Today I'm reviewing the 13 hour flight from London Heathrow to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on Malaysia Airlines fabulous Airbus A350 in Economy Class.
I paid £500 for a one-way flexible ticket, but a basic fare can be had for as low as £550 return in economy. For that you a comfy seat, delicious food and an overall pleasant experience.

TRIP REPORT | First Time on Malaysia A350! | Kuala Lumpur to London | Malaysia Airlines A350
Malaysia Airlines Trip Report flying from Kuala Lumpur to London Heathrow onboard one of the Malaysia Airlines Airbus A350 on a beautiful winter day.
An extremely comfortable 13h+ flight from Kuala Lumpur to London onboard the Malaysia Airlines A350. The flight was, surprisingly, nearly empty; for sure not more than 50 passengers. This allowed us to have 3 seats, which increased the comfort exponentially.
After a nice exploration of Kuala Lumpur International Airport, as well as some planespotting, we boarded the Airbus A350 that would take us to London. After enjoying the most original safety msg I've ever seen, we took off from Kuala Lumpur towards the northwest. We initially climbed through lots of clouds and turbulence. These ones disappeared just in time to see a last glimpse of Indonesia, before entering the Gulf of Bengal.
We crossed the Gulf and finally reached India, where we entered over Madras. We made a right turn there and crossed the country, flying towards the Indian Ocean. We left India over Mumbai, after some amazing views of the city. We then crossed the Indian Ocean towards Pakistan.
We entered Pakistan west of Karachi and enjoyed some of the best views I've ever had of Hingol National Park and the desert area. We continued towards Iran and crossed it from south to north. The views were stunning, from the very south until reaching Tehran. From there we flew over Turkiye, Romania, Hungary, Austria, Germany, Belgium, and, finally, the United Kingdom and London, where we landed on time.
About the catering service... well, it was good, definitely not bad at all. But it was the most strange breakfast I ever had: fruit, lasagna, and red wine. What a combination to start the day! I guess there was some mistake on the website and they got a pre-ordered meal for me (which was the lasagna). Just after getting it, another cabin crew came offering the wine. I said... well, why not?
The second meal came around 4 hours before landing in London. In this case, they offered a more conventional one. 2 options: chicken or beef. I chose the second one. It was pretty ok. I would say Malaysia Airlines is positioned slightly behind Singapore Airlines in terms of Catering in economy class, and for sure behind the Gulf ones.

- - [Tom] This is Malaysia Airlines Premium Economy, it's three, three, three configuration on this A350. Three rows of nine. Lot of legroom here in the opening on the first aisle rather. That's row 12, 13 and 14. This is Premium Economy from the back. Or the rear of this small cabin. This is Malaysia Airlines Economy Class. Two cabins in economy. Again, three, three, three like Premium Economy. This is the rear cabin of Economy. I guess the main Economy cabin. A configuration of three, three, three. You can see actually the front row, is obviously a good place to be. But also this little window seat here, the people in the know, I think that will be the one to chose. There's one on the other side as well. And I'll help ya, I'll tell you it's row 27, because the front row's 26, that's row 27 and it's seat A, so I reckon row 27A or not B, not C. But go back over there, and row 27 again, K, L, M, that would be the one to go for. Or of course the front row 26 there.

This is my first time flying Malaysia Airlines.
It was an airline that I had been interested in for a long time, but I was finally able to board it.
When I went on a trip to Malaysia, the Malaysian people were very kind and full of hospitality, so my expectations for Malaysia Airlines naturally increased.
The expectations were not wrong, and it was a very satisfying flight with excellent service.
I regret not having ridden it until now.

A 5-STAR AIRLINE? ⭐️ Malaysia A330 Business Class Review | LONG HAUL FLIGHT on Malaysia Airlines ✈️
Malaysia Airlines used to be a 5-star airline. Then came the financial crisis, then another one, then it became a disaster airline, with 2 horrible incidents within 4 months: Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 to Beijing disappeared and later supposedly crashed into the Indian Ocean, and then Malaysia Airlines flight MH17 was downed my militias over Ukraine. It was out of the airlines control, and yet the airline has been suffering immensely from these terrible incidents
How is flying Malaysia Airlines today, in 2023?
We're visiting the airline's flagship lounge for business class in Kuala Lumpur, the Golden Lounge. (the Platinum Lounge is open again now too - but not available for business class but rather for their very, very few business-suite passengers and oneworld emerald customers).
Unfortunately they have a pretty uncomfortable seat in business class that is still used by a lot of airlines. Let's check out the whole flight experience!

We entered Pakistan west of Karachi and enjoyed some of the best views I've ever had of Hingol National Park and the desert area. We continued towards Iran and crossed it from south to north. The views were stunning, from the very south until reaching Tehran. From there we flew over Turkiye, Romania, Hungary, Austria, Germany, Belgium, and, finally, the United Kingdom and London, where we landed on time.
About the catering service... well, it was good, definitely not bad at all. But it was the most strange breakfast I ever had: fruit, lasagna, and red wine. What a combination to start the day! I guess there was some mistake on the website and they got a pre-ordered meal for me (which was the lasagna). Just after getting it, another cabin crew came offering the wine. I said... well, why not?
The second meal came around 4 hours before landing in London. In this case, they offered a more conventional one. 2 options: chicken or beef. I chose the second one. It was pretty ok. I would say Malaysia Airlines is positioned slightly behind Singapore Airlines in terms of Catering in economy class, and for sure behind the Gulf ones.
