What to See:
Shanxi is endowed with an abundance of cultural sites from its long history. Most of the ancient structures were built before the Liao and Song Dynasties. The more obvious of these include: the Buddhist wonder of the Yungang Grottoes in Datong City, the Ancient City of Pingyao which was listed as a World Cultural Heritage site by UNESCO in 1997, the oldest and tallest ancient wooden pagoda in China, the Wooden Pagoda of Yingxian County, the remote Shuanglin Temple and Jinci Temple, and a rare multi-functional fortress Zhangbi Ancient Fortress, which are well worth the long journeys for the visitors.

The most famous of them include Mount Wutai with the longest and most prestigious history in the four most well-known Buddhist holy lands of China, the whistling rage of the Yellow River's Kettle Spout waterfalls (Hukou Waterfalls) and one of the Five Sacred Mountains in China - Mt. Hengshan.

THE LONGEST WAY 1.0 - 350 days of hiking through China - TIMELAPSE

In 2008, I walked through China - 1 year, 4500km. I let my hair and my beard grow. This is the resulting video. UPDATE: ▶ I have decided to continue my walk home from China to Germany. I'm currently in Turkey, or about halfway through.I post daily videos on this channel, and I blog about it here:

ABOUT THIS VIDEO:
▶ I didn't finish my original goal of walking to Germany in 2008. Instead, I walked for a year and roughly 4500km, passed the Gobi desert, and then decided to stop walking.
▶ All of the distance from Beijing to Ürümqi was completed solely on foot, straight good old walking. There are instances where you can see me in the video sitting on a plane or riding a boat, but those are during breaks I had to take from walking, either to sort out bureaucracy issues or to take care of some personal things.
▶ I had been planning this trip for over a year before I even started, and getting as far as I got was an experience for which I am very grateful.
▶ Obtaining the necessary visa for a trip like this was not very easy, hence I had to go back to Beijing a few times to resolve some issues.
▶ This is not a strict 1 pic a day video, because I wanted to make it a bit more alive by adding some additional movement. Sometimes during the film you would follow me turn around, or something would happen in the background. I tried to capture these moments to make the video more interesting.
▶ If you liked the music I used in this video, get it here: The Kingpins - L'Aventurier Zhu Fengbo - Olive Tree
▶ The core of this project is in actually my blog where I have posted my extensive travel diary, starting from day 1 (Nov 9th 2007) and describing every single day until the end one year later.

Dragon Palace, Anshun, Guizhou Province 安顺龙宫

Dragon Palace is located between Anshun City and Huangguoshu Scenic Area, about 38 kilometers away from Huangguoshu. It is known as the longest and most beautiful cave in China. The Longgong Scenic Area is not only a cave but also a fascinating karst landform, including the classic Longtan Secret Realm and the Tongxuan Countryside.

As soon as entering the Longtan Secret Realm, refreshing air rushed towards us. Walking along the boardwalk on the mountain wall, Longmen waterfall which is the largest waterfall in China's cave suddenly appears in front of our eyes. After that, go to Longgong lake and take a boat tour of the water cave. The water cave of Longgong is 15 kilometers in length. Inside the cave, there are both colorful halls and labyrinth-like passages. When you get off the boat, you will come to the Tongxuan Countryside area. You will take a section of a wooded mountain boardwalk to take a breath of the air mixed with negative oxygen ions. There are unexpected stalactite caves on the way. Guanyin Cave is the largest Buddhist temple in the cave in China and the wonders of the swirling pond.

Last but not least, you should see the Dragon Character Field as big as 11 football fields. Here, the crops of different seasons are planted into huge dragon characters. 2021年春晋东南游之八泉峡大峡谷| Baquanxia, Changzhi city, Shanxi province | China's Grand Canyon

I drove my parents from the city of Changzhi to Baquanxia Grand Canyon, let me tell you, it was the hardest driving I have ever experiences. Winding road among the mountains, pretty dangerous. It took us almost 2.5 hours.
Considering age of my parents(72 and 67), we chose the easiest route and purchased a ticket of 180RMB which includes a bus ride, a boat trip, ropeway and elevator ride. The view was fantastic, worth the driving!

本频道专注小众旅游景点介绍,包括风景、人文、美食方面。This channel focuses on the introduction of niche tourist attractions, including landscape, culture, humanities, food and so on.
