Moorea, the most fun island in French Polynesia! / What to see and do in a week? / Trip Summary
If you are visiting French Polynesia, you cannot miss Moorea, very close to Tahiti. It has a lot of activities combined with a great balance between remoteness and tourism. It's a perfect spot for nature lovers, as it offers great hiking, snorkelling and diving with colourful marine life. For those who want to learn about the Polynesian vibe, they can visit the Moorea Tiki Village.
We recommend to go outside of the resort life and discover it your own way (you should still go to Sofitel and Hilton Moorea for snorkelling...:) We will share how we spent a week in Moorea and the best things to do! We also did our PADI diving licence here that we strongly recommend! Thanks for watching!

Moorea is a beautiful island in French Polynesia and only a 30 minute ferry ride from the island of Tahiti. French Polynesia is known as a luxury destination, but with the ferry ride costing as little as $23 round trip Moorea is a great way to visit on a budget. All activities we share are super fun and cheap (with the exception of one splurge, but we think it's worth it!). Moorea is overflowing with natural beauty from the green mountains to the clear turquoise water you'll fall in love at first sight.

Welcome to Moorea! The beautiful island just off the coast of Tahiti is, truly, our favorite place in the entire world at this point. Just 20 minutes by ferry from Tahiti lies the spectacular island paradise, home to several overwater hotels and mom and pop boutiques. So, we're here to share the top three things to keep in mind when planning your vacation! We're going to share where to stay, what to do and activities that are not to be missed:

While Moorea is a small island, there's an incredible amount to do. From ATV tours around the island, hiking inland, scuba diving and dining out at wonderful restaurants, you cannot go wrong with the beauty of the island.
Our first tip is to visit Les Tipaniers Beach. We've stayed at the little hotel before, on our first trip to Moorea, but it's a must-do for anyone looking to kite board, or simply visit one of the most picturesque beaches on the island.
2, stay in an overwater hut! At often half the price of Bora Bora, you can stay in an overwater bungalow and wake up to the bluest water you'll ever see. Check out the Hilton or Sofitel for the best options.
Lastly, a boat tour is a must. The island is completely circled by a large lagoon, allowing the calm waters to softly lap agains the shore. Exploring by boat is an excellent option if you want to see the island from a whole new perspective.
Overall, Moorea has so much to explore and we highly recommend a stay on our favorite place on earth.

The capital of Tahiti is known as Papeete, and you’ll certainly be spending some time there while you’re on the island. Taking a walk through the capital can provide visitors with some unique sights, and there’s also the Papeete Market that offers tourists and locals alike plentiful amounts of unique and local food and wares. The Papeete Market is one of the best places to go looking for Tahitian pearls to take home as a souvenir, and also to grab some food!
If you want to experience Tahiti’s coasts, the easiest way to do so is by driving along the road that encircles the entire island along them. This road is only 70 miles long, but it may take you several hours to traverse it due to the predominantly low speeds of drivers in the area. MOOREA ISLAND TOUR - Self-Drive!
What to do on the island of Moorea? We rented a manual car and drove around the island of Moorea for a self-guided tour! We drove up to the highest overlook point on the mountain and got some beautiful footage of the island. After, we drove back down and stopped at a few public beaches before continuing on to the juice factory- one of my favorite stops of the day. Here, you are able to taste many of the local liquors they make directly on the islands in French Polynesia.
