Hoy visitaremos los 10 lugares más indispensables de La perla tapatía: Guadalajara Jalisco
Zapopan Jalisco en 4K | Centro Histórico y Basílica
Disfruta de las calles y andadores de Zapopan, la otra cara histórica, parte de la Zona Metropolitana de Guadalajara. Aquí te dejamos los puntos clave que debes visitar una tarde por el centro.
Al llegar, tendrás como referencia los Arcos de Zapopan, monumento histórico de cantera gris en memoria de los fundadores de la ciudad. Construido en 1982 como conmemoración a los 400 años de la fundación de la ciudad. Diseñado por el arquitecto Guillermo González Ibarra y su esposa, la escultora María del Carmen Rábago.
De estilo colonial y con más de 20 metros de altura, en esta antigua entrada podrás ver distintas esculturas, remates adornados con jarrones, un águila, debajo Diana la cazadora y a los lados Teopilzintli el niño del maíz y la diosa Centeotl.
La Plaza de las Américas Juan Pablo II es conocida también como la explanada de la Basílica de Zapopan, este lugar es punto de encuentro para muchos, ya sea para ir por una nieve de garrafa, o para una breve caminata. Decorada con cantera rosa, un kiosko, jardineras y bancas para sentarte y ver a la gente pasar.
Obviamente, la Basílica es un imperdible al visitar el corazón del Centro Histórico de Zapopan. Este santuario construido en 1690, es famoso por ser punto clave de muchas personas que vienen desde muy lejos, para visitar a la Virgen de Zapopan.
Conocida también por ser el punto de encuentro de miles de personas cada 12 de octubre, fecha en la cual se celebra el regreso de la Virgen a la Basílica, el peregrinaje más grande de la región, llamado “La Romería”.
Si entras, acércate para ver la imagen de la Virgen, toda una obra de arte del siglo XVI. ¿Sabías que está construida con caña de maíz y madera por los indígenas michoacanos? Al salir, no dejes de visitar el Museo Huichol, donde podrás admirar obras de arte indígena.
Después de recorrer la Plaza de las Américas, te recomiendo seguir por el Andador 20 de Noviembre, punto donde distintos bares, comercios, restaurantes y cafés, son los causantes de darle una vida y ambiente único a esta zona.
Los distintos puestos de comida son imperdibles en este lugar, no te pierdas las deliciosas gorditas de nata. Además, es aquí el escenario de diversos eventos culturales, ya sea música en vivo, talleres, mercaditos y más. Bienvenido, ¡estás en el corazón de Zapopan!
El MAZ Museo Arte de Zapopan fue abierto en 2002, es referencia obligada como visitante de Zapopan. Justo en medio de los arcos que dan la bienvenida a la villa y con la Basílica al fondo, se encuentra este edificio de corte moderno —obra de Enrique Toussaint— imposible perderlo de vista gracias a sus grandes puertas color rojo.
Este lugar es la casa de exposiciones temporales de arte contemporáneo, que han posicionado al recinto como uno de los más relevantes de la región en ese tema. No dejes de visitar sus más recientes exposiciones.
