Връх Голям Перелик определено не е най-популярното място в Родопите, но като най-висока точка в планината беше основната ни цел при това пътуване.
Заемаше малка част от всичко, което бяхме предвидили, но беше задължително да се качим до върха или до поделението, ако трябва да сме точни. Планът беше да спим в село Полковник Серафимово, да посетим няколко пещери и да се отбием в Смолян и село Смилян. А за десерт бяхме оставили Златоград - град, който много отдавна искам да посетя. И понеже не е никак близо до София, отне известно време това да се случи.
Есенно време в Родопите винаги се чувствам толкова леко и добре. Всички тези вкусове, цветове и звуци, които се долавят в атмосферата придават една особена жизнерадостност, която не мога да обрисувам с думи.

presents views of Kostenets nature and sightseeing.
Kostenets is a beautiful town situated at the foot of Rila mountain and approximately 70 km away from the capital of Bulgaria, Sofia. There are plenty of mineral springs in the area. The temperature of the water varies from 47°С to 73°С. 6 km away from town Kostenets is located Kostenets village which is one of the biggest villages in Bulgaria. There are more than 4 000 people living there. Ivan Vazov has written about Kostenets waterfall in his book of poetry What is the mountain singing and Kostenets - travel notes. In this slideshow you can see some pictures which were taken in Spa Hotel Ezeroto - a truly great place to visit.

Bulgaria is part of the European Union, right? Well...technically it is but the reality is a bit different. In this video, I will tell you the most important things that you need to know before you come to Bulgaria.
At the beginning of the video, I told you that we are in the European Union but not exactly. Let me explain to you what I mean by saying it. Just because our government decided that we need to join Europe doesn't mean that everybody will accept or like the idea.
By default, we, Bulgarians, always question everything, and it was exactly the same with all new rules and regulations. With a few words, most of the things were left in the grey zone. They exist, but no one worries about them.
This was fine for us, but when a foreigner, rider, or driver comes to travel around Bulgaria they found it, I will use the diplomatic word Different but the original reaction is holy shit!

Smolyan - Sekvoia Hotel via Booking.com approx €15. Warm, ski style chalet hotel. Minimal wifi, quiet, big views over the valley. Did the job. 6/10
Zlatograd - 1st night, again booking.com approx €15, very nice room excellent cable tv (with all football!) above a little shop. 9/10. 5 min walk from best restaurant we found in Bulgaria, up river 2 minutes, cross the bridge, next to Alexandrov House and the Ethnographic Area Complex.
2nd night - due to the 1st place being full, we took a €25 house on booking.com.
WARNING. Booking.com WITHIN Turkey will not allow you to book accommodation. Start planning and if you can, booking Turkish accommodation now,
A tale of two halves here as we tackle our highest mountain pass right up into ski territory, then have a huge downhill albeit with one last mountain pass to Zlatograd. Watch for more detail! Some of the most stunning scenery on the trip so far, and definitely the toughest riding.

Златоград — город в Болгарии. Находится в Смолянской области (второй по величине после Смоляна), входит в общину Златоград. Население составляет 6870 человек (2022).
Главной достопримечательностью города является этнографический комплекс Златоград с домами традиционной архитектуры. Это единственный этнографический комплекс такого рода в Болгарии, принадлежащий частному капиталу. В комплексе представлены традиционные народные промыслы региона, все мастерские действуют — можно понаблюдать за работой мастеров и приобрести сделанные на месте товары.
В Златограде сохраняется здание, построенное в 1852 году под взаимную школу — старшие ученики в таких школах обучали младших. В здании действует музей истории образования.
Часть города застроена современными многоэтажными домами.
В окрестностях города — оборудованные туристические маршруты, велодорожки.
15 января 2010 года открылся пограничный переход на границе с Грецией, связывающий Златоград с греческим городом Ксанти.

Златоград се намира в област Смолян.На 6 km северно от граничния пункт ГКПП Златоград - Термес, през който се стига до гръцкия гр. Ксанти.
От XVIII век със спорна автентичност, Златоград е споменат като Беловидово.По-късно, до 1934 година, селището носи името Даръдере.
