La capital del estado, que lleva el mismo nombre, ha ganado con el paso del tiempo una popularidad que sorprende a propios y extraños. Tan solo la agencia de viajes en línea Expedia la colocó en el primer lugar de su lista Trends in Travel para este año.
En Colima, noticias como esta han despertado un gran interés entre viajeros que buscan lugares alejados del bullicio y con atractivos que inviten a andarlos a pie, en familia, en pareja e incluso en solitario, permitiendo capturar buenas fotografías y saborear sus delicias típicas, como su pozole seco, o una refrescante tuba para olvidar el clima caluroso.
Pese a no ser una ciudad costera, el clima de Colima es caluroso y te sugiere inmediatamente que te encuentras cerca de la playa, con Manzanillo a noventa minutos —en automóvil— tienes además la suerte de probar deliciosa cocina de mar; como su ceviche colimense, con carne molida de pez vela, su irresistible pescado zarandeado o la tradicional sopa de mariscos, que preparan con una mezcla de camarones, jaiba, pescado, chacales y pulpo.
Antes de adentrarnos por completo en este fascinante destino, déjanos contarte que muy cerca se encuentra el Pueblo Mágico de Comala, no olvides visitarlo y conocer aquellos sitios de los que hablaba Juan Rulfo en la novela de Pedro Páramo.
Su centro, dotado de jardines, museos y templos, se recorre en poco tiempo, pero para conocerse, precisa de disponibilidad para curiosear los tesoros custodiados por sus calles. La Catedral Basílica Menor de Colima, es uno de estos espacios que contrasta el estilo neoclásico en su fachada y su interior barroco. Un dato curioso, es que este es el primer templo dedicado a la Virgen de Guadalupe en toda América Latina.
La tercera ciudad más antigua de México goza de un clima agradable y cálido durante todo el año, por lo que la mejor temporada para visitarla será cuando tú decidas visitarla.

All roads seem to lead to the town's main plaza, known as the Zocalo. Sitting in the shadow of the beautifully detailed Church of Santa Prisca, the Zocalo is a wonderful place to eat, shop, and relax. Head back after dark for strolling mariachi musicians.
If food is what you're after, Taxco doesn't disappoint. Excellent meals can be found a Central Cafe, Armando's Taqueria, and Rosa Mexicano. Don't miss out on the local regional specialties such as Mole Rosa, Enchiladas Jamaica, and the Berta, Taxco's refreshing twist on the classic margarita.
There's plenty to do Taxco besides eat. Get immersed in Taxo's mining history by taking a mine tour. If views are what you're after, ride the Montetaxco cable car to the top of an adjacent hill for sweeping views of the city below. Or head catch ride in a vintage VW beetle to the Cristo Monumental Taxco for even more breathtaking views and to marvel at the base of the 60ft tall statue of Christ.

Pozas Azules: AMAZING Natural Pools in Guerrero, Mexico! | Mexico Travel Vlog
The Pozas Azules, located about 45 minutes from Taxco, are a group of natural pools and waterfalls hidden in the mountainside. I spent a refreshing day here while visiting Taxco and loved the crystal clear waters (although they are QUITE chilly!) Getting there was super easy by collectivo/combi and cost next to nothing. Entrance for the day was 100 pesos, or around 5 dollars.
You can take day trips from Mexico City to Taxco, but I would really recommend spending 2-3 days there because it's such a beautiful city with so much to do! But if you only have a short time in CDMX, you could check out some of these tours by Get Your Guide:

-Cómo llegar a las Aguas Termales de Chignahuapan
Si no traes auto, tendrás que dirigirte a la calle 3 Ote. antes Hidalgo, esquina Calle 2 Sur donde salen las combis hacia las Aguas Termales cada 15 minutos a partir de las 7 a.m. La combi es de la ruta U2 R-BTC y tiene un costo de $8 pesos el viaje por persona, esta te deja en el acceso hacia la entrada de las Aguas Termales de Chignahuapan.
También puedes tomar un taxi pero ese llega a cobrar hasta $130 pesos el viaje.

Lo principal es disfrutar de las Aguas Termales que su temperatura promedio es de 38ºC, en ellas puedes relajarte, descansar y olvidarte de todo el estrés de la semana. Para que la pases mejor te recomendamos lo siguiente:
No olvides llevar contigo:

*Traje de baño

*Sandalias o zapatos acuáticos

Dentro del balneario hay un restaurante que ofrece platillos mexicanos con muy buen sabor y calidad de alimentos. Además que si compras el paquete que incluye alimentos o te hospedas en el hotel aquí es donde sirven los alimentos. Si solo pagaste la entrada y deseas comer aquí, también se puede, los costos son muy accesibles.
Otra opción es comprar algún paquete de hamburguesa, torta o botanas en las tiendas de snacks que están en diferentes áreas del lugar. Lleva efectivo de preferencia, recuerda que no hay cajero en el balneario.

