Zaporizhia Sobornyi Avenue Highlights | UKRAINE
Also known as prospect, One of Europe’s longest urban streets begins at Zaporizka Square in the north, and cuts through the centre of the city for 10.2 kilometres until we reach the soutern part of Zaporizhia.
Until 2016 it was named after Lenin, which was just one of several names that it adopted, including Nazi figures in the Second World War and Karl Liebknecht after the 1917 revolution.
We start our flight at Zaporizka Square, also the entrance to the city centre when travelling by car coming from the recently reconstructed H08.
Then we fly over several landmarks in the Metalurhiv area and Ukraina area. These are also the main parts for tourists and contain shops, restaurants, imposing landmarks like the Neoclassical concert hall and a great deal of Soviet-era Constructivist architecture.
We end our flight nearby the old town area, near the Zaporizhia 2 train station, where also university buildings and other buildings of interest are located.

I was visiting the zaporizhian sich, the weapons museum, the rainbow cascade and the faeton museum.

Zaporizhia Along the Dniepr | UKRAINE
Zaporizhia has a rich history around the Dnieper and its Khortytsia Island. In this video, we're going to fly over some of these landmarks.
We start by visiting the Dam in the north, completed first in 1932, and after being destroyed in WW2, rebuilt in 1950.
The dam is over 800 meters long and 61 metres high. The dam elevates the river water up to 37 m. Over its long history, the dam was hailed as one of the greatest achievements of Soviet industrialization programs, being the third-largest dam in the world and the largest in Europe.
Then we fly over its water locks, one of which is operational and another clearly overwon by nature.
We follow over to the middle of the river, where the island of Khortytsia relies. On this island we find several landmarks, but we visit the Zaporoz'ka Sich, a living museum of Cossack culture from the 16th-18th century. We also fly partly of the nature of the Khortytsia Island and see the Zaporizhia Arch Bridge in the distance. Unofficial landmarks consist of the Zaporizhian Pylon Triple - carrying 5 - 6 150 kV circuits from the hydroelectric station over the dnieper.
Then it is time to visit one of the bridges of transfiguration, connecting Khortytsia to its main land. Still flying over the New Dnieper (wide side of the Dnieper), this bridge - consisting of 4 arches - has been (re)built after WW2 between 1949 and 1952. It boasts two lanes for road traffic and a railway on top.
Actually quite congested, and plans to build a new bridge quite next to this one were until recently halted. However this project has now been reinstated, and in an unheard speed it should be completed in no-time. Just a day before this video, the bridge reached both land sides.
Finally, we follow the river just a tiny bit further down, to see the Zhdanovsky beach area and its restaurants/nightlife, and Zaporizhia's modern hotel/landmark in the background.
