Dutch Village you must visit | Zaanse Schans Netherland | How to go Zaanse Schans Windmills

#zaanseschans #dutchvillage #amsterdam #netherlands #windmill #villagevlog

In this video we are gonna give you a complete travel guide about Zaanse Schans like:

1. How to visit Zaanse Schans from Amsterdam
2. Cost to visit Zaanse Schans
3. must visit places in Zaanse Schans
4. Beautiful historic Windmills
5. Cheese Factory
6. Clog Shoe making workshops

Zaanse Schans is a beautiful windmill village and a top-rated day trip destination from Amsterdam.
Located just north of Amsterdam, the Zaanse Schans offers a perfectly preserved glimpse into the Netherlands' industrial past with its traditional wooden houses, windmills, warehouses , Cheese factory and workshops.

Visiting Zaanse Schans:
The Zaanse Schans attracts nearly a million visitors per year and it's one of the Netherlands' best loved attractions. The outdoor portion of the Zaanse Schans is open to view without paying admission, but opening times and entrance prices vary at each of its museums, workshops, and windmills.

How to get to Zaanse Schans from Amsterdam:
Many choose to visit the Zaanse Schans as part of a guided tour or excursion, but the village is also easy to reach under your own steam by car or public transport -
???? You can reach here by taking bus 391 from Amsterdam central Station, Bus will take you directly to
the wind mills area and takes around 45 minutes.and a round trip ticket will cost around 11.5 euros.

???? But I will suggest to go Zaanse Schans by train from Amsterdam Sloterdijk Station because of 2 reasons.

1⃣ - it is cheaper, as you must be using GBV day card for public transport in Amsterdam, hence travel to Sloterdijk station is covered in that pass.. and a round trip train ticket from sloterdijk station to Zandijk Zaanse Schans station will cost 6.4 euros, so you will save 5 euros compared to bus ticket.

2⃣ - From Zaandijk Zaanse Schans station, windmills village is at a 10-15 mins walk, during which u will cross the zaan river, and from the bridge you will get beautiful panoramic view of the old windmills.

Hello ????

We are Lou & Sylw ????

Earlier this year we bought and self-converted a Citroen Relay to travel around the UK & Europe full-time with our 3 dogs (Rocks, Bella & Lola). ????????

During my 1 week road trip around the Netherlands. I visited the famous windmills at Kinderdijk and Zaanse Schans. The bustling city of Rotterdam and its harbour. The historical city of Delft. The Hoge National Park and the magical Castle De Haar ????

Unfortunately, Sylw did manage to wiggle free from her burial and she will be back in our next travel film in her home country of Poland! ????????

Please let us know what you think of our short film in the comment section below and we will get back to you as soon as possible. if you would like to see more of our travels then please do subscribe and leave us a thumbs up. ????

Zaanse Schans
Zaanse Schans (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈzaːnsə ˈsxɑns]) is a neighbourhood of Zaandam, near Zaandijk, Netherlands. It is best known for its collection of well-preserved historic windmills and houses. From 1961 to 1974 old buildings from all over the Zaanstreek were relocated using lowboy trailers to the area. The Zaans Museum, established in 1994 near the first Zaanse Schans windmill, is located south of the neighbourhood.

Etymology and History
Zaanse Schans derived its name from the river Zaan and its original function as sconce (schans in Dutch) against the Spanish troops during the Eighty Years' War of Dutch independence.

Attractions
Zaanse Schans is one of the popular tourist attractions of the Netherlands and an anchor point of the European Route of Industrial Heritage (ERIH). The neighbourhood attracted approximately 1.6 million visitors in 2014. It is served by Zaandijk Zaanse Schans railway station, 18 minutes away from Amsterdam Centraal station. The Zaanse Schans houses seven museums — the Weavers House, the Cooperage, the Jisper House, Zaan Time Museum, Albert Heijn Museum Shop and the Bakery Museum. The whole neighbourhood is a popular tourist attraction and there is a debate in local politics on how to reduce overcrowding

One Of The Nicest Places To Visit In The Netherlands !

