Welcome to a Rail Town Productions film, in this film we are featuring: we take a quick look at the progress of Yeronga's Station upgrade, then hop on a short bus ride over to the Aurizon Rail Welding Depot, over in Yeerongpilly. The tour was organised by Sunshine Express Rail Tours, which is apart of the Australian Railway Historical Society (ARHS) Queensland division.

Let's hope more tours like this can happen again, and maybe in time. I can get some more interstate footage.

Kosciusko National Park Camping - Yarrangobilly pool, Coolamine Homestead and the Blue Waterholes

This is without a doubt one of our absolute favourite places in the world after this trip! We left the South coast and headed to Long Plain Campground in the Snowy Mountains, this is a beautiful campground with a historic hut and they allow camping with horses here too. It was a lovely stay (despite the horrible turquoise mosquitos). The next day we head to Yarrangobilly thermal pools for a dip, this turquoise water is 27 degrees all year round (not 23 Nick haha). We then headed to Coolamine Homestead which is an exceptional example of the huts dotted throughout the Snowy Mountains area. Once we arrived at Magpie flat campground, we decided to head for a stroll and did the Nichols Gorge walk which starts from the Blue Waterholes. WOW, this hike is spectacular, we explored caves and wished that we packed out head torches because you can actually explore the caves much more than we did. We finished off the night looking over the mountains and seeing gorgeous Kangaroos hopping around the campsite. The next day we felt ready for another hike and did Clarkes Gorge, THIS ONE WAS EVEN BETTER! This place is just incredible, after getting lost in a cave behind a waterfall thinking that was the track and completing many water crossings, we arrived at the most beautiful waterfall. We hope you enjoy this video as much as we enjoyed being there. We hope you go visit the Snowy Mountains.

I spent three incredible days travelling across North Stradbroke Island and visiting so many beautiful places the island has to offer. Such friendly, generous locals!

BRISBANE RIVER Cockatoos Turn Australia's Sunrise into a Symphony 4K

A serene & balmy morning with a colourful sunrise was greeted with endless flocks of white cockatoos on the Brisbane River.

This was my chance to film some of them as they were perched on branches of a dead tree on the river bank.

Shot from the start of blue hour (civil twilight) through to sunrise, by the Autel Nano+, 4k, 30fps, H264, mp4.
Digital zoom used to get close ups of birds.
Edited on Filmora 12.
Location is Brisbane Corso, Yeronga, Queensland, Australia.

The sulphur-crested cockatoo (Cacatua galerita) is a relatively large white cockatoo found in wooded habitats in Australia, New Guinea, and some of the islands of Indonesia.
They can be locally very numerous, leading to them sometimes being considered pests.
A highly intelligent bird, they are well known in aviculture, although they can be demanding pets.

In Australia, sulphur-crested cockatoos can be found widely in the north and east, ranging from the Kimberley to as far south as Tasmania, but avoiding arid inland areas with few trees.
They are numerous in suburban habitats in cities such as Adelaide, Melbourne, Canberra, Sydney and Brisbane.

Sulphur-crested cockatoos' distinctive raucous calls can be very loud, which is a result of an adaptation in order to travel through the forest environments in which they live, including tropical and subtropical rainforests.
These birds are naturally curious, as well as very intelligent.
They have adapted very well to European settlement in Australia and live in many urban areas.

Being intelligent, in Sydney, Australia they have learned how to open garbage bins as a source of food.
The behavior spreads among the birds by imitation.

These birds are very long-lived, and can live upwards of 70 years in captivity, although they only live to about 20–40 years in the wild.

Sulphur-crested cockatoos have range of visually observable expressions.
In captivity some will spontaneously dance to music with a variety of unique moves
A 2009 study involving an Eleonora cockatoo (the subspecies Cacatua galerita eleonora) named Snowball found that sulphur-crested cockatoos are capable of synchronizing movements to a musical beat.
Sulphur-crested cockatoos use facial expressions (with their feathers) to indicate positive emotions.

North Lakes, Brisbane, Queensland Australia - why live there?

North Lakes is an award winning 'master planned' suburb 25kms north of Brisbane's CBD. Originally part of Mango Hill, the community was designed by developers Stockland, and is now ten years old. So far 9,000 people have moved to North Lakes; it will eventually house 25,000. The guiding philosophy is sustainable development. As well as man-made wetlands and water management systems, Stockland have firm specs for the building quality and aesthetic of homes in the community. There is plenty of choice amongst builders and designs; different villages within the development have different looks.

The Largest Railway Roundhouse in Australia

The 1947 built Junee Railway Roundhouse is the largest continually operating railway roundhouse in the Southern Hemisphere, located at the half-way point on the Main Southern Railway line between Sydney and Melbourne, it continues to play an important role in servicing and maintaining locomotives that pass through the region, as well as preserving the history of the railways' presence in Junee.

In this video we visit Junee, as the local community celebrate the 75th Anniversary of the opening of this historical facility, and looks at the town overall, that has grown around the existence ever since the railway first arrived here in 1878. We look at not only the railway legacy of the town and the roundhouse, but other elements of the community that continue to keep former railway traditions alive!

My friend Will James also visited Junee on the same weekend, and covered other events that took place which were not featured on this documentary. I recommend you also head over to his channel and watch his take on the weekend which can be viewed here!

The local celebrations for the 75th Anniversary of the Junee Railway Roundhouse was kindly supported by ARTC's Inland Rail Community Sponsorships and Donations program.

Epitomizing the grace and grandeur of a bygone era, welcome to ‘Trevallyn’ - a richly restored piece of Brisbane history. Rising up from a 1,001 square meters block on sought-after Victoria Avenue and constructed in 1905, this gabled Queenslander celebrates traditional craftsmanship and contemporary design. Exquisite in every conceivable way, it honors the old – including timber floorboards, soaring ceilings, VJ walls, double-hung windows and even the original front door – while still meeting modern-day needs. The gourmet kitchen with Smeg appliances and Calacatta benches is a sleek culinary oasis, while the adjoining living and dining zone is a light-bright sanctuary that’s wrapped in glass to invite the outdoors in. One of three lounge areas, these complement the traditional wraparound timber deck. Come together with loved ones to entertain in style or step down into the lush backyard where a pool with imported Japanese tiles glistens in the sunshine.

Fitted with five bedrooms, four bathrooms and a guest powder room (including the option for dual living downstairs), no landmark home is complete without a lavish master suite. Spacious and sophisticated, it boasts a custom walk-in robe plus a decadent ensuite in bold black hues, where you can soak away your stress with an imported William Holland Brass bathtub.

Situated in an esteemed enclave, central to Indooroopilly shops and a short drive from Graceville restaurants and cafes, you’re also close to St Peters Lutheran College and Graceville State School. Public transport, parklands and the Brisbane River are nearby, with the CBD 10 kilometers away. Undoubtedly one of the finest character homes you’ll find, there’s simply no comparison to ‘Trevallyn’.
