Vancouver International Airport (IATA: YVR, ICAO: CYVR) is located on Sea Island in Richmond, British Columbia, Canada, about 12 km (7.5 mi) from Downtown Vancouver. In 2012 it was the second busiest airport in Canada by aircraft movements (296,394[3]) and passengers (17.6 million[4]), behind Toronto Pearson International Airport, with non-stop flights daily to Asia, Europe, Oceania, the United States, and Mexico, and other airports within Canada. It is also an operating base for Air Transat. Vancouver International Airport is one of eight Canadian airports that have US Border Preclearance facilities. Vancouver International Airport (YVR) has been named, The Best Airport in North America.[10] The airport also made the list of top 10 airports in the world, rated at 9th overall, for the first time in 2012. In 2013 it is rated 8th overall worldwide.[5] It is also one of the few big international airports to have a terminal for scheduled floatplanes.
Vancouver International Airport is owned by Transport Canada[11] and is managed by Vancouver Airport Authority,[12] which also manages other airports around the world through its Vancouver Airport Services subsidiary.- Wikipedia

Living on ST THOMAS in the US Virgin Islands | Stefanie Hurtado

After graduating college in the summer of 2012, my best friend Amber and I decided to move to the US Virgin Islands for a little while!
We had never been before, so we flew down for two weeks, to see how we'd like it. Then we went home to prepare. I sold my car and almost all of my belongings to afford the move.
We flew down again in late October, without a job, and with only two friends we had met that first trip, who agreed to let us sleep on their floor for a week.
Within one week, Amber and I found a studio apartment on the beach for $1400 a month ($700 each). We both got jobs working on sail boats and leading snorkel tours for cruise ship tourists. For a couple of girls who had never been on sail boats or snorkeled in the deep blue before, we were in for quite an adventure.
What commenced was one of the craziest, most magical times of my life. Thank you, St Thomas!

Shot and edited in November and December of 2012 on a gopro hero 2. For those asking, I lived in the Virgin Islands on and off for two years. The last time I lived on St Thomas was in 2014.

Check out my blog's archives for an idea what life was like for me in the Virgin Islands:

The Top 10 Cheap Travel Destinations in Asia.

Asia’s always been a prime destination for gap year students and adventurers thanks to the thriving backpacker culture and cheap lifestyle. Cities like Bangkok and Hanoi have long been recognized as places where the dollar becomes positively acrobatic in its ability to stretch its value, but it seems that nowadays, travelers can travel more and spend less with some basic informal planning. All across Asia, quality doesn’t necessarily come at a price, making it easy to really enjoy the adventure.
