In this video i'm going to show you the top 10 tallest buildings in the world in 2023.
Humanity has become obsessed with breaking its limits, creating new records only to break them again and again. In fact, our cities’ skylines have always been defined by those in power during every period in history. At one point churches left their mark, followed by public institutions and in the last few decades, it's commercial skyscrapers that continue to stretch taller and taller.
The Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH) has developed its own system for classifying tall buildings, stating that the Burj Khalifa (828 m.) is the world’s tallest building right now. Read on for the 25 tallest buildings in the world today.

The top ten tallest buildings worldwide according to data from the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat are listed herein. The organization only measures the highest points of these buildings, regardless of non-architectural and architectural extensions. This highest point measure assists in determining air traffic obstruction. It also includes extensions that can be added, modified or removed from these buildings. The expansion of towns and cities has increased the rate of such tall buildings construction in the world due to land scarcity, and there seems to be a great deal of competition within and between cities, regions and countries alike in the construction of the tallest structures and most complex geometries in bids for recognition. These skyscrapers’ locations, building functions, and the materials used to build are also changing with time. North America used to have 75 percent of the tallest buildings 20 years ago, but this has shifted to Asia and Middle East. As a result, per 2014 data, North America’s share of these dropped to 25 percent. The cost of construction has also risen due to the complexity of the structures and technological engineering approaches necessary to take them ever higher.

Wellcome back to the video. Today I'm going to tell you about the ten tallest buildings in Chicago.
10. 900 North Michigan, is a skyscraper completed in 1989. At 871 feet or 265 meters tall and 66-story.
9. NEMA (Chicago) (also 1210 South Indiana and formerly 113 East Roosevelt or One Grant Park) is a 76-story residential skyscraper in the Central Station neighborhood, of the Near South Side. The tower, has 800 apartments and rises 896 feet or 273 meters making it the city's tallest rental apartment building.
8. 311 South Wacker Drive is a post-modern 65-story skyscraper, and completed in 1990. At 961 feet or 293 meters tall.
7. The Two Prudential Plaza is a 64-story skyscraper located in the Loop area of Chicago. At 995 feet or 303 meters tall.
6. The Franklin Center is a 60-story supertall skyscraper completed in 1989 as the AT&T Corporate Center to consolidate the central region headquarters of the American Telephone & Telegraph Company. It stands at a height of 1007 feet or 307 meters.
5. The John Hancock Center is a 100-story, 1128-foot or 343 meters supertall skyscraper, its name was changed to 875 North Michigan Avenue on February 12, 2018. Despite this, the building is still colloquially called the John Hancock Center.
4. The Aon Center (200 East Randolph Street, formerly Amoco Building) is a modern supertall skyscraper just east of the Chicago Loop and completed in 1974 as the Standard Oil Building. With 83 floors and a height of 1136 feet or 346 meters.
3. The Saint Regis Chicago, formerly Wanda Vista Tower, is a recently-completed 101-story, 1198 feet or 365 meters supertall skyscraper. Construction started in August 2016, and which took several years to complete. The tallest structure in the world designed by a woman.
2. The Trump International Hotel and Tower is a skyscraper condo-hotel in downtown Chicago, Illinois. Bovis Lend Lease built the 98-story structure, which reaches a height of 1388 feet or 423 meters including its spire, its roof topping out at 1171 feet or 357 meters.
1. The Willis Tower (formerly and informally: Sears Tower, its name until 2009) is a 108-story, 1450-foot or 442 meters skyscraper in Chicago. The tower has 108 stories as counted by standard methods, though the building's owners count the main roof as 109 and the mechanical penthouse roof as 110.

10. 101 California Street is a 48-story office skyscraper completed in 1982 in the Financial District of San Francisco, California. The 183 meters or 600 feet tower, 48-story.
9. 50 Fremont Center (also known as Salesforce West) is a 43-story, 183 meters or 600 feet high-rise office building completed in 1985 at Fremont and Mission Streets on the boundary of the financial district and South of Market Area of San Francisco, California.
8. Park Tower at Transbay is a 43-story, 605-foot or 184 meters office skyscraper. The entire office space has been leased by Facebook.
7. One Rincon Hill South Tower, was completed in 2008 and stands 60 stories and 641 feet or 195 meters tall.
6. Opened to residents on April 23, 2009, 301 Mission includes two buildings: a 12-story tower located on the northeast of the property, and Millennium Tower, a 58-story, 645-foot-tall or 197 meters condominium skyscraper. In total, the project has 419 residential units, with 53 of those units in the smaller tower.
5. 345 California Center is a 48-story office tower in the financial district of San Francisco, California. Completed in 1986, the 211 meters or 695 feet tower.
4. 555 California Street, formerly Bank of America Center, is a 52-story 779 feet or 237 meters skyscraper.
