2021 Goroka Tour - Papua New Guinea [4K]
Join us Daniel and Yuka, as we explore Papua New Guinea and travel to the Eastern Highlands Province to attend the 2021 Goroka Show! Unfortunately it was cancelled at the last minute which was very disappointing, but we still managed to have an incredible time exploring the beautiful surrounding area of the Eastern Highlands, experiencing the Asaro Mudmen and flying our DJI FPV Drone at Daulo Pass!
Goroka in Papua New Guinea's Eastern Highlands Province is known as the gateway to the Highlands and is an agricultural hub for all the surrounding villages!

World's largest collection of PNG Bilums in Goroka Town.
A Bilum is a traditional woven bag from Papua New Guinea, it can be made from wool,acrylic or traditional bush materials.
There are thousands of different designs with each region having its own unique style of BIlum, they are woven traditionally by mothers.
It carries a lot of cultural significance in Papua New Guinea and is often used in traditional ceremonies like bride prices or peace ceremonies.

Goroka Show 2022
Over 70 tribes attended the annual Goroka Show in Eastern Highlands, Papua New Guinea.
Now in its 65th year it was cancelled the last 2 years because of Covid.
Goroka Sing-Sing Papua New Guinea
The Sing-Sing experience is an explosion of sound and sights with many tribal performances going on all at the same time in a large field. Photographers are free to roam around and capture the action up close. Fill flash is important for stills because of the sun and time of day, but the best to capture the experience is video. Filmed in 2022.

Alotau Papua New Guinea - Our Day With See Alotau With Ben
Alotau, Papua New Guinea was our first port of call on our recent PNG Encounter trip with P&O from Brisbane.
We booked our tour independently with See Alotau with Ben, a well respected and much promoted local tour operator (link below and tour details on our website).
We booked a half day morning tour, because we are always nervous booking local tours in places we are not familiar with if they are ending too close to ship departure time. As it turns out we had nothing to worry about. Despite a dull and rainy day we had a fantastic tour that was definitely worth the money.

Goroka, Papua Nowa Gwinea, ????????
Przybywam do PNG! Goroka jest to miejsce, gdzie co roku odbywa się znany festiwal, na który schodzą się plemiona w liczbie 50-100 (plemion). Barwne korowody spacerują ulicami miasta, a wydarzenie odbywa się na lokalnym boisku krykieta. Trwa zazwyczaj w okolicach Swieta Niepodległości (16.09).
Ląduję w Goroka; najpierw spotykam ks biskupa Walentego Gryka z Polski (normalna koszulka, niczym się nie wyróżniający człowiek…) - a potem to już wszystko idzie jak w kołowrotku: ks. Krzysztof, ks. Szczepan…ich opowieści z pracy na misji i życiu w PNG mogłyby zapełnić niejedną książkę. Pracuje tu też ks. Bogdan Cofalik, będący na urlopie w Polsce-brat Andrzeja Cofalika (brązowy medal na IO Atlanta’96)-nieeeeesamowota historia życia. Ależ tu się dzieje!
Zresztą misjonarze mają niesamowite historie o tym kraju.
Jak chociażby wielebny Chalmers, który działał w Papui w latach 60-tych i 70-tych XIX wieku, a niestety przez tzw. chwilę nieuwagi dał się pojmać kanibalom (żył wśród nich 25 lat), tak któregoś razu pisał: „Pewnego razu siedząc nad mapą, zauważyłem, że z dużego pakunku leżącego na dachu zaczyna kapać. Okazało się, że wnuk gospodarza, gdzie mieszkam, suszy na dachu zwłoki swej babci. W wielu okolicach kraju rodzina nie grzebała zmarłego, ale przechowywała w pobliżu chaty. Szczątki być może wędzono i pozostawiano w domu lub dawano dzieciom do zabawy. W ten sposób krewni mogli dłużej pozostawać w kontakcie z duchem zmarłego”.
