Yibin is located in the southeast portion of Sichuan at the southern end of the Sichuan Basin, bordering Zhaotong (Yunnan) to the south, Luzhou to the east, Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture and Leshan to the west, and Zigong to the north, and has a total area is 13,283 square kilometres (5,129 sq mi). The city ranges in latitude from 27° 50'−29° 16' N, and in longitude from 103° 36'−105° 20' E, stretching 153 km (95 mi) east-west and 150 km (93 mi) north-south.
There are several hot springs near Yibin, plus many other tourist attractions. Such attractions include the Bamboo Sea in Changning County and the Xingwen Stone Forest. Cuiping mountain in the centre of the city provides wonderful views of Yibin. Yibin is also the confluence of the Min and Jinsha Rivers, which together form the Yangtze River.
The most significant scenic resource is Mountain Park(dashangongyuan,大山公园), which stretches for hundreds of kilometers.

Street Food - Chinese Street Food - BEST SPICY Street food in China!
In this CHINESE STREET FOOD Tour of Sichuan, we traveled to the SPICIEST Sichuan city to taste and eat the best street food in China. We went to a local BREAKFAST joint and ate some very delicious Chinese Breakfast Baozi and Dumplings, and then travelled through Sichuan by bus to the next city for lunch. Here in Sichuan, this is some of the best street food around the world, and so spicy, this is DEATH level spicy in Zigong! We went to a little street food restaurant for lunch, serving up authentic Chinese recipes that you will fall in love with for sure! The local Sichuan chef’s cooking was incredibly delicious and had an amazing home-cooked style that we would go back for again and again.

This is the second day of our street food tour, after our travels from Chengdu to Neijiang, we took the bus to Zigong. When we arrived, we found a hotel quick and then set out to eat street food! In the evening, we found an ancient village famous for salt production and also famous for its SPICY CHICKEN FEET!!
If you’re traveling through China or even living in China, you really have to explore Sichuan markets and back streets! There is a lifetime worth of food to try and explore. If you visit a market or some street food areas, come with an open mind and come to chat with locals if you have a few words of mandarin. The locals are all so friendly!
Chinese street food and Chinese cuisine is so abundant and diverse that you couldn’t eat it in your whole lifetime. We consider ourselves very lucky to be able to live in Chengdu, Sichuan, eating delicious Sichuan street food and tasting new and enticing street foods almost every day.

On the way from Dazu to Zigong, we have the opportunity to get some small insights into the country life of Sichuan. (The pictures date from 2004 - Since then, the standard of living of the rural population has certainly significantly increased). You can see that agriculture in China is in many parts, more like horticulture. The number of land areas available is very small, and thus every centimeter is cultivated.
Large scale agricultural equipment is practically unknown. Only now and then small tractors can be seen.
Noodles hung up like laundry for drying are part of everyday life. Animal welfare activists in the West would probably have a problem with this pig transport.
The life of an extended family takes place on the street. This does not detract from a good mood.
A brickyard blends in like a hill with the landscape.. Horses are still the most used transportation means.
In another village, we have lunch next to a small market. The fiery red chilies especially catch our eyes. Some days later, we try pork with chilis in Chengdu. There we get to know how spicy Sichuan food is!
At the entrance to Zigong, we first visit the dinosaur museum and then the salt museum.
Architecturally outstanding is the guesthouse of the salt guild, which today serves as a salt museum. In vivid depictions, we learn more about the Chinese methods of salt production through the ages.
Zigong is also still known as a lantern city. A museum and a park show the lanterns and masks used in performances of the Chinese opera.

