There's also the Yellow River, Hukou Waterfalls, the Ancient Walled City of Xian, Muslim Quarter, and so much more. Xian is definitely the place to go in China for ancient history and adventure.

3 days in Xi'an - TOP Attractions Terracotta Warriors + more | CHINA
If you've ever dreamed of seeing the terracotta warriors, seeing the most well preserved ancient fortress in the world or simply eating some of the best hand pulled noodles then Xi'an needs to go on your travel bucket list.
We're joined by our parents who flew all the way from NZ for this special family trip. We made our way around some of Xi'an's most prominent landmarks. 3 days of adventure starting with visiting The Terracotta Army.
We have always wanted to see the terracotta army in Xian China. We were fortunate enough to see a few of the terracotta warriors in an exhibition shown at Te Papa (Wellington, NZ) not too long ago but seeing the actual terracotta warriors / terracotta army pit in Xi'an, China itself where they have been and still are being excavated is simply amazing.
Insanely crowded but it's a must visit attraction when in Xian China to visit the terracotta army.

Hours: Monday - Sunday 8:30am–5pm
Xi'an is well known for its delicious Chinese noodles so we hit up a local restaurant for a bowl of mouth watering hand pulled Xi'an noodles. We both love Xian noodles so getting to have them in Xian China itself was so good!
We then visited the Small Wild Goose Pagoda sometimes also known as Little Wild Goose Pagoda which is one of two significant pagodas in Xi'an, Shaanxi, China. The other being the Giant Wild Goose Pagoda or Big Wild Goose Pagoda. Both pagodas are important Buddhist sites, dating back to the Tang Dynasty around 1,300 years ago.
Finally we took a walk along Xian's city fortress also known as Xi'an City Wall and Fortifications of Xi'an. It's the most complete city wall that has survived in China and also one of the largest ancient military defensive systems in the world. Definitely another must visit when in Xi'an China. We went closer to the evening and was able to enjoy and capture a beautiful sunset over Xi'an too.

Four Main Gates: East Gate (Changle Gate), West Gate (Anding Gate), South Gate (Yongning Gate), North Gate (Anyuan Gate)
You can get your tickets at any of these gates.
The next day we visited one of the most famous mountains of China which is Mount Hua aka Huashan. The area is huge so there are multiple different routes you can take. We decided to go on a cable car up Huashan mountain for our parents' sake. The cable car line starts from Donggoukou to West Peak with a stop at White Sparrow Temple. The whole ride is about 4,211 meters (2.6 miles) long and takes about 20 minutes.
Later on that evening we return to check out Muslim Street as well as the Great Mosque of Xi'an. The Great Mosque of Xi'an despite it being a mosque is unique because of its ancient Chinese architecture. It's a nice quiet place to visit especially if you're needing a break from the super loud and busy Muslim Street.
Muslim Street in Xi'an is packed with a lot of streetfood, restaurants and souvenir stalls. Definitely another top place to visit when in Xi'an China. After a full day of adventure we find ourselves some more delicious hand pulled noodles because when in Xi'an, you must get as much Xi'an noodles as you can in you ????

For our final day our family went to Shaanxi History Museum. Shaanxi History Museum was the first modern national museum in China and definitely worth visiting if you enjoy learning about ancient Chinese history.

Xiangyang City, referred to as Xiang, once known as Xiangzhou and Xiangfan, is a prefecture-level city under the jurisdiction of Hubei Province, the People's Republic of China. It is located in the northern part of Hubei Province, on the upper reaches of the Han River. The city borders Shiyan City and Shennongjia Forest District in the west, Yichang City in the southwest, Jingmen City in the southeast, Suizhou City in the east, and Nanyang City in Henan Province in the north. It is located in the upper reaches of the Hanshui River, a tributary of the Yangtze River, at the junction of Hubei and Henan provinces, with Wudang Mountains and Jingdong East in the west, Tongbai Mountain in the northeast, Dahong Mountain in the southeast, and Xiangyang Basin in the middle. The Han River runs obliquely through the whole area from northwest to southeast, and its tributaries are Tangbai River, Nan River, Man River, Qing River, and Gun River. The city has a total area of 19,728 square kilometers and a population of 5.26 million. The Municipal People's Government is located in Xiangcheng District. Xiangyang is a famous historical and cultural city in the country, known as Xiangyang of iron, the first city in China, and a place that must be contested by military strategists. Since ancient times, Xiangyang has been divided into two cities, Xiangcheng and Fancheng, on the north and south banks of the Han River (Mian River). They face each other across the Han River. Both cities were once important military and commercial cities in history. After 1949, the two cities were merged into one and called Xiangfan City. On November 26, 2010, with the approval of the State Council, Xiangfan City was renamed Xiangyang City, and Xiangyang District was renamed Xiangzhou District. On December 9, 2010, Xiangfan City officially changed its name to Xiangyang City.
The development of Xiangyang City began when the Western Zhou Dynasty enfeoffed the State of Deng in the present city of Xiangyang, and from Jingzhou Mu Liubiao moved to govern Xiangyang. Xiangyang has always been the government, road, state, road, and county seat. Muslim Chinese street food and Chinese Food is delicious in China! I flew to Xi'an, China and have been eating street food and dumplings non stop. Best Street Food I've tasted in China, maybe even best street food in Asia! The Chinese food is so good in Xi'an! I've eaten street food in Bejing, street food in Shanghai,, and street food in Chengdui, all of which has been amazing, but I have to say that the chinese street food in Xi'an has been some of the best!

