Gozo - Malta | 12 Things to Do | Travel video | GoPro 10 & DJI Mini 2

when I planned to visit Malta, I didn't want to miss the island of Gozo. I made a good decision because the island of Gozo is absolutely amazing. Personally, I was more excited about Gozo than I was about the island Malta. Gozo is visited by fewer tourists and is generally friendlier. If I will plan to visit the state of Malta in the future, I will go straight to Gozo and be there all the holiday. My feelings probably can't be expressed better. Even with the knowledge that Gozo is a tiny island that you can drive in 3 days. Although you can spend a whole day in Victoria, if you don't wake up early in the morning.

A pleasant drive on a sunny October afternoon from Xewkija to Xlendi in Gozo

Starting in Xewkija village square in front of the church (the Rotunda), we drive to Xlendi on the road via Sannat and Munxar, with a diversion through the centre of these two villages because of roadworks at Triq Ta' Marziena (Sannat).

A samozřejmě Malta jedině bez cestovky.

Transcript:
Malta is an archipelago of islands in the Mediterranean Sea between Sicily and Northern Africa. The tenth smallest country in the world, it centres around two main islands, Malta and Gozo, which lies just off the mainland’s north-western coast. Being an island, Maltese culture revolves around the sea, which means lots of fishing and lots of swimming in some of its amazing beaches along its outstandingly beautiful coast.
Malta is a big destination for the British. Could it be to do with the fact everyone speaks English here? Malta actually only gained its independence in 1964 and before that, it was a part of the British Empire. And Britain loved its little Mediterranean baby so much that it really didn’t want to let it go. And there is evidence of its past Britishness all over the island.
Inland is the fortified city of Mdina. Serving as the Maltese capital from antiquity until medieval times, the city still exists fully within its walls, sitting at the top of a hill with views across the entire island. The city was fairly impregnable and has subsequently survived to this day completely intact. Albeit with a few modifications along the way.
Just outside its walls, is the town of Rabat. It has some pretty churches, but the main thing you should do when visiting the town is head underground! Malta is absolutely riddled with ancient catacombs, which are networks of tunnels bored into the bedrock to create burial chambers for early Christians. There are MANY different catacombs you can visit, of varying lengths and depths, but we opted to see the Catacombs of Saint Paul. As Bible buffs will know, Saint Paul was shipwrecked on Malta on his way to Rome in the first century AD and stayed for three months on Malta. And obviously the cave he supposedly lived in is now a shrine. Which you can visit as part of your tour.
Then, a very short drive away, is Malta’s most famous of its 359 churches. The Mosta Rotunda. 359? But Malta is tiny! It’s probably one of the most Catholic places on the planet and you can see pictures and statues of popes wherever you turn, as well as Vatican flags flying alongside their own. The Rotunda’s dome is IMPRESSIVE and was the third largest in the world when it was built and narrowly avoided destruction after a bomb fell through its roof during World War 2 but didn’t explode. Underneath the church, they have preserved some of the old air-raid shelters for the town, which you can visit too.
Malta has been inhabited for a LONG time. Since 5900BC in fact. And there is evidence of its prehistoric inhabitants all over the island, with some amazing preserved temples, which are now UNESCO World Heritage Sites. We visited a few and some are definitely better than others. The Tarxien Temples were the best ones we found to visit without costing us a fortune. Because the best ones, called the Hypogeum of Ħal-Saflieni, costs forty euros to visit! Admittedly it’s underground and looks pretty damn cool. But if we paid 25 Euros to visit the Palace of Versailles, we’re not paying forty to go down a few tunnels.
Next, we hop on a ferry and cross the short causeway to Gozo, passing the island of Comino on the way. There’s the beautiful Blue Lagoon on Comino that you can visit, but we unfortunately didn’t have enough time to go. One of the most striking buildings on Gozo is the Rotunda of Xewkija. More commonly known as the Rotunda of St John the Baptist. It’s been modified a lot over the years, starting with an ornate but small church which they then decided to extend in 1952… Into an enormous barn of a place.
Nearby is Victoria, the biggest town on the island, which contains the citadel. Which is an ancient fortress at the top of a hill, a bit like Mdina, but smaller – But just as perfectly formed.

