If you see those cities saturated with history and local charisma from distance, it can be humbling. However, it can sometimes be best to appreciate those cities by stepping back and viewing them from a vantage viewpoint. This video about the 10 most beautiful cities in the UK presents another opportunity to analyze the UK cities. However, it’s tough to can conduct a generally acceptable ranking of the cities United Kingdom cities.
10. Cardiff, Wales
Cardiff represents more than just the seat of government of Wales. This capital city is an expression of the potential of a big city to retain its natural beauty. Hence, it has to be mentioned as early as now in this account. The attraction of this town started during the Industrial Revolution when it was a humble worldwide port of coal.
Among the attractions of this town are delightful boutiques of the Victorian era, the grand Cardiff Castle in the city center, and Cardiff Bay. The city lacks nothing in terms of arts, live music, shows, and modernist architecture. It’s good to see how these have developed from what used to be a mere dockyard less than ten centuries ago. The Bay and Castle are another way to tell the story of the United Kingdom, especially the Welsh strips of the rich account spanning millenniums.
9. St Davids, Wales
Since we are discussing St Davids, the smallest city in the UK, we are going to make our comments so brief even though there’s a lot to talk about in this city. St Davids is located amid the rolling hills of West Wales. The city in size is smaller than many towns in the UK that haven’t been granted city status.
However, it’s a midget of charm and awesomeness defined by its stone walls and buildings, exotic cathedral, lively markets, and lush greenery. The afternoon tea in the green gardens of the pubs is a norm in St Davids with its mesmeric landscape you can view from atop the hills.
8. Edinburgh, Scotland
Cross over to Scotland in search of the most beautiful cities in the United Kingdom if you’d ever find many cities before its beloved capital city, Edinburgh. This is a breathtaking array of Gothic buildings wearing a modernist twist. Arts, beauty, and sceneries are in no short supply in this gorgeous city.
The landscape of Edinburgh is enriched with dainty stores and bustling markets. And as you wander through winding streets, you can marvel and gaze at the jaw-dropping landmarks, such as the Palace of Holyroodhouse and Edinburgh Castle. Residents of this picturesque city always look forward to welcoming tourists during the annual Edinburgh Fringe Festival, the largest arts festival in the world held in summer.
9. Belfast, Northern Ireland
From Wales to Scotland, and now out of Scotland we’ll go to the fourth country in the Kingdom, Northern Ireland. Belfast, the capital city of Ireland, deserves a slot here.

10 Worst Cities to Live in England - My Subscriber's List

What are the worst cities in England? From my personal findings, I have shown you a video about the cities I considered the worst in England. Even then, I made it clear in that video that the content isn’t just what I think, but what visitors to and residents in almost all cities in England feel about their destinations and homes respectively. As usual, however, you know I value the opinions of my subscribers like gold and precious stones. Otherwise, why would I be calling for your comments, either in support or in contradiction to my content? From those comments you’ve volunteered, I have been able to come up with this list of 10 worst cities in England—my subscribers’ list, though, not mine.
10. Nottingham
For the sake of those who haven’t seen what I said about Nottingham, a city and unitary authority area in Nottinghamshire, I need to reiterate that this is one of the worst cities in England. This city in the East Midlands is located some 206 kilometers north of London with links to the legend of Robin Hood and industries such as lace-making, bicycles, and tobacco.
While some tourists consider it a location to visit, their experience is far from palatable. In fact, it is the perception of those tourists that gave it that bad ranking. In Nottinghamshire, Nottingham is the most dangerous major city and is among the 236 towns, villages, and cities in the county, it’s in the top 20 most dangerous with a recent overall crime rate of 113 crimes per 1,000 people. Within a period of 7 years, Nottingham has made the list of the UK's poorest cities 5 times. This is evident when you’re in the city and see people outside a food bank on the Meadows estate struggling just to get by.
9. Coventry
Now in the East Midlands, we find the city of Coventry on the River Sherbourne. This city too is on my subscribers’ list of the worst cities in England and for good reasons. The large settlement which for centuries before the Middle Ages wasn’t given its city status is the largest in the county. But also, it’s the 22nd most dangerous out of the county’s 44 towns, villages, and cities with a recent overall crime rate of 102 crimes per 1,000 people.
A popular geography website has named Coventry as the most dangerous city in the UK. The same website also ranked it among the top 10 most dangerous cities in Europe. World Atlas says Coventry is the 7th most dangerous city in Europe, even more dangerous than Sarajevo, in Bosnia; Glasgow, in Scotland; and Rotterdam, in the Netherlands at some point.
8. Stoke-on-Trent
When I featured Stoke-on-Trent on my list of the 5 most hated cities in England, I honestly was expecting a backlash. But I’m surprised that my subscribers knew enough of this city and unitary authority area in Staffordshire to agree with the public perception of the city 93 square kilometers in size. Since all of you have agreed that this largest settlement in Staffordshire has lost most of its past glory, its inclusion here is just an acknowledgment of my subscribers’ opinion.

▶️ We started our channel to inspire and share our world travel lifestyle, adventures, and optimistic outlook on life with others. After completing a two-year journey in our Airstream to see all 50 states and 51 National Parks, we left to travel abroad. We have downsized our possessions and sold our home so that we can wander about with only the things in our backpacks.

We love living on the road, traveling each week to a new location. We plan to do retirement travel extensively to every part of the world. Ours is not a slow travel lifestyle but rather a vagabondish one. The goal is not to check a country off a list, but to experience it by meeting new people, seeing how others live, and making new friends. We believe in laughing, loving, and living our lives to the fullest.

We are working hard to build a beautiful website where you can get retirement travel information about the places we have been. In addition, we post blog articles to help you travel better. Our channel is a way of augmenting that effort, so sometimes we post videos about how to travel or a vlog showing our lives on the road as we do an activity or an adventure. We also post Shorts, so check those out, too. We hope to entertain you, but most importantly, we want to inspire you and give you the confidence to plan your own adventure around the world.
