SECRET BEACH IN HONG KONG (Free Things To Do In Hong Kong 2018) - Beaches , Lamma Island
I found a secret beach in Hong Kong! There are plenty of free things to do in Hong Kong 2018. Lamma Island has some of the best beaches in Hong Kong - unexpected, but and a great break from city life.
This was a fun day out, so if you are in Hong Kong and wondering if there are any secret beaches near me? or maybe you are wondering what to do in Hong Kong with kids then Lamma Island is probably the ideal destination.
We took the Lamma Island ferry to Yung Shue Wan where there are some basic gift shops and some nice places to eat. We then took a 20-30 minute hike to Hung Shing Yeh beach. This is one of the best beaches on the island and has toilets and changing facilities available unlike some of the other secret beaches on the island.

Lamma Island has a free-spirited, multicultural vibe and is home to hipsters and creative types. Indie boutiques, craft stores and mellow cafes line Yung Shue Wan Main Street. This is a short walk through the high street of Yung Shue Wan, a small town on Lamma Island, about 25 minutes by ferry from Hong Kong's downtown Central district.
It's a short walk and very different from the Hong Kong Island / Kowloon urban areas. The town feels like a busy village, and is a popular tourism destination for Hong Kongers, with a nice beach, hiking routes and plenty of dining options all easily accessible!

Lamma Island - Best Island in Hong Kong?
In this travel vlog from Hong Kong I bring you along to beautiful Lamma Island, which is located just a short ferry ride from Hong Kong Island. To get here you can take the ferry from Central ferry pier. Head to the north part of the island and then hike to the south and take the boat back. This route can also be done in reverse. The island is popular among expats and here you definitely feel a slower phase of life. On the island there are no cars, so to get around you either have to walk or bike. In the evening I also headed to my first concert in Hong Kong. Enjoy!

【Lamma Island】Family Trail Yung Shue Wan Sok Kwu Wan Fisherfolks' Village 【南丫島】家樂徑 榕樹灣 索罟灣 漁民文化村
The Amalfi Coast of Hong Kong, Lamma Island is just a 30 mins boat ride away from the city. The pastel-colored buildings on the cascading slope above the coastline of Yung Shue Wan with stretches of beaches and scrumptious seafood restaurants. It made us feel like we were in Italy for the day. We took around an hour to hike along the Lamma Island Family Walk from Yung Shue Wan to Sok Kwu Wan to check out the Lamma Fisherfolks’ Village. This floating museum showcases the culture and history of the fishing industry through interactive games and displays. We had a fun time rope fishing and drawing on shells. Also, watching the sunset on a swinging bench.

Best Hong Kong Nature: Lai Chi Chong, Sham Chung, and Yung Shue O hike
This hike that transverse Lai Chi Chong, Sham Chung, and Yung Shue O offers some of the best Hong Kong nature there is to see. We have a geological park, one of the largest green field in Hong Kong, and mangrove forest respectively on this hike.
The hike is located in the Sai Kung region of Hong Kong, and getting in and out via public transport can be a little difficult.

Lamma Island | BEST WALKS
Lamma is the biggest of the car free outlying islands, making it perfect for a full day of exploration on foot. My root started at the northern tip and took me through thick jungle to Hung Shing Ye beach where the walk switches to a coastal hike to the fishing village of Sok Kwu Wan. If you are lucky, or unlucky depending on your love for all things wild, you may see a wild boar or python snake. Both are common sightings in Lamma’s outback. No need for a pack lunch on this trip with plenty of restaurants offering great seafood choices. There is a loop in the southern part of the island if you want to spend time at the beach or a walk to the southern trip where a ferry returns you to Hong Kong island.
Take the ferry from Aberdeen promenade to Pak Kok and walk on the path to the north tip of the island. Take a small path to the cable road, which you can follow through the jungle to Hung Shing Ye beach. From the far end of the beach continue south to Sok Kwu Wan and then along the coast to Mo Tat Wan from where you can take a ferry back to Aberdeen.