What a pleasant surprise!!! I took a 3 hour road trip from Mexico City a lovely small town called Taxco, which looks like a fairy tale!
There are so many things to enjoy about Taxco, but it's most famous for having the purest silver in all of Mexico.
Mining here began in the pre-Hispanic period with natives extracting a stones for ritual purposes. Then the Spanish came along and discovered silver in the early 16th Century, and they started commercial mining in the area and built an amazing church in 1758 which still stands today. Even though mining has stopped in the region, the town of Taxco has remarkably carried on its silver tradition. The streets are filled with hundreds of shops, markets and open air venues selling all kinds of fine silver jewelry and they still make every piece by hand.

After visiting Tepoztlán, Morelos we made the 2-hour drive to Taxco, Guerrero. This is a Pueblo Mágico (Magic Town) we've wanted to visit for a LONG time and it didn't disappoint. In today's Mexico vlog, we're sharing some of our favorite experiences of the trip:
- Checking out the Saturday silver market (Taxco is a former mining town known for its silver)
- Sampling some of the local cuisine, like mezcal from Guerrero and Pozole Verde at Pozoleria Tia Felix
- Getting lost in the streets of Taxco which are like a drunken spider web
- Enjoying the spectacular views of the city from various lookout points—the whitewashed buildings, red tile roofs, and mountains were so beautiful!

*Cómo llegar a Taxco
-Autobús
La manera más cómoda y segura de llegar a Taxco es en un autobus de Estrella de Oro, el viaje sencillo saliendo de la CDMX cuesta $225 pesos por persona y hace aproximadamente 2h 30min. Consulta disponibilidad de horario y costos desde su página
-Turitour
Si tienes poco tiempo en la Ciudad de México y quieres visitar el pueblo mágico de Taxco, te recomendamos conseguir boleto del Turitour ya que el tour es ida y vuelta el mismo día. Visitas puntos importantes de Taxco y vives la experiencia de estar en este pueblito lleno de vida e historia.

*Qué hacer en Taxco
-Conoce la Iglesia de Santa Prisca
Una de las iglesias más bonitas que conocerás de México, la Iglesia de Santa Prisca te impresionará desde el primer momento que la veas. Para conocer bien cada detalle y su historia puedes hacer un recorrido con los guías que están ahí, nosotros lo hicimos con el Guía Especializado Jorge Delgado, si te interesa contratar su servicio comunícate al 01-762-114-7478.
-Súbete al Teleférico
En el Hotel Monte Taxco se encuentra el teleférico que cruza todo el pueblo de Taxco en aproximadamente 5 minutos, la vista desde ahí es muy bonita y más si vas al atardecer. El costo del viaje redondo es de $95 pesos por persona. Conoce más detalles en la página oficial del Teleférico
-Visita las Grutas de Cacahuamilpa
En este Parque Natural de las Grutas de Cacahuamilpa puedes pasar un día lleno de aventura y diversión, además de hacer el recorrido por las grutas puedes cruzar un puente colgante y aventarte de la tirolesa. También ofrecen un tour en lancha por el río si la temporada lo permite y aventurarte en los ríos subterráneos. Para más detalles visita nuestro blog
-Refréscate en las Pozas Azules de Atzala
Las Pozas Azules se encuentran en la comunidad de Atzala a 30 minutos de Taxco. Para llegar aquí puedes tomar una combi o en tu propio auto. El acceso tiene un costo de $30 pesos por persona, está prohibido entrar con cosas de vidrio y fumar. Hay renta de chalecos por si no sabes nadar y de mesas por si deseas comer algo. No cuenta con accesos para personas con discapacidad y puedes llevar a tu mascota pero no puedes meterla a nadar. Si deseas más información visita nuestro blog
-Descubre la Mina Prehispánica
La Mina Prehispánica se encuentra debajo del hotel Posada de la Misión, el acceso tiene un costo de $150 pesos por persona, el recorrido dura aproximadamente 1 hora y vas con un guía especializado que te explica todo lo que se encuentra ahí dentro y también se puede practicar rappel dentro de la mina.
-Tianguis de plata
Compra plata en el tradicional tianguis de plata de Taxco que se pone todos los sábados en Av. de los Plateros esq. 2a. de Fundiciones de 8:30 a.m. a 4:00 p.m. ahí encontrarás todo lo que quieras de pulseras, cadenas, dijes, aretes etc. Lleva efectivo porque no aceptan tarjeta de crédito. También puedes conocer Aurea que son boutiques de autor donde encontrarás diseños únicos y exclusivos que en el tianguis no verás. Es otro concepto que es interesante conocerlo y se ubica en Plaza de Bernal 3, Centro.

It truly looks like something out of a dream! When you are walking the streets of Taxco you feel like you have stepped back in time! White with red tiled roof buildings, the streets are cobblestone, and the taxis look like VW Bugs from the 1950's. There are surprises awaiting you around every corner and callejon!
