Zurich Switzerland 4K - Sunset Drive

Weekday sunset drive around Zurich Switzerland. Yes…confirming for all of you.. Zurich (and Switzerland in general) is some sort of utopia, everyone is chill.. having a good time...I love it here! Sunset is around 930pm. Maybe Basel and Bern next? Then to the French Riviera.
Starting Point: .
The city of Zurich, a global center for banking and finance, lies at the north end of Lake Zurich in northern Switzerland. The picturesque lanes of the central Altstadt (Old Town), on either side of the Limmat River, reflect its pre-medieval history. Waterfront promenades like the Limmatquai follow the river toward the 17th-century Rathaus (town hall).

Switzerland is a mountainous Central European country, home to numerous lakes, villages and the high peaks of the Alps. Its cities contain medieval quarters, with landmarks like capital Bern’s Zytglogge clock tower and Lucerne’s wooden chapel bridge. The country is also known for its ski resorts and hiking trails. Banking and finance are key industries, and Swiss watches and chocolate are world renowned.

Zürich is the largest city in Switzerland and the capital of the canton of Zürich. It is located in north-central Switzerland, at the northwestern tip of Lake Zürich. As of January 2020, the municipality has 434,335 inhabitants, the urban area (agglomeration) 1.315 million (2009), and the Zürich metropolitan area 1.83 million (2011). Zürich is a hub for railways, roads, and air traffic. Both Zurich Airport and its main railway station are the largest and busiest in the country.

Permanently settled for over 2,000 years, Zürich was founded by the Romans, who, in 15 BC, called it Turicum. However, early settlements have been found dating back more than 6,400 years (although this only indicates human presence in the area and not the presence of a town that early). During the Middle Ages, Zürich gained the independent and privileged status of imperial immediacy and, in 1519, became a primary centre of the Protestant Reformation in Europe under the leadership of Huldrych Zwingli.

The official language of Zürich is German, but the main spoken language is the local variant of the Alemannic Swiss German dialect, Zürich German.

Many museums and art galleries can be found in the city, including the Swiss National Museum and Kunsthaus. Schauspielhaus Zürich is considered to be one of the most important theatres in the German-speaking world.

Zürich is among the world's largest financial centres despite having a relatively small population. The city is home to many financial institutions and banking companies.

Zurich Travel Guide - Unforgettable Switzerland Dreams

Zurich Travel Guide - Unforgettable Switzerland Dreams

Zurich (German: Zürich, Zürich German: Züri) is the largest city in Switzerland, with a population of some 390,000 in the city proper and 1.2 million in the agglomeration area. Zurich is on Lake Zurich, where the lake flows into the River Limmat , in the north of Switzerland. Zurich is the largest city of the Swiss Confederation (Switzerland) by land area and population. It is the financial center of Switzerland and houses the stock exchange and the headquarters of a large number of national and international companies, and also home of FIFA's headquarters.

You also find Google's world-wide second largest development center in Zurich. Because Zurich is the central node of the Swiss-wide train network and also runs the biggest and busiest international airport in the country, it generally is the first place where tourists arrive. Because of the city's close distance to tourist resorts in the Swiss Alps and its mountainous scenery, it is often referred to as the portal to the Alps.

Contrary to a generally wrongly made assumption, Zurich is not the capital of Switzerland -- the Swiss are very much a confederation of Cantons and avoid naming any one city as capital in order to prevent that Canton from seeming more important than the others. Still, the federal government is headquartered in Berne and not Zurich. Zurich has long been known for being clean and efficient. Due to this, it has been continuously ranked as the city with the highest living standard world-wide for many years. However, only for the last fifteen years it has truly become a fascinating and worthwhile travel destination. This is mostly thanks to the liberalization of the party (more than 80 clubs are open at weekends) and gastronomy sectors (over 500 bars and more than 1500 restaurants). An increasingly cosmopolitan population has helped (every third inhabitant is a foreigner), as well, though more button-down Geneva remains Switzerland's most culturally heterogeneous city. Zurich always used to be well known for a demanding audience in opera/ballet, classical concerts, and theater. You find more than 50 museums and over 100 galleries in a inner city circle.

Zürich is famous for its highly efficient, clean and safe public transport system, owned by the several municipal transport agencies and managed by the Zürcher Verkehrsverbund (ZVV), which covers the entire canton of Zürich, plus some municipalities in bordering cantons for the passenger's convenience (in fact the 18x fare zones and some stops in zone 155). The network includes trams, buses (local city/municipality buses as well as the yellow bright Swiss PostAuto buses), suburban trains (S-Bahn), regular trains (SBB), cable cars and boats.

