My name’s Gary and I’ve been living in Bangkok for the past five plus years and travelling Thailand for over ten. I’m obsessed with Thai street food and it’s that obsession that led me to start this YouTube channel. I want to share my favourite hidden spots in Bangkok and the rest of Thailand so you can fall in love with authentic, local Thai food as much as I have!

I’ve never understood travelling to a town or city and not eating the local food. How else do you really connect with a place? Let’s get out and explore together and I guarantee you’ll find a whole different side to this wonderful country.

If you love seeing off the beaten path, non-touristy, local life and authentic local life in Bangkok and Thailand then this is the channel for you. If go go bars on the Sukhumvit Road are more your thing (I’m not judging) then maybe not!

Old Bangkok DIY THAI STREET FOOD TOUR ???? ???? Best Pad Kaprao TALAT PHLU Area - ฝรั่งกินอาหารไทย

Today I headed to an old area of Bangkok known as Talat Phlu to sample two unique versions of two classic Thai dishes in one area. I want to help you find authentic Thai street food wherever you are staying in Bangkok by giving you these little DIY food tours in every area of the city.

The Talat Phlu area is best known for the famous Talat Phlu Market and for good reason, it's a street food paradise! There is a lot more to this area, though, like the two awesome stops on today's street food hunt!

Today I'm showing you an incredible pad kaprao (stir fried holy basil) and some egg noodles with wontons and crispy pork, both with their own unique twists!

I finished up in a great little coffee shop/plant shop for a nice hand roated latte at a place called Masonia Tree & Coffee Cafe.

Bangkok's Chinatown can be a bit overwhelming if it's your first time in Bangkok as it's so big, so I thought I'd do some videos to help break it down into sections so you can get some awesome street food wherever you go.

I want to help you find authentic Thai street food wherever you are staying in Thailand by giving you these little 5-minute street food videos for you to download and share.

Bangkok can be a bit overwhelming if it's your first time in Thailand as it's so big, so I thought I'd do some videos to help break it down into sections so you can get some awesome street food wherever you go.

Talat Phlu Market ???????? Bangkok Hidden STREET FOOD Paradise

BANGKOK, THAILAND - Talat Phlu Market is one of the best street food markets in Bangkok. It is packed with delicious, authentic and cheap Thai street food. The best thing about it is that there aren't many tourists it is a genuine local food experience in Bangkok. Located on the Thonburi side of the river, the Talat Phlu market is the original Chinatown in Bangkok and is best visited late afternoon and into the evening.

I try gut chai (Chinese chive dumplings), bbq red pork rice, crispy rice salad with fermented pork and raw egg yolk ice cream.

THAI STREET FOOD TOUR ???????? BEST CLAY OVEN ROASTED CHICKEN - Talat Phlu Bangkok street food paradise

Today I headed to the original Chinatown in Bangkok, the street food mecca that is Talat Phlu. Ask anyone in Bangkok and they will tell you that Talat Phlu Market is one of the best places to try loads of Thai street food dishes in one area. I want to help you find authentic Thai street food wherever you are staying in Bangkok by giving you these little DIY food tours in every area of the city.

Today, however, I headed away from the market, a little further down Thoet Thai Road to eat an amazing dish called PA NI Gai Ob Ong - Clay pot charcoal roasted chicken similar to gai yang but even better. This little Isan joint also cookS their Kor Moo (pork neck) the same way and it’s amazing also. In the video, I refer to it as kor moo yang, when in fact, it’s Kor Moo Ob Ong!
I also got a spicy somtum and sticky rice to top things off.

I also tried some amazing Chinese dumplings and bai buns at a 50 year old Thai-Chinese shophouse called New Liang Soon.

I also stopped for a coffee at a new favourite coffee shop of mine called Keiken Coffee.
