I'M SO HAPPY that I made it back to the incredible East African nation of TANZANIA! My previous (and only) visit here was back in Jan 2018, where I only visited the island of Zanzibar. But I really missed out because the people, culture, food and nature on the mainland is just about as good as you can find anywhere on this planet.
My friends at Qatar Airways reached out and offered to fly me and Deanna on business class to Tanzania, and we couldn't say no! I've never had a better flying experience in my life... and Tanzania was just amazing! We began our trip in Arusha, then went to Ngorongoro Conservation area before heading deep into the Serengeti for 3 nights and finally ending in a town called Moshi. Tanzania is a phenomenal country inside and out, and I can't wait to show you more of this country over the coming 2 weeks!

First we fly from Tanzania to Zanzibar, then rent a car and visit the absolute highlights in this video: Nungwi Beach, Paye, Stone Town, Kendwa Beach, Jambiani, Mtende and Eden Rock. Before this you saw us in Asia and after Zanzibar we will cross over to the mainland to go on Safari. We go by jeep past all the animals through the most beautiful nature and also rent a camper to drive through South Africa, Namibia, Botswana and Zimbabwe. We also visit Mauritius and Reunion by plane!
We make our journey through Africa during a world trip of one and a half years. We may even continue to travel indefinitely. On New Year's Day we started in Lanzarote and Fuerteventura, the Canary Islands. Then you saw us in Oman, Cape Verde, Martinique, Saint Lucia, Tobago, Grenada, the Bahamas, the United States, Mexico, Ecuador, the Galapagos Islands, Brazil, Qatar, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, Malaysia, Australia and the Philippines . #Kenya is not only an awesome safari destination but East Africa's No. 1 travel destination which is actually a multifaceted place with a wide variety of adventures both rural and urban.
If you are a wildlife enthusiasts, look to the soaring heights of Mount Kenya, surrounded by flamingos and rare rhinos and wildebeest, and take 4X4s across the Amboseli National Park to spot large herds of African elephants and an extensive variety of wildlife such as Zebras, Giraffes, Cheetahs and innumerable bird species.
While wildlife remains the lodestone, it’s also got mile upon mile of beautiful coastline along the Indian Ocean. Shorelines around Malindi and Mombasa to taste all the exoticism of Kenya, all mixed up with the smells of Keralan curries and Arabic tagines thanks to the multi-layered history.

How to prepare your trip to Tanzania? This is your travelguide for Tanzania. Tanzania is an amazing country. You can hop between having the greatest safari of your life in the Serengeti national park and jumping into crystal clear water on Zanzibar. We absolutely enjoyed the trip and we will summarize all you need to know, if you are planning your trip to Tanzania. In this video we will answer how to apply for the visa in Tanzania. What you need to know about the yellow fever vacccination and malaria prophylaxis.
This was our travel route:
1 day Arusha
4 days safari (Tarangire National Park, Serengeti National Park and Ngoronggoro)
1 day Arusha
10 days Zanzibar
How to prepare your visa for Tanzania:
First, you can apply for an e-visa or get a visa on arrival. Either way, you pay round about 50 US Dollars for the visa. When you apply for your visa online, you need to do it early enough. We got our visa granted in 4 days. So you need to apply for the visa at least 10 days before leaving. Friends of us did not get the visa on time. You can apply for your e-visa (online visa) here:
In the case you don't want to apply for the e-visa, you can also apply for the visa on arrival.
Here you find a list, which countries need a visa:
Yellow fever vaccination:
You don't need a yellow fever vaccination for Tanzania, because it is not a high risk area. However, they will not ask you when you enter Tanzania mainland or Zanzibar from your home country. But it can happen that they control your vaccination certificate when you enter Zanzibar after visiting Tanzania mainland first. This does not make sense at all, but it is a formal vaccine and it could happen they ask you for your certificate. So better be prepared. Our tip is: visit Zanzibar first and then go to Tanzania - this way around you won't have any problems. The other way around, you maybe need to be prepared by getting vaccinated before you go on your trip.
Malaria Prophylaxis:
Tanzania mainland is a high risk area for malaria. Especially when you go on a safari. The doctors told us to take malaria pills. We started to take them before leaving Germany and stopped taking them on Zanzibar.

At the moment (march 2022) you still need a negative PCR-test to enter Tanzania. Of course, this can change again. Right now, you also need to fill out a health form 24 hours before leaving.

Tanzania | Budget Safari to 5 National Parks Anyone?
Growing up watching wildlife documentary made me long to have this experience myself. October 2020 I visited East Africa for the first time and I knew I had to give it a try. I am so glad I did because I ended up visiting 6 Parks in Tanzania.
Three through an agent organized safari tour and 3 through self organization. In this video I will talk about the Tanzania Safari scene i.e. the different circuits. The amount I paid for my safari trips to 5 in November 2020 and January 2021 respectively.
