10 Fun Facts about New Zealand and what you need to know about New Zealand! that I learned once we got there if you're going to New Zealand these are some fun facts you should know before you go to New Zealand
What you need to know about New Zealand:
1. No natural predators (aka AMAZING HIKES)
2. No shoes, no problem! (So freeing, mostly at the beach and in rural towns)
3. No wifi (found good wifi in libraries or on campermate app)
4. Kiwi phrases (SWEET AS!)
5. Sandflies (park where there is wind)
6. Switch for the outlet
7. Southern Hemisphere (They do have the consolations, I just couldn't find them in the millions of stars!)
8. The Warehouse (Seth was not a fan, I LOVED IT)
9. Driving in New Zealand (On the left side of the road)

New Zealand is famous for a lot of things... having tons of sheep, Lord of the Rings, the All Blacks (our national rugby team) just to name a few.
NZ is also well known for its outstanding natural beauty but there are a ton of interesting and random fun facts about Aotearoa too (the Maori name for New Zealand) which we aim to share with this list we've compiled.
Having grown up and lived in NZ almost our entire lives, we've put together this list of random things which we think may surprise those who aren't so familiar with New Zealand. Some of it comes from friends, family and people we've worked with over the years who came from other countries and shared what they found confusing, funny or surprising about NZ while a few facts were newly discovered by us in more recent times.

Nestled in the heart of the Southern Alps on the shores of Lake Wakatipu, Queenstown offers visitors breathtaking scenery and a wide range of thrilling activities. First on our list is bungee jumping. Queenstown is the birthplace of commercial bungee jumping, and you can experience this adrenaline-pumping activity at the Kawarau Bridge, which is the world's first commercial bungee site. You can also try the Nevis Bungy, which is the highest bungee jump in New Zealand, or the Ledge Bungy, which allows you to jump from a platform suspended 400 meters above Queenstown.
If you're a fan of winter sports, Queenstown is a must-visit destination. The city has four major ski fields, including Coronet Peak, which is only a 20-minute drive from the city center. You can also try your hand at snowboarding, snowshoeing, or even ice climbing.
