Silom, Bang Rak, Bangkok 10500, Thailand
Hours: 11am - 10pm

10 Top Tourist Attractions in Thailand.
Thailand is the most popular tourist destination in Southeast Asia, and for a reason. You can find almost anything here: crystal blue beaches, thick jungle, great food, cheap beach front bungalows and some of the best luxury hotels in the world. There is something for every interest and every budget.
As the only Southeast Asian country never to be colonized, it is also studded with incredible cultural and historical sites, including ruins that stretch back hundreds of years. And despite the heavy flow of tourism, Thailand retains its quintessential identity with its own unique culture and history and a carefree people famed for their smiles.
The only trouble with planning a trip to Thailand is narrowing things down to a few sights. It helps to start with the most popular tourist attractions in Thailand, which include:
10. Similan Islands
9. Full Moon Party at Haad Rin
8. Thai-Burma Railway (Death Railway)
7. Ayutthaya Historical Park
6. Mu Ko Chang National Park
5. Northern Hill Tribes
3. Grand Palace
2. Phang Nga Bay

Things NOT To Do in Thailand
Thailand is a beautiful country, often called the “land of smiles”, however, that does not mean that you shouldn’t be versed in some of the local customs before visiting. Today we bring you 12 things NOT to do in Thailand so if you're planning a trip there, first you'll want to heed these warnings!
1. Don’t Hug Monks
You'll find the monks are super friendly, but hands off, please. Monks are not allowed to touch women. Even on buses monks are not allowed to sit directly next to a woman. It is also forbidden to stand over or be positioned higher than a monk.
2. Never Use Your Feet
Feet are considered the lowest, dirtiest part of the body in many Asian cultures and the head is the highest. So do not hold doors open with your feet, point your feet towards the Buddha images or angle your feet towards people. Be especially mindful of your feet position when you're sitting or eating on the floor.
3. Don’t Disrespect the Royal Family
You will see many pictures commemorating them throughout the country and it is disrespectful to say anything negative about them. Don't stomp on a Thai coin as it rolls away as you're not only disrespecting the Crown, but also breaking rule 2.
4. Don’t Take Your Clothes Off
Walking around town in beach attire is considered impolite. Be extra-conscious of your attire when visiting temples. Dress preferably in white and women should wear long skirts or pants and have their shoulders covered.
5. Avoid Pointing with Your Fingers
When hailing for a tuk-tuk or beckoning a waiter, do not point
your fingers up. Never clap, snap your fingers, or whistle to get someone’s attention, as Thais regard it akin to calling a dog.
6. Don't Touch a Thai’s Head
Thais see the head as the highest part of the body so refrain from ruffling people's hair. If you happen to by accident, apologize immediately. Thai people will sometimes pat a child on the head, but as a Westerner it’s best not to. Now if you stomp on a coin you'll be breaking 3 rules!
7. Can’t Take Buddha Pictures Out of Thailand
It is technically illegal to take or send any pictures of Buddha out of the country! Nonetheless, many shop owners will still try to sell you pictures, and many tourists snap selfies in front of sacred Buddha statues. Just be discreet and respectful about it.
8. Don’t Lose Your Temper
Thais have a philosophy of keeping their cool;jai yen (cool heart). Thais see raising one’s voice as bad form. Don’t get frustrated, “mai pen rai” as the locals say.
9. Don’t Eat with a Fork
There are no specific dining times so visitors can enjoy cheap yet delicious food all day and night but watch your utensils. You may be given a fork and spoon, but it is only the spoon that touches one’s mouth. Also, chopsticks are only to be used when eating Chinese dishes.
10. Never Whistle at Night
Thais will become very uneasy if they hear a whistle after dark as they believe that whistling at night is bad luck because you’re calling the evil spirits.
11. Don’t Let a Tuk-Tuk Driver Take You To a Gem Shop
This is one of the biggest scams in the tourist areas of Thailand. Drivers will try to persuade you to visit a special gem shop, often a dodgy kick-back shop where tourists are harassed. In extreme cases, they are sometimes drugged and are cheated out of money in exchange for fake jewelry.
12. Don’t Shake Hands
Thais do not like to have personal contact when greeting strangers. Rather, they place both their open palms together at chest height and bow slightly. Do not bow to children or a person of lower status however, as you would be embarrassing them. If you are greeting a person of high importance, bow slightly deeper.
Now that you know how to properly respect the Thai culture, you can enjoy some of the most welcoming and hospitable people in the world.