Zaanse Schans:
Located just north of Amsterdam, the Zaanse Schans offers a perfectly preserved glimpse into the Netherlands' industrial past with its traditional houses, windmills, warehouses and workshops. Find out what there is to do and see at the Zaanse Schans!

In its 18th and 19th century heyday, the Zaan region was an important industrial area dotted by hundreds of windmills producing linseed oil, paint, snuff, mustard, paper and other products. Many of the Zaanse Schans' characteristic village houses are now museums, gift shops or workshops while others are still used as private residences. Some of the Zaanse Schans' remaining windmills are also open to the public.

How to get to Zaanse Schans:
Many choose to visit the Zaanse Schans as part of a guided tour or excursion, but the village is also easy to reach under your own steam by car or public transport - just catch the train from Amsterdam's Central Station. A 15-minute train ride will take you to Koog-Zaandijk and it's a 10-minute walk from the station. Just look for the windmills!

Your Ultimate Guide to Exploring Zaanse Schans Windmill Village | How to get to Zaanse Schans

Zaanse Schans is a small Dutch village located in the city of Zaandam. It’s about 12 miles from Amsterdam and 1.1 miles from the town of Zaandijk.Despite its diminutive size, Zaanse Schans is visited by millions of tourists every year for its unique set of attractions. These attractions include windmills, museums, and workshops. Once you get there, you can feel the beautiful chocolate-scented air on your way to the village. The primary attraction that Zaanse Schans is known for is its fascinating windmills. The village once boasted a whopping 1,000 windmills. Nowadays, only 13 of them still exist, with only a handful of them being still functional. Zaanse Schans is also the only place where you can see a functional paint mill. There are plenty of windmill tours that you can enjoy at Zaanse Schans, so make sure to take advantage of that splendid experience while you’re there.

As with anywhere in the Netherlands, your visit won’t be complete unless you treat your tastebuds to some world-renowned Dutch cheese. You can do just that and much more in Zaanse Schans’ cheese farms. The most popular of these farms is the Catharina Hoeve Cheese Farm. If heaven was a place on earth, this would be it for cheese lovers. It allows you to sample a wide variety of Dutch cheeses, such as Gouda, Edam, and goat cheese.

Touring the Zaanse Schans windmills requires you to purchase tickets. You can buy tickets to windmill tours in advance here. Another option is to purchase your tickets at the windmill entrance. Tickets for adults range from €5 to €18. For kids, tickets cost anywhere between €2.50 and €9. You should note that touring Zaanse Shcans’ windmills isn’t limited to just seeing their exterior; it’s much more than that. You’re led by your guide inside the windmill, and you get to see its internal structure and workings.

Wooden shoes (or clogs) are a staple of Dutch culture and lore. By visiting the Zaanse Schans Clog Workshop, you’ll get to see how these beautiful pieces of footwear are made by hand. You’ll also be able to feast your eyes on some unique clog designs with vibrant colors and interesting functions. This place is probably the only one where you’ll get to see a pair of clog roller skates!

De Zaanse Schans, Zaandijk, Zaandam, Netherlands, Holland

The Zaanse Schans [1] is an open air conservation area and museum, on the east bank of the Zaan River, north of Zaandam in the Netherlands. It displays the traditional architecture of the area (green wooden houses) and has several functioning windmills and craftsman's workshops, which are open to visitors. Located next to it is the regional museum, the Zaans Museum.
Zaanse Schans is one of the most popular tourist attractions in the Netherlands, being very close to Amsterdam. Since it is a fairly large site, it does not feel very crowded, even in the high season. The buildings, most of which have been transported here from elsewhere in the region, have all been meticulously restored, making it a very pretty site - but at the same time it's not very authentic: it is an idealized re-creation of a Dutch village from the late 19th century.

It is one of our favorite places to visit in Netherlands and we always recommend to our friends to definitely visit this place and enjoy the beauty of the nature and town.
