Wangxian Valley is located in the Jiangxi province of China and it is famous for the houses hanging from its cliff. It is a newly depeloping scenic spot built by hand. The construction is mainly an imitatation of an ancient city with its streets and buildings.
There is even an artificial waterfall in there.

Chongqing, A.K.A Yu for short, is located along the upper reaches of the Yangtze River in Southwest China. As China’s fourth municipality directly under the administration of the Central Government and the only one in Western China, it is newly established as one of five central cities in China.
Chongqing is one of China's four direct-controlled municipalities (the others are Beijing, Shanghai, and Tianjin).
It is the largest of the municipalities by area and it is the only one that is located far away from the coast. Chongqing is located in southwestern China within Sichuan Province and shares borders with Shaanxi, Hunan, and Guizhou provinces.
The city is known as being an important economic center along the Yangtze River as well as a historical and cultural center for the country of China.
Chongqing covers 82,400 square kilometers and governs 38 districts and counties (including autonomous counties), and has a total population of 33,434,400 with 29,450,000 permanent residents.
Chongqing is a great city to explore with its winding walkways, stairways and banyan besieged older neighbourhoods. Its locals are frank and honest and delightfully playful.

It also has a diversified economy with major industries in processed food, automobile manufacturing, chemicals, textiles, machinery, and electronics. The city is also the largest area for the manufacture of motorcycles in China.

Hangzhou in China is the capital city of the Zhejiang Province and has been called many names: Shanghai's garden, China's Silicon Valley or China's most beautiful city. When Marco Polo visited the city in the 13th century he called Hangzhou: the most beautiful and splendid city in the world. And after visiting this city I have to say I am also really impressed, with the West Lake, the many temples and modern architecture Hangzhou is truly a nice city. Besides the beauty the city is also home to many famous Chinese start-ups, the most well-known Alibaba.

今天我们来到了四川大凉山的悬崖村，这里位于四川省凉山彝族自治州昭觉县支尓莫乡，坐落在海拔1400-1600米山坳中，从山底小学到山顶村庄海拔高差近1000米。以前的村民走向外面世界，需要攀爬落差800米的悬崖、越过13级218步藤（钢）梯。如今的他们已经搬走了，今天我们也来体验了下这接近千米悬崖上的钢梯，真是让人胆战心惊

China 2001: Wanxian
Here is the 9th segment from a 32-chapter DVD that I put together from our trip to China. The riverboat on the Yangtze stops at Wanxian where we see local market and are treated to an Acrobat Show. One of us gets tricked into becoming a magician's assistant!
Technical: This trip was recorded on twelve miniDV tapes, using an early-model Panasonic consumer DV camcorder that I bought in 1998. Although the video was shot in 2001, I didn't edit until 2009.
It's pretty common for amateurs like me to come home from vacation with hours of boring video that no one wants to see. Our challenge is to use editing tools to transform them into something that's fun to watch. Check out my website for hundreds of examples about editing vacation video.
Wanzhou, Health Care - China Travel Channel
In Wanzhou, a district of Chongqing in the Yangtze River, we get a glimpse of the health care system in China. Health care also takes place publicly on a crowded place.
A doctor has opened its mobile clinic right next to the market in Wanzhou. With traditional Chinese medicine, the patients are treated in 30-second intervals. The patients treat each other under guidance mutually.
It is not conceivable that China has a bonus system for the occupancy of hospital beds. The average life expectancy in China lies about 6 years lower than in Germany (source: World Bank). Presumably, a large proportion is due to the hygienic conditions in the country.
In Shanghai, the average life expectancy is about 2 years higher than in Germany. After an excursion to a privately funded health service, China steers back again and the state takes on more responsibility. Approx. 90% of the population are now covered by health insurance. Nevertheless, the costs of health care are only around 5% of GDP in China, in Germany they are 10 - 11% of GDP.

