Machu Picchu: more than a journey through the Inca Civilization (legendas em português)

There are some places on Earth that are magical, mesmerizing and unforgettable. One of those places is Machu Picchu.
I arrived in Machu Picchu early in the morning and there were already lines at the entrance.
I followed my guide through the streets and alleys of the citadel, which was still empty at that time.
Only 2500 people are permitted to visit Machu Picchu every day, and you have to buy your ticket in advance.
When the sun came out the citadel became even more beautiful, and it was hard to believe that I was there.
Machu Picchu was built around 1450 and abandoned a century later. Only in 1911 it was founded by Hiram Bingham covered with vegetation.
The enigmatic complex of palaces, plazas, temples and homes is perched atop of the Andes Mountains, nearly 2500 m above sea level.
What many people don't realize is that visiting Machu Picchu requires a lot of physical effort and attention. You can trip and fall at any time. But walking down on the streets of Machu Picchu is like a dreaming coming true...
The citadel is divided into an urban and agricultural sector, and into an upper and lower town. It was constructed in the classical Inca style with polished dry-stone. Blocs of rocks are cut to fit together tightly without mortar. Such an amazing and interesting architecture!
Machu Picchu was a sacred place and you can still find some religious sites such as the Temple of the condor, that was used for worship and celebration of sacred rituals.
Incas considered mountains as gods, and this intricate rock has exactly the same shoe of the mountains behind it. The Inca Culture is so fascinating !
The population of Machu Picchu ranged from 700 to 900 people, living in around 120 houses, and making their living based on agriculture.
There were more than 600 terraces preventing the city from sliding down the mountains. For me this is one of the most beautiful parts of the citadel.
Visiting machu Picchu is more than a journey through the Inca Civilization, it's a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

The ancient city of Cusco possess a numerous attractive tourist places from the most majestic and complex Machu Picchu to the simplest but awe-inspiring twelve-angled stone, This is one of the most popular attractions in the city of Cusco.

Cusco - Perù - The capital of Inca Empire - Travel Guide Travel & Discover

Cusco was long an important center of indigenous people. It was the capital of the Inca Empire (13th century-1532). Many believe that the city was planned as an effigy in the shape of a puma, a sacred animal.

✅ IMPERIO INCA: NACIMIENTO , AUGE Y CAÍDA - Parte 1 (The inca cities in the cloud)

Osi Machu Picchu in the Clouds Part1

Peru 12: High above Machu Picchu, dawn at the cloud city

On my 4th visit to Machu Picchu, I spent time observing the clouds as they rise from the deep gorges surrounding the site. At times they fully obscured all the mountains and other tourists. Looking towards the east one could see the expanse of the Amazon as the Urubamba river winds its way thru these jagged peaks. A quiet peace was present and for a moment I was suspended amidst one of the wonders of the world.
My friend Walter Pick, upon seeing some of the footage, asked me to assemble a short piece for him to compose music for. I feel he has captured the moment beautifully. If you would like to hear more of Walters' music, visit his Soundcloud site:

INCA TRAIL: DAY 1 || KM 82 - WAYLLABAMBA 12km (7.5mi)

OMGGG it's day one of our 4 day Inca Trail Trek!! We started out meeting our guide at 5:30am outside of our Air BNB in Cusco, Peru. They provided us private van transportation to the trailhead near Ollantaytambo. We ate breakfast in town and then drove the remaining 30 mins to the trailhead. We hiked from the KM 82 Trailhead to Wayllabamba. It was about 7.5 miles (12km) and took us about 4.5 hours. This section of trail is rated easy-moderate. There were a few uphill sections but overall it was pretty flat and easy. The views of the river the whole day were amazing. We were extremely lucky to be the only 2 people in our group. It could have been up to 8 people, but instead we lucked out and got a private tour! Our porter's/chef were amazing and had our campsite set-up and waiting for us by the time we got there.

We highly recommend trekking with
