Dera Chini Ghati- Baba Diyal Dass ji- situated in the revenue estate of Village Maili (6-7- KM inside Hills) Distt Hoshiarpur. It's udaasi Dera- sampardai Baba Sri Chand ji (Dera Kankhal-North region) Every 10th saradh ( jyoti jot samaye divas of Shri Guru Nanak Dev ji), sant-samelan is organised and the sangat arrived here to pay homage from all over the State and other parts of the country/abroad. 11th saradh at Rorran da vicchhona, site abt 3-4 KM from this Dera & Every 11th March of the year, the sangat ( including around the villages) also come to pay homage.

Dera Chini Ghati- Baba Diyal Dass ji- situated in the revenue estate of Village Maili (6-7- KM inside Hills) Distt Hoshiarpur. It's udaasi Dera- sampardai Baba Sri Chand ji (Dera Kankhal-North region) Every 10th saradh ( jyoti jot samaye divas of Shri Guru Nanak Dev ji), sant-samelan is organised and the sangat arrived here to pay homage from all over the State and other parts of the country/abroad. 11th saradh at Rorran da vicchhona, site abt 3-4 KM from this Dera & Every 11th March of the year, the sangat ( including around the villages) also come to pay homage.Its revenue record that Mahaaja Ranjit Singh had donated abt 500 acres of land in the name of Loh Langer, village Maili and other villages of the then Punjab (during rule of then Shere-Punjab Maharaja Ranjit Singh). However, due to passage of time, some portion of the donated land falls in the juridiction of Himachal Pradesh (V. Sanjhot) which came under unauthorized possession and ultimately the Dera was dispossessed from the land. The major portion of land is in village Maili. The land falls in the category of 'Muaafi land', as per revenue record and no body has the power to alienate the muaafi land in any way, whatsoever.. Nevertheless, we (as follower) are not desired to raise this issue, though the ground reality is otherwise. Because the mohtmim of the Dera is NRI, might have PR status or citizenship of Abroad. Overall the important matter is that there is no hard fast Act/Rules of the Punjab Govt, for regularization/management of such Deras. There may be certain files in dusting ( in the Revenue Department). Pertinent to mention that in the PEPSU governed states, there were specific Rule called Deodee Mohalla Rules regulating appointment of mohtmims and other related matters of landownership. After merger of PEPSU states in the Punjab, these Rules are still applicable in that erstwhile PEPSU area (Patiala, Sangrur, Kapurthala etc etc). There are so many Deras in Doaba belt in possession of in thousands acres. Rest the matter till, any conclusion in the files of Revenue department and most of all as per wishes of the sacred places's heads, saints/mahapurshs. Thanks for reading or as the case may be.
