Morocco is one of the most amazing places that you can visit. It’s one of the few places that I’ve been to that made me feel like I left my reality completely. This country is so amazing because its a deep mix of many cultures Arab,Afro and Euro. The food is incredible, the landscapes are incredible the architecture is incredible. Here are a few tips on how to make sure you make the most of your tripFirst I want to say that I went to Morocco over 5 years ago and my shooting skills with a cinema camera were complete trash so I have limited footage.
* Don’t make it a quick trip. The first thing that you should know about Morocco is that the country is huge and all the cities that are worthwhile visiting are very far apart so you’ll definitely need to dedicate 7-9 days at a minimum. I wouldn’t go for less time than that to visit multiple cities because you simply wont have enough time and honestly you really shouldn’t rush through Morocco.
* Hire a driver. Next I strongly recommend hiring a driver to take you around. A driver will allow you to take it easy and rest in between cities. Also it’s wise to get a driver because there are police constantly stopping cars and your driver is obviously better suited for dealing with local police. I recommend Mbark, who was my driver, he uses SUVs to drive around thats definitely necessary to get around some of the places we went to. I’ll have the link to his website in the description
* Stay in a riad. Book stays in a riad instead of a traditional hotel as much as you can. You should really immerse yourself inside Morocco and its culture and this is a great way to start your dayRiads are traditional Moroccan homes that feature beautiful open air courtyards in the center. They’re usually decorated with beautiful mosaic and are hundreds of years old. These buildings are usually located inside the dense cities so there are almost no windows for viewing out. Instead they have the windows facing towards the courtyard in the center. These places are too unique to pass out on and the best part is that they are really really cheap to stay
* Glamp in the desert. Sleeping in the desert was one of the most amazing things I did in Morocco. We stayed in Marzuga which was in the northern Sahara desert and we had a n amazing time. The amount of stars you see is incredible. We watched the moon rise from the top of a sand dune which was so pretty. I thought it was incredible because the moon was so bright that you could easily read from a book outside wow. Also these tents aren’t your average camping tent. I said we were clamping. The tents have a full bed, sofa, shower and bathroom inside. The food they served was amazing and at night they usually have a fire pit going. Man… thinking back on it I wish I would’ve stayed one more night. There was something really special about that place.
* Be aware. People in Morocco are awesome but you still need to be careful with things that you do. For example when I went to Fez we got into a bunch of shady situations. Basically don’t make too much eye contact with people because otherwise they’ll try to either “help you with directions” like walk you to a restaurant or gift shop where they will expect a tip and if you refuse they’re probably get rude with you. The problem is that Morocco has a huge unemployment rate so people are trying to do what they can to get some money. While helping out the local economy is good by eating at small restaurants and visiting small shops it can get dangerous and shady if you notice that people are constantly coming up to you and harassing you asking you to help you. Another place where you need to watch out for this is in Jamal Al Efna. This place is awesome but you need to be careful when taking photos. Often times I’d take a wide shot of a scene and someone who just so happens to be in the photo came up to me asking for money because they were in my shot… crazy. Just say no and walk away. Regardless make sure that when you’re taking photos no person is your focus.

MARRAKECH, MOROCCO (2023) | 10 BEST Things To Do In & Around Marrakech

Marrakech is located in the center of Morocco. With its vibrant colors, buzzing atmosphere, mix of tradition and modernity, and aromatic smells, it’s a city like no other: Marrakech truly stimulates all your senses at once.

10. Explore the Marrakech medina (free walking tour)
The medina is the heart of the Marrakech, packed with shops, traditional houses called “riads”, restaurants, and many of the historic sites.

☑️ Free walking tour:

???? WHERE TO STAY IN THE MEDINA:
- Riad Basma (where we stayed - budget option):
- Palais Dar Donab (more luxurious):

9. Try the traditional local food
Some staples you have to try include couscous, meat brochettes, and the most iconic dish of all: tagine.

8. Visit the Saadian Tombs
The Saadian Tombs are a 16th century burial ground of the Saadian dynasty, which ruled over Marrakech between 1524 and 1668.