The street food in Xi'an was so delicious. The restaurant food was also very nice! I had some amazing noodles and dumplings in the old quarter, the muslim quarter of Xi'an. The markets around the muslim quarter had a ton of street food to try!
I met up with my local Chinese friend Ying Ying, who gave me a tour of the muslim quarter in Xi'an. It was packed with delicious stalls to eat amazing street food. The local population is all of the hui ethnicity, and the food is all beef and lamb, so delicious! You definitely need to come here to eat!
Most of the stalls shown in this video were around the Huiminjie Hui ethnicity street, along the backroads. That is something you definitely have to do when you visit Xi'an. The food is better and you can have a real authentic experience as a local as opposed to being a tourist, that's what it's all about! I really hope you enjoy my Chinese street food in Xi'an video! Daming palace was the biggest palace cluster in the Chang’an City and it's the most magnificent building complex of Tang dynasty. In this video we visited the museums of the Daming palace and Danfeng gate relics. There is the example of the Daming palaces in National Heritage Park. Xianyang is the first imperial capital of Ancient China, which is located in the northwest of Xi'an. There are many attractions in Xianyang, such as Xianyang Lake Scenic Area which includes Ancient Ferry Bridge, Qingwei Tower and Weibin Park, .
Xianyang ancient ferry is the Wei River Ferry. It runs across the Wei River that is the mother river of Shaanxi, which flows by Xianyang which was the ancient capital of Qin Dynasty. It was the first ferry in the Qin Dynasty and also the only way from ancient Chang'an(now Xi’an) to the northwest and southwest. The famous friendship poem of the Tang Dynasty: “In the Wei City, the rain is blowing and the dust is light; The green willows are fresh in the guest house; Pleasing have a glass of wine, my dear friend; there will not be any old friend out of Yangguan in the West” , was written by the well-known poet Wei Wang after sending off his best friend here.
Xianyang ancient ferry bridge, also called Xianyang Gudu Corride bridge, Xianyang Gudu Langqiao or xianyang ancient ferry crossing and lounge bridge, was built on the site of the original Xianyang ancient ferry. It is a two-story steel pedestrian bridge in Qin Dynasty(221BC - 207BC) architectural style as well as a length of 748 meters and a width of 14 meters. On the bridge, there are three Towers: Qinfeng Tower, Tianlai Tower and Runxin Tower. The bridge is easier for people to travel between the old and new districts of Xianyang. It also gives visitors a best place to view the beautiful scenery of Xianyang Lake.
Qingwei Tower is very famous in ancient Xianyang. It was built in the Qin Dynasty and it was once called Xianyang East Tower and “Qin Tower. It was renamed to”Xianyang Tower during the Han and Tang Dynasties. It was located on the north bank of the Wei River and was known as the first building in the Northwest. Before the Song Dynasty, Xianyang Tower fell due to wars. During the reign of Song Renzong (1034-1037 AD), the Northern Song Dynasty poet Xiaoxian Huang was appointed as the officer of Xianyang and then he started to rebuild it. Weibin Park was built in 1959. It is located on the north bank of the Wei River. It is a large park with very beautiful scenery and complete facilities. There was chrysanthemum exhibition in the park. The chrysanthemum, together with the plum blossom, orchid and bamboo have been regarded as the four gentlemen in Chinese culture.The chrysanthemum blooms during chilly autumn, a time when most flowers wither. It blooms splendidly without attempting to compete with other flowers and faces coldness and a tough environment, which makes it a symbol of strong vitality and tenacity. That characteristic of the chrysanthemum inspired Chinese scholars and poets from different dynasties. Besides praising its beauty, they also made the chrysanthemum a symbol representing themselves in their art work.