Auf dem Weg von Dazu nach Zigong haben wir die Gelegenheit einige kleine Einblicke in das Landleben von Sichuan zu erhalten. (Die Aufnahmen sind 2004 entstanden – der Lebensstandard der Landbevölkerung ist seither sicherlich auch bedeutend gewachsen).
Klar zu erkennen ist, dass Landwirtschaft in China in weiten Teilen eher dem Gartenbau gleicht. Die zur Verfügung stehenden Landflächen sind sehr klein und jeder Quadratzentimeter wird intensiv bewirtschaftet.
Landwirtschaftliches Großgerät ist praktisch unbekannt. Lediglich ab und zu sind Kleintraktoren zu sehen.
Nudeln, wie Wäsche zum Trocknen aufgehängt gehören zum Alltagsleben. Tierschützer des Westens hätten mit diesem Schweinetransport wohl ein Problem.
Das Leben einer Großfamilie findet auf der Straße statt. Der guten Laune tut dies keinen Abbruch.
Eine Ziegelbrennerei fügt sich als Hügel mitten in die Landschaft ein. Pferde sind gebräuchliches Transportmittel.
In einer weiteren Ortschaft nehmen wir neben einem kleinen Markt ein Mittagessen ein. Die feuerroten Chilis stechen uns besonders in die Augen. Einige Tage später probieren wir in Chengdu Schweinefleisch mit Chilis. Dort lernen wir kennen wie scharf man in Sichuan gewöhnlich isst!
Am Ortseingang von Zigong besuchen wir erst das Dinosaurier-Museum und anschließend das Salzmuseum.
Architektonisch herausragend ist das Gästehaus der Salzzunft, das heute als Salzmuseum dient. Die chinesischen Methoden der Salzgewinnung im Wandel der Zeit werden anschaulich dargestellt.
Zigong ist auch noch als Laternenstadt bekannt. Ein Museum und ein Park zeigen die Laternen und Masken, die bei Aufführungen der chinesischen Oper zum Einsatz kommen.

Zigong Lantern Festival in Sichuan
Zigong Lantern Festival is a large-scale folk cultural event held in Zigong City during the whole Spring. As a national intangible cultural heritage project, Zigong Lantern Festival has a splendid history of 800 years. (2021 Opening hours : It will open on the evening of February 22, 2021. Longchang, Neijiang, Sichuan, China
Longchang City, under the jurisdiction of Sichuan Province, Neijiang City, county-level city, is located in southeastern Sichuan Province, the southern tip of Neijiang City. It covers an area of 794.41 square kilometers; it has 11 towns and 2 streets. According to the seventh census data, the resident population of Longchang was 568,900 as of November 1, 2020.
Longchang spans between 105°02´ and 105°26´ East longitude and 29°11´ and 29°32´ North latitude. It is adjacent to Rongchang District of Chongqing to the east, Luzhou City Luxian to the south, Fushun County of Zigong City and Duan District of Zigong City to the west, and Dongxing District to the north; 210 km from Chengdu City and 138 km from Chongqing City. It is a subtropical humid monsoon climate, with an average annual temperature of 17.7℃, a frost-free period of 324 days, an annual rainfall of 1000 mm, a forest coverage rate of 27.2%, and an urban air quality of 305 days that meets the national standard. The territory is fertile and rich in products, and is a national base for commercial grains, pigs, fruits and special aquatic products.
Longchang has a long history, and the history of setting up a county in the territory can be traced back to the Tang Dynasty, which is more than 1300 years ago. In the first year of Longqing of Ming Dynasty (1567 AD), the county was set up by cutting 2 miles of Luxian, 4 miles of Rongchang and 14 miles of Fushun, and was named Longchang County with Longqiao Post as the county government, which means prosperous and flourishing; it is also known as the hometown of stone pagodas in China and the city of stone culture in China. It is also the hometown of Huang Fusheng, the pioneer of the Xinhai Revolution; it has such attractions as the ancient pagodas of Longchang, Guyu Lake, and the ancient fortress of Yunding, etc. On September 22, 2020, it won the 2019 Sichuan Provincial Grain Production Harvest Cup. Salt City, China - Ancient Salt Mining in Sichuan
I traveled to Zigong China, where they've been drawing brine from the ground and turning into salt for almost 2000 years.
Salt is one of the most important commodities in the history of China. It advanced technolgy and changed the way the country looked at money. The need for salt was so high, that people claimed it was more valuable than gold.
We visit Zigong's salt museum and an ancient salt well where they are still extracting water using the ancient method from a 1000 meter hole in the ground and turning into amazing salt.