7. Find peace at the Majorelle Gardens
Located in Marrakech’s new town, these lush botanical gardens are filled with cacti, palms, and other colorful trees.

6. Stroll around Mellah Jewish Quarter
There are still a number of Jewish places here, including the Lazama Synagogue, the Miara Jewish Cemetery, and the Spice Market.

5. Get lost in the souks
What makes the souks in Marrakech remarkable is the wide variety of exotic items you can buy, such as babouches, lanterns, ceramics, carpets, and leather goods.

☑️ Different souks in Marrakech:

4. Check the ruins of El Badi Palace
The Saadian Ruler Al-Mansour who was buried in the Saadian Tombs built this grand palace in the 16th century.

3. See the beautiful Bahia Palace
After El Badi Palace, it might be interesting to see the contrast with the beautiful Bahia Palace, which was built in the late 19th century.

2. Go on a day tour to the Ouzoud Waterfalls
With a height of 110 meters or 360 feet, these are the tallest waterfalls in the country. A day tour from Marrakech includes a hike down to the river, do a short boat ride to get closer to the falls, and hike up again.

☑️ Ouzoud Waterfalls day tour:

1. Experience the Jemaa el-fna square + Koutoubia
the Jemaa-el-Fna square is the hub of entertainment, with a variety of food and juice stalls, musicians, fortune-tellers, henna tattoo artists, and snake charmers.

OTHER TOURS FROM MARRAKECH:
☑️ Traditional Moroccan Cooking Class & Market:
☑️ Atlas day hiking trip:

MOROCCO TRAVEL DOCUMENTARY | The Grand Moroccan Roadtrip

Follow us on our Grand Moroccan Roadtrip!
From sweeping sand dunes to desolate highways of emptiness, bustling cities, and snow-covered peaks, we explored Morocco from north to south and east to west. Driving more than 10,000 km in eight weeks, our roadtrip included many unforgettable adventures. Watch as we explore remote landscapes, climb high peaks, battle breath-taking dust-topias (double pun, yeah!), and navigate the hectic bustle of Morocco’s major cities.

Thank you:
A big THANK YOU goes to Saloua Dabhi who helped tremendously with pronouncing Moroccan names. Real Talk:
Despite our attempt at keeping our Morocco Travel Documentary as authentic as possible, you are still watching a highlight reel. When editing, we naturally tend to choose the most exciting videos. What you don’t see are the hours spent driving through less spectacular landscapes or some of the unpleasant challenges we faced.

Did we like everything about Morocco?
Far from it. As mentioned in the video, the huge amount of trash definitely dampened our experience. Additionally, we were surprised by the sheer number of begging children. During our trip, we counted a minimum of 500 children asking us for money or sweets. While Morocco undoubtedly has to combat poverty, this behavior often seemed less dictated by need and more by opportunity. Stopping and giving is an individual choice, of course, but when we didn’t we were regularly flipped off, kicked after, or hurled insults at.
In general, though, we perceived most Moroccans as extremely friendly and helpful. The best example is the three local men who selflessly helped us to change our ruptured tire. We cannot thank them enough.

Full Disclosure:
This trip was entirely self-funded. However, we did enjoy a two-night complimentary stay at La Sultana Oualidia and a two-night complimentary stay at La Sultana Marrakech.

The TRUTH about the 3 Day Tour from MARRAKECH to the SAHARA DESERT (Merzouga) - IS IT WORTH IT?

Are you thinking of taking the 3 day tour from Marrakech to Merzouga and the Erg Chebbi sand dunes in the Sahara Desert? If so, you've found the right video!

In this video I'll take you along and show you in detail what the tour is like. I'll show the truth, the good and the bad. The driving, the sights along the way, the food, the accommodation, the timings, the costs. Everything.

It’s a popular tour for anyone visiting Morocco, and it’s the real thing right to the edge of the Sahara proper, rather than the one day tours. Before I went I couldn’t find that much information online prior to going. There was no real detail about exactly what you see, where you stay and what you eat. Also, what you get for paying a little extra for the luxury option.
This is the video I wish I had been able to watch before going.