In Wanzhou, einem Stadtbezirk von Chongqing am Jangtsekiang bekommen wir einen kleinen Einblick in Chinas Gesundheitswesen. Gesundheitspflege findet auch öffentlich auf einem belebten Platz statt.
Direkt neben dem Markt von Wanzhou hat ein Arzt seine mobile Ambulanz aufgeschlagen. Mit traditioneller chinesischer Medizin werden Patienten im 30 Sekunden Takt behandelt. Unter Anleitung behandeln sich die Patienten auch gegenseitig.
Es ist nicht vorstellbar, dass es in China ein Bonus-System für die Belegung von Krankenhausbetten gibt. Die durchschnittliche Lebenserwartung liegt in China ca. 6 Jahre niedriger als in Deutschland (Quelle: Weltbank). Vermutlich liegt ein großer Anteil an den hygienischen Verhältnissen auf dem Land.
In Shanghai liegt die durchschnittliche Lebenserwartung ca. 2 Jahre höher als in Deutschland. Nach einem Ausflug in ein privat finanziertes Gesundheitswesen steuert China wieder zurück und der Staat übernimmt wieder mehr Verantwortung. Ca. 90 % der Bevölkerung sind jetzt krankenversichert. Dennoch liegen die Kosten des Gesundheitswesens nur bei 5 % des BIP in China, in Deutschland liegen sie bei 10 - 11 % des BIP.

Schatzkammerberg, Dazu, Chongqing - China Travel Channel
62 miles west of Chongqing you can visit the Dazu Rock Carvings ( 大 足 石刻 ). In the hillsides around the city of Dazu 50 000 statues were carved in the rocks. Most are located on the North Hill and the Treasure Chest Mountain - Baoding Shan. The Treasure Chest Mountain, 6.3 miles northeast of Dazu, is the second most important mountain for Buddhists in China. Baoding Shan with its 10,000 sculptures has become a bible written in stone for the Buddhists.
Most of these statues were made in the 11th and 12th Century. The statues show the Buddhist deities. They also show many examples of actions and their various punishments after death. Punishment can be avoided if you live a devout life and enter into Nirvana.
Next to the sleeping Buddha, with a length of 98 ft, is Guanyin (觀音 - 观音) the God of Mercy with 1000 hands and 1000 eyes. It is the best known statue and appeared earlier in the form of a man and later in the form of a woman, as seen here during the Song Dynasty.
Since 1999, the rock sculptures of Dazu are on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

100 km westlich von Chongqing befindet sich die Felsskulpturen von Dazu - 大足石刻. 50000 Statuen wurden in der näheren Umgebung aus dem Fels geformt. Die meisten befinden sich am Nordberg und am Schatzkammerberg - Baoding Shan.
Der Schatzkammerberg, 10 km nordöstlich von Dazu, ist der zweitwichtigste Berg für Buddhisten in China. Mit seinen 10.000 Statuen ist er eine zu Stein gewordene Bibel für Buddhisten.
Die meisten dieser Statuen wurden im 11. und 12. Jahrhundert erstellt und zeigen neben Gottheiten viele Beispiele, für welche Taten man nach dem Tode welche Strafe zu erwarten hat, es sei denn, man schafft durch rechtgläubiges Leben den Einzug ins Nirwana.
Neben dem 30 m langen schlafenden Buddha ist Guanyin, die Göttin der Barmherzigkeit mit 1.000 Händen und 1.000 Augen, die bekannteste Skulptur und wurde früher als Mann dargestellt, später, wie in diesem Beispiel aus der Song Dynastie, war sie eine Frau.
Seit 1999 stehen die Felsskulpturen von Dazu auf der UNESCO Welterbe-Liste.

Xinxiang is a prefecture-level city in Henan Province. It is located in the north of Henan Province, facing the Yellow River in the south and looking across the river from Zhengzhou and Kaifeng; relying on Taihang in the north and adjacent to Hebi and Anyang; connecting with Jiaozuo and bordering Shanxi in the west; connecting with Puyang, the oil city, and Shandong in the east, with a total area of 8,249 square kilometers. Xinxiang City belongs to the North China Plate and is located in the two major basins of the Yellow River and the Haihe River. Xinxiang City has a long history, with sites surviving from the Yangshao and Longshan cultures, and is one of the important birthplaces of the Poetic Edda, the poetry popular in the ancient Xinxiang area, accounting for a quarter of the national style. Reflecting the rise and fall of dynasties, major historical events such as the Battle of Makino, Zhang Liang's assassination of Qin and the Chenqiao Mutiny all took place here. There are 20 national cultural preservation units and 19 A-class tourist attractions in the territory.
As of 2018, Xinxiang City has 12 counties (cities and districts), one urban-rural integration demonstration zone and two national development zones under its jurisdiction. According to the data of the seventh census, the resident population of Xinxiang City was 625,929 as of November 1, 2020 at 00:00.