The quintessential Zürich dish is Zürigeschnätzlets, chopped veal in a cream and wine sauce, normally served with Rösti. Various kinds of grilled Würste (sausages, singular: Wurst) are also popular. These are most often accompanied by boiled potatoes, or Rösti, a kind of hash-browns, just much better (boiled potatoes then grated, then pan fried in butter until crisp) or Chnöpfli (small noodle dumplings, in Germany called Spätzle).

Zurich is the financial centre of Switzerland and most travellers come with an expense account. The hospitality sector focuses therefore mostly on the 4 and 5 star hotels. Zurich is known for its superb hotels, but these won't come cheap. Best is to go on a company rate, because rack rates are sometimes ridiculous.

Night Walk In The Red-Light District Zurich, Switzerland | Langstraße Zurich | Zurich Soft Lockdown

Night Walk In The Red-Light District Zurich, Switzerland | Langstraße Zurich | Zurich Soft Lockdown: In this video I walk through the red-light district in Zurich, Switzerland. The red light area in Zurich is traditionally located in the Longstreet/long street district (Langstrasse | Langstrassen-Quartier) district known all over Switzerland.

It's Monday, November 2, 2020, between 23:00 and 24:00 and I'm taking a walk through the long street district. There is not much going on that evening. On the one hand because it is Monday but mainly because of the new partial lockdown.

Due to the current corona situation, the Swiss Federal Council has decided new measures on 28.10.2020: new rules apply to restaurants and bars. Thus a closing hour from 23 to 6 o'clock applies to the establishments. In addition, only 4 guests are now allowed to sit at the tables. A mask must now also be worn in the outdoor areas of restaurants and bars. Clubs must close completely.

It is shortly after 23:00 o'clock when I start my night walk on Langstraße. The restaurants, bars and clubs have just closed and their guests have moved out onto the street.

25hours Hotel Zurich Langstrasse / Hotel Zurich / HD Exclusive Official Video

Red high heels and fishnet stockings, ties and tailor-made suits - worlds collide at the junction between the lively Langstrasse and the ultra-modern Europaallee at the 25hours Hotel Zurich Langstrasse ( ). Business meetings take place during the day, and in the evenings, the neon lights flicker above the bars. Inspired by the contrasts between banking and the red-light district, between art and capitalism, the designer Werner Aisslinger and his team see the 25hours Hotel Zurich Langstrasse created a self-contained microcosm. Regularly changing resident artists ensure a steady flow of creative input. At the heart of the 25hours Hotel Langstrasse is the ground floor, home to the Cinchona Bar and NENI. Here, Zurich natives and urban explorers can meet for an Oriental lunch or dinner - and for a digestif afterwards. The 170 rooms are comfortable sanctuaries with design elements inspired by themes from the red light district, the bourgeoisie, or the world’s penthouses.

The artistic heart of the 25hours Hotel Zurich Langstrasse is the hotel’s studio on the ground floor. It is a workspace for international and domestic artists, who produce and prepare for their exhibitions, presentations, or collaborations on-site. The hotel’s studio is occupied by guest artists for 12 to 14 weeks, each year. A residency can last from one to four weeks. Each artist leaves one of their artworks behind at the hotel at the end of their residency. The art collection can be viewed at the hotel, free of charge. The studio is curated and managed by Esther Eppstein, an artist and curator from Zurich.

Plenty of hotels offer the security of familiar surroundings. Not us. A 25hours Hotel boasts an unconventional mix of contemporary services. Guests don’t just simply stay at a 25hours Hotel, they deliberately choose dynamism, surprise and a touch of adventure. Our hotel is a social hub. A place where international travellers and local guests form a community, entertaining and being entertained. Since we don’t take ourselves too seriously, we believe that our guests deserve to have a bit of fun. Everyone who stays at a 25hours Hotel should leave with a story to tell.

Run the cities: Zürich – City by the water. | Switzerland Tourism

Lace up your running shoes and get ready for a Tour of the Swiss cities. The cities of Switzerland impress with their short distances and proximity to nature.

Zurich is the largest and probably also the most diverse city in Switzerland. The cosmopolitan city at the waterfront combines city life with unspoilt nature. From the banks of the Limmat to the top of the Uetliberg: runners love Zurich because of its greenery. We take you on three different routes through Zurich and show you not only the highlights but also unknown spots of the city.
