This is the trip to four of Switzerland's top places to visit - Zermatt, Interlaken, Lauterbrunnen, and Lucerne. These four beautiful places are among my favourites in Switzerland, and I can't wait to share their magnificence with you. Join me this trip to Switzerland!
Starting from Milan, Italy I took the train Italia to Visp, Switzerland and then connecting SBB regional train to Zermatt, Switzerland. Zermatt is a beautiful small village with view of majestic Matterhorn Mountain.
All of the next travels to Interlaken, Lauterbrunnen and Lucerne; were done on regional trains of SBB. Interlaken is a picturesque resort town, nestled in the Bernese Alps and overlooking Lake Thun in Switzerland. Lauterbrunnen is another best tourist destination because of its natural beauty, especially the lushy Valley and the spectacular waterfalls of Trümmelbach. Finally to Lucerne,

Canton of Fribourg
The canton of Fribourg, also canton of Freiburg is located in western Switzerland. The canton is bilingual, with French spoken by two thirds of the citizens and German by about one third. Both are official languages in the canton. The canton takes its name from its capital city of Fribourg. The canton of Fribourg joined the Swiss Confederation in 1481. The area is made up of lands acquired by the capital Fribourg. The present extent was reached in 1803 when Murten (Morat) was acquired. The canton of Fribourg joined the separatist league of Catholic cantons in 1846 (Sonderbund).
Tafers / St. Antoni / Heitenried
They are municipalities in the district of Sense in the canton of Fribourg in Switzerland. They are one of the municipalities with a large majority of German speakers in the mostly French speaking Canton of Fribourg. On 1 January 2021 the former municipalities of St. Antoni and Alterswil merged into the municipality of Tafers.
Schwarzenburg
Schwarzenburg is a municipality in the district of Bern-Mittelland in the canton of Bern in Switzerland. It was created on 1 January 2011 through the merger of the municipalities of Wahlern and Albligen.
Mamishaus
The village of Mamishaus is a settlement in the municipality of Schwarzenburg in the canton of Bern.
Riggisberg
Riggisberg is a municipalities in the Bern-Mittelland administrative district in the canton of Bern in Switzerland. On January 1, 2009, the municipality of Rüti bei Riggisberg became part of the municipality of Riggisberg. On 1 January 2021 the former municipality of Rümligen merged into Riggisberg.
Kirchenthurnen / Mühlethurnen / Lohnstorf
They are former municipality in the Bern-Mittelland administrative district in the canton of Bern in Switzerland. On 1 January 2020 the former municipalities of Kirchenthurnen, Lohnstorf and Mühlethurnen merged to form the municipality of Thurnen.

Thun
Thun is a town and a municipality in the administrative district of Thun in the canton of Bern in Switzerland. It is located where the Aare flows out of Lake Thun (Thunersee), 30 kilometres (19 miles) southeast of Bern. As of December 2018 the municipality has almost about 45,000 inhabitants and around 80,000 live in the agglomeration. Besides tourism, machine and precision instrument engineering, the largest garrison in the country, the food industry, armaments and publishing are of economic importance to Thun. The official language of Thun is (the Swiss variety of Standard) German, but the main spoken language is the local variant of the Alemannic Swiss German dialect.

Today we'll be riding with the Austrian national operator ÖBB, aboard one of their regional services. We'll be travelling from Innsbruck Hbf to Seefeld in Tirol, at 4000ft in the Austrian Alps. This is a breathtakingly scenic ride which I do hope you enjoy!

Wimmis Castle is a castle in the municipality of Wimmis of the Canton of Bern in Switzerland. It is a Swiss heritage site of national significance
By the 12th or 13th century the Lords of Wimmis or Strättligen built Wimmis Castle above the village. The exact relationship between the two families is unclear, but the Wimmis line became extinct in the mid-13th century and by 1260 the Freiherr von Strättligen owned Wimmis Castle and the surrounding lands. A few years later the castle and lands were incorporated into the extensive holdings of the Freiherr von Weissenburg. Over the following years, the town at the foot of the castle was attacked and burned twice by Bernese troops, in 1298 and 1334 and the castle was attacked and taken in 1334. After the war, Freiherr Johann the Elder von Weissenburg was forced to sign a treaty with Bern. The castle and surrounding bailiwick were inherited by the Freiherr von Brandis in 1368. However, in 1398 he sold a half share of the estates to the von Scharnachtal family and in 1437 sold the remaining half to them. The von Scharnachtals held the castle and bailiwick until Bern bought it back in 1449.

A pass hike with panorama: Trudging through the versatile landscapes at the foot of Bäderhorn, you gaze into Niedersimmental and the Bernese Alps. Especially impressive: the rugged spikes of Gastlosen
Jaunpass, also called «Röstipass», connects the Bernese Simmental with the Gruyère region in the Canton of Freiburg. This once made it important for national defence. In the Second World War, the region was upgraded into artillery fortification and bunkers were disguised as alpine huts. Today, Jaunpass is quiet and tranquil – particularly when you trudge through the glittering landscape with your snowshoes.
Following the winter hiking trail, you reach the Bädermoos region from the exit point on the pass (Camping). There, the trail turns right and runs along the summer route around Bäderegg into the Trogsite region. The view into Niedersimmental is phenomenal. A short but steep ascent through a sparse forest leads into the Bäderberg region. After crossing the forest, a splendid panorama opens up into the Bernese Alps and the nearby Gastlosen with its razor-sharp spikes.
Past the impressive Alpine huts of the «Gross Bäder» and «Klein Bäder», the trail leads across to Gislibüel and the fireplace of the same name located in front of it. The resting point is at an idyllic location, again with a tremendous view of Gastlosen and the remote place called Abländschen. The return trail initially goes through a forest stretch and then along the winter hiking trail back into Bädermoos and to Jaunpass.

The Jungfraujoch mountain is one of the most famous mountain peaks in Europe. With an elevation of 4,158 meters, or 13,642 feet above sea level, it thrones high above the beautiful Grindelwald valley.
It is the world's most famously known as the “Top of Europe”. About 1 million tourists travel to the Jungfraujoch every year.
What else can you do at Jungfraujoch?

First Cliff Walk presented by Tissot is a popular attraction in Grindelwald-First Switzerland. Located at the summit of First Mountain, the metal cliff walkway structure is about 300 meters long and sits at 2200 meters above sea level. The cliff walkway and the viewing platform offers spectacular views of Swiss Mountain Ranges.
First Cliff Walk is free to enter. It can be reached by riding the Gondola Cable Car from Grindelwald-First Station. The ticket costs €64 roundtrip or €32 each ride.

Switzerland - Hiking the Via Alpina
This trip was top - super simple but worthwhile. Comfortable to, as you don't need to carry any food - and you're staying low in the towns where it's warm and there is shops/restaurants each night.
We camped and didn't eat out to save food but there is plenty of accommodation and restaurants had you wanted to. Switzerland doesn't have to be so expensive after all!
From Grindelwald - Lauterbrunnen - Griesalp - Kandersteg - Adelboden. Around 90km total in 4 days / 5 nights.