We’ll go from Marrakech and up into the Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n'Tichka Pass - The highest pass through the mountains. From there we come out the other side of the mountains and visit and amazing ancient town of Ait Ben Hadou, where many movies have been filmed. We’ll stop at the Rose valley and the Dadès Gorges before going to the hotel for the night.

On day 2, we’ll visit Tinghir and the Todgha Gorge before getting to Merzouga and riding a camel into the Erg Chebbi dunes to the camp for the night.

The final day is the long journey back to Marrakech. On this day I’ll give you my full summary of the tour - the good, the bad, advice and tips.

Here's a full breakdown of what the tour involved, allowing you to go straight to any part you're interested in. Be sure to watch to the end so that you can hear my summary and useful tips!

This was filmed on 24, 25, 26 May.

Everyone says that Morocco is a budget-friendly country for travelers, but have you ever wondered how affordable it actually is?
Tetouan is a hidden gem nestled away in the northern part of Morocco.
I recorded the prices of the items that I bought in a day in this beautiful city, so I’m going to share how much everything cost me in Morocco.

Looking for an unforgettable travel experience? Join us on our journey to Morocco's vibrant city of Marrakech! In this travel vlog, we explore Jardin Majorelle, Bahia Palace, the old Medina and Souk. Let us take you through the colorful streets and bustling markets of the old medina, and explore some of the city's most stunning architectural wonders. Our first stop is at the Majorelle Gardens, also known as the Yves Saint Laurent gardens. With its bright blue color and lush vegetation, this tranquil oasis is a must-see for any traveler. We then head to Bahia Palace, a breathtaking complex of over 150 rooms adorned with stunning mosaics, tile and plaster carving, marble, and colorful stained glass windows. Next, we venture into the old medina and souk of Marrakech, where we navigate the maze-like streets and immerse ourselves in the sensory overload of exotic scents, sounds, and colors. From the aroma of leather and spices to the vibrant displays of metalwork and carpets, the souk offers something for everyone. And don't forget to try the traditional Moroccan pastries - they're a sweet treat you won't want to miss! We end our day at the Riad with Pastilla and tapas for dinner at Dar Dar Rooftop, enjoying the stunning views of the city at night. So come with us on this exciting journey, and discover the magic of Marrakech for yourself and stay tuned for the next episode! Where we take a Tagine cooking class, have lunch in the secret garden and shop at the souk.

Everything I use to film:

While I am on the go, I film with my iPhone 11 Pro Max on the Dji Mobile Osmo 3. This allows me to get super smooth shots. I combine that with the either the Saramonic lavalier mic or Rhode mic and use a mount to attach it to the gimbal.

When I film at my apartment, I use my iPhone Pro Max as the main camera and my Canon 6D with the 24-105 f/4 lens for B-roll and photos. For the overhead shots, I use an overhead camera rig to mount my Canon 6D and connect a camera monitor so I can view the shot. And when my camera is set up on the ground, I use a quick release tripod. For lighting, I use the Neewer ring light and for audio, the Saramonic lavalier mic or Rhode mic (Linked Above).

To edit, I use DaVinci Resolve on my MSI GS 66 Stealth Gaming Computer. To store all of my footage, I use the SanDisk 1TB SSD Card.

Morocco Road Trip 10 days in 2021

We had an amazing time exploring Morocco! So many memorable moments, take a look!
This was our first time to Morocco and we were in awe. We began in Tangier by the coast before moving up into the mountain town of Chefchaouen. The city is set in the Riff mountains with homes and shops along the cobble streets meandering up the mountainside. Be sure to spend some time in the shady main square of Place Outa el Hammam, a 15th-century fortress and dungeon. Next we made our way to Fes often referred to as the country’s cultural capital. Fes El Bali is a walled medina, with medieval Marinid architecture. It is a labyrinth of small alleys full of life as people walk to the various butchers, clothing shops, fruit stands and more. Our journey is far from complete but this description will have to be completed another day.