#naturephotography #travel Photography at Rotunda of Xewkija, Gozo Malta

The Church of Saint John the Baptist, commonly known as the Rotunda of Xewkija or Xewkija Rotunda, is a Roman Catholic church in Xewkija, Gozo, Malta. On 27 November 1678, Bishop Miguel Jerónimo de Molina raised Xewkija from a hamlet to the status of a village, and as the first parish of Gozo outside the town.

Gozo - the foodie`s hidden gem in the heart of Mediterranean

Although Malta`s second largest island Gozo isn’t big, its attitude makes up for its size. A tiny island of 67 km², yet it’s jam-packed full of hidden treasures that delight all that stumble upon them.

When our friend Giovann Attard told us, he was coming back home from London (to Gozo), we knew we had to take the opportunity and create a video about his successful life story.
- he gives advice on habits to acquire to become successful in life (in fact, all successful people have these particular habits in common)
- his passion turned him into a highly successful (yet humble) person from an ordinary person

Everyone desires of success but it comes only to one that is capable of it!
There are no secret tips or formulas for becoming rich! There is always hard work behind it! Successful people do not become that way overnight. What most people see at a glance wealth, a great career, purpose is the result of hard work and hustle over time.

IMPORTANT!! Success means different things to all of us, but the only version of success that matters is yours!

This video tells you a story about a young professional from a tiny Island of Gozo, who was working hard to fulfill his dream to become a chef and work in a famous restaurant in London, UK.

Together with Giovann, we are trying to showcase the beauty of Gozo, its hidden gems, culture and local people`s life.

He started his career at Kempinski San Lawrence in Gozo where he was working and gaining new cooking experience. At the moment, he is working at Sicilian Restaurant called Norma in the heart of London.

He loves using fresh ingredients whilst cooking and every time he has some free, he enjoys exploring London or visiting his family in Gozo, Malta.

Thank you for watching!

Latest News!
Giovann Attart has been chosen to take part in the exclusive Master Chef The Professionals, were a group of professional chefs compete against other in a cook-off in an attempt to win the coveted title of best chef! We wish you good luck Giovann!

Gozo Sightseeing Tour

Tour of Gozo visiting beautiful places on the Maltese island.

MALTA & GOZO [4K] – MALTA’23 W 11 DNI! – TOP 40! DRONE & WALK (#0 zabytki i atrakcje wyspy słońca)

... zapowiedź kolejnego cyklu wizualnych opowieści ... tym razem o Malcie. Wszystkie odwiedzone miejscowości zostaną udokumentowane oddzielnymi filmami. Polecam śledzenie szczegółowej relacji z wyprawy … ;-)

Gozo Island Malta Day Trip: Citadel & Beaches

Gozo Travel Vlog showing the ferry from Malta to Gozo Island and things to do in Gozo.

My day trip to Gozo starts by taking my hired motorbike on the Gozo ferry, exploring the Citadel which has a cathedral, museum, an old prison and amazing views from the Citadel ramparts over the island. I visit the Blue Hole, taking the drone up to get some drone footage of Gozo, and visit San Blas Bay which is on of the best beaches on Gozo Island.

***MALTA CITYSIGHTSEEING HARBOUR CRUISE***

The hour-and-a-half trip starts from the Sliema Ferry Terminal and heads towards Manoel Island in Marsamxett Harbour, which is home to the star-shaped Fort Manoel.

The boat will then take you round the tip of the city to the Grand Harbour, passing the City’s famous fortified walls and Fort St. Elmo, another star fort, which played a vital role in the Great Siege of 1565. Across the Grand Harbour, lies the village of Kalkara, home to Fort Ricasoli, the island’s largest fortification, another testament to Malta’s military importance. In recent times, scenes in both Gladiator and Game of Thrones were filmed in the fort.

The last fort you pass is Fort St. Angelo, in Vittoriosa, one of the Three Cities. St. Angelo was home to the British Royal Navy on the island until as recently as 1979. From there, the boat takes you back to Sliema.
