THE WAIT IS OVER AND I'M BEYOND EXCITED TO TELL YOU ABOUT THE LAST 2 WEEKS OF MY LIFE IN SYRIA - COUNTRY #183!
It was honestly the most inspiring and life-changing trip I've taken so far. I am so overwhelmed by the amazing people who welcomed me here -- you won't believe the stories that I'm about to share with you.
Ever since the war began in Syria in 2011, the media has ripped this country into pieces (not surprisingly) -- so I am going to do my best to show you the positive sides of Syrian people, culture, food, and general life -- because trust me, there are A LOT of positives that are yet to be exposed to the outside world.
Can you guys sense how excited I am as I type this right now? It's unbelievable what I am feeling right now.
This first video is somewhat of an overview of everything I did in Syria. You can consider it as a 'teaser' for what's to come. I will be uploading daily videos as usual, but please note they will be delayed 14 days as I decided not to post live for safety reasons and so I could fully enjoy the trip without feeling pressure to upload.

I've been dying to come to this tiny Middle Eastern country of Lebanon for about 5 years now, and words cannot describe how happy I have been here over the last 4 days.
My buddy Georgio (who I met thru Snapchat like 3 years ago), has been kind enough to host me at his family's house and give me the best local experience possible in Lebanon.
Unfortunately, Lebanon gets a very bad rep on the news as a dangerous place-- but that could not be farther from the truth. My goal with this video is to shatter all of those negative stereotypes and let you know that Lebanon is a complete dream come true.

I'm back in Ethiopia for the 3rd time because it's one of my favorite countries in Africa! I am now exploring a city in the North called Gondar, and little did I know that I'd come across thousands of fellow Jews.
As you might know by now, I enjoy connecting with Jewish communities around the world, like I've done in Afghanistan, Yemen, Turkmenistan, Georgia, Philippines among many others -- but this experience has been the most eye-opening because of how alive the Jewish culture is. Some 4,000 Ethiopian Jews are here, studying torah, keeping Shabbat and learning Hebrew.
If this is not a fascinating story, then I am not sure what is! Join me as I take you inside the world of the forgotten Jewish tribe of Ethiopia.

Winter van life in Turkey continues to keep us on our toes. In between the rainstorms and gale force winds, there's a little paradise hiding in plain sight. We've continued our drive north along the west coast of Turkey and reached the Bodrum peninsula. Bodrum is notorious for its summer crowds and hoards of visitors, so we were a little unsure what to expect. Empty beaches, hidden coves and endless devastation were just some of the things that awaited us.

Nobody Visits This Country Anymore ( Find Out Why ) ????????
???????? Venezuela, the name conjures images of a country synonymous with economic collapse and violence. But is that reputation deserved or is there another side to the country that the media don't show? Well, despite being nervous for my safety and that of my camera, I flew into Caracas on my own to investigate. Oh, and whilst there of course I had to visit the infamous Petare barrio, known as Venezuela's most dangerous hood. Would I survive? Join me and find out. Vamos a Caracas chamos!

Thank you to everyone who has helped make this year one to remember. It's the year our plans fell through, it's the year we experienced some of the worse burnout and exhaustion we've ever felt. But it's the year we renovated Sophia to become the home of our dreams, the year we felt the freedom of the road (truly) for the first time since 2019. We're so excited to see what 2022 brings. We're Chesca and Ben and River (???? ) and we usually live full-time in our self converted sprinter van, Sophia. After a year of travelling Europe, from Spain and Portugal to the island of Sicily, the pandemic brought us back home to the UK. Along with a secret project! We spent the winter re-building Sophia into a more sturdy overlanding rig, ready to take us across Africa - our next challenge. However, it's a trip we've now had to postpone. But when the wind changes - adjust your sails! We're now off on an Eastern voyage across to Greece, Turkey & beyond. I hope you enjoy this new adventure as we overland our way East.

No Food, No Water, No Gas in Remote Northern Canada ???????? VAN LIFE on the Pan American Highway
Van life in the far north of Canada goes something like this...The last time we were in a major town was 3 weeks ago. With only tiny grocery stores to keep us supplied with food and water, it's not long before we run out of both. But being this far north has it's advantages. We visit one final stop on our Alaskan adventures, stumble upon mama bears with their cubs, see glaciers pouring out onto the highway and realise that we have a dodgy handbrake when we're on the side of a narrow mountain road.

I've taken taxi rides in over 170 countries, and I have never EVER experienced more friendly drivers than here in Syria! Seriously guys - I can't make this stuff up!
Riding in a taxi in Syria is like being invited into someone's home for an amazing experience. They offer you tea, candy and anything else they have in the car. And most importantly, they smile at you and make you feel safe and comfortable!
Also in this video, I didn't mention how CHEAP they are. A 30 minute ride across the city is around $2USD. Not a bad deal if you ask me!
